Generation of W-type Entangled Coherent States of Three-cavity Field by Raman Interaction

Ma Song-She

A scheme was proposed to generate the W-type entangled coherent states of three-cavity fields, after comparing the differences between the discrete-variable quantum information and the continuous-variable quantum information and taking into account that coherent states were presently of practical use and readily available. The scheme was based on the degenerate Raman interaction of a Λ-type three-level atom with a single-mode field. Three identical cavities were in coherent states and three identical atoms shared a W-type entangled state initially. Let the three atoms interact with the three cavity fields respectively, selected a proper interaction time and detected the three atoms after exiting from their respective cavity. Then the three-cavity fields were projected onto a W-type entangled coherent states. During the atom-field interaction the atoms have no probability of being populated in the upper level, then the atomic spontaneous emissions could be neglected. Therefore, the coherence of the system might be better maintained. Based on current cavity quantum electrodynamics technique, the scheme could be realized experimentally. The W-type entangled coherent states generated was expected to be useful in the continuous-variable quantum information processing. The scheme was generalized to prepare the W-type entangled coherent states of n-cavity fields (n〉3).

Entanglement Generation in Capacitively Coupled Transmon–Cavity System

J.-S. Wu, Lian-E Lu, Xinyu Zhao +1 more

Abstract In this paper, the higher energy levels of the transmon qubit are taken into consideration to investigate the continuous variable entanglement generation between the transmon qubit and the single‐mode cavity. Based on the framework of cavity Quantum Electrodynamics (QED), the authors show the entanglement generation depends on the driving field intensity, coupling strength, cavity field frequency, and qubit frequency. The numerical results show that strong entanglement can be generated by properly tuning these parameters. It is hoped that the results presented in this paper may lead to a better understanding of quantum entanglement generation in cavity QED systems and provide new perspectives for further research in quantum information processing.

Scheme for Generation of Entanglement among Bimodal Cavities

Song Xin-Guo, Feng Xun-Li

We present a scheme for generation of an entangled state in many spatially separated bimodal cavity modes via cavity quantum electrodynamics. A V-type three-level atom, initially prepared in a coherent superposition of its excited states, successively passes through both the bimodal cavities. If the atom is measured in its ground state after leaving the last cavity, an entangled state of many cavity modes can be generated. The conditions to generate the maximally entangled state with unity probability are worked out.
