A Generalization of Brémond-Valatin Method for Four-Body Correlation and Its Application to a Charge Independent Pairing Interaction

Munetake Ichimura

The new method presented by B. Bremond and J. G. Valatin is generalized which at-tache ~ four body correlation to the Bogoliubov transformation. The generalization carried in this paper is similar to that from the Bogoliubov transformation to the generalized Bogoliubov one. We find a criterion of whether a trial ground state vector has an essential feature of four body correlation or it is like that of the generalized Bogoliubov transformation. This method is applied to a system with a charge independent pairing interaction. There appear two. different kinds of single quasiparticle excitation energy due to proton-neutron interaction.

Bridging the quartet and pair pictures of isovector proton-neutron pairing

V. Baran, D. Nichita, D. Negrea +3 more

The formal implications of a quartet coherent-state ansatz for proton-neutron pairing are analyzed. Its nonlinear annihilation operators, which generalize the BCS linear quasiparticle operators, are computed in the quartetting case. Their structure is found to generate nontrivial relationships between the many-body correlation functions. The intrinsic structure of the quartet coherent state is detailed as it hints to the precise correspondence between the quartetting picture and the symmetry restored pair condensate picture for the proton-neutron pairing correlations.
