Abstract

In a recent paper [Yan F L et al. Chin. Phys. Lett. 25 (2008) 1187 ], a quantum secret sharing the protocol between multiparty and multiparty with single photons and unitary transformations was presented. We analyze the security of the protocol and find that a dishonest participant can eavesdrop the key by using a special attack. Finally, we give a description of this strategy and put forward an improved version of this protocol which can stand against this kind of attack.

Cryptanalysis and Improvement of a Quantum Secret Sharing Protocol between Multiparty and Multiparty with Single Photons and Unitary Transformations

Zhen-Chao Zhu, Yuqing Zhang

In a recent paper [ Chin. Phys. Lett 25(2008)1187 ], a quantum secret sharing scheme between multiparty and multiparty was presented. We show that the protocol is not secure because the last member in Alice's group can illegally obtain most secret messages without introducing any error. Finally, a possible way to avoid the security flaw is suggested.

Attack on the Enhanced Multiparty Quantum Secret Sharing

Shuai Yang, Xiu‐Bo Chen, Yixian Yang

Recently, Gao et al.'s [ Commun. Theor. Phys. 52 (2009) 421 ] multiparty quantum secret sharing (MQSS) protocol with two-photon three-dimensional Bell states was enhanced by Hwang et al. [ Commun. Theor. Phys. 56 (2011) 79 ]. The improved protocol removes some unnecessary unitary operations, devices, and transmissions by the technique of decoy single photons and careful modification. However, in this paper, we investigate the security of the improved protocol and find it is insecure. The eavesdropper can steal all Alice's secret information. Furthermore, a feasible modification to remedy the security loophole is put forward. Our improved protocol provides a basic method to modify a kind of MQSS protocols which cannot resist the collusion attack.

Reexamining Security of Improved Multiparty Quantum Secret Splitting and Quantum State Sharing

Song Lin

In a recent letter [H.F. Wang, X. Ji, and S. Zhang, Phys. Lett. A 358 (2006) 11], an improvement of the multiparty quantum secret splitting and quantum state sharing protocol [F.G. Deng, et al., Phys. Lett. A 354 (2006) 190.] was presented. We study the security of the improved protocol and find that two or more dishonest participants may recover the secret from the dealer. Hence we further modify the improved protocol, which make it stand against this kind of attack.

Improving security of efficient multiparty quantum secret sharing based on a novel structure and single qubits

Xiao‐Qiu Cai, Shuang Li, Zi‐Fan Liu +1 more

Quantum secret sharing is a basic quantum cryptographic primitive, which has a lot of applications in information security and privacy preservation. An efficient multiparty quantum secret sharing protocol (Kuo et al. in EPJ Quantum Technol 10(1):29, 2023) based on a novel structure and single qubits was reported recently. In this paper, we give a cryptanalysis of this protocol and show that it cannot satisfy the security requirement for secret sharing because an unauthorized set of agents can gain access to some information on the dealer's secret by a special collusion attack. Furthermore, we put forward a way to deal with the security problem.

Improving the security of multiparty quantum secret sharing based on entanglement swapping against participant attack

Song Lin, Fei Gao, Fen-Zhuo Guo +2 more

In a recent paper [Z. J. Zhang and Z. X. Man, Phys. Rev. A 72, 022303(2005)], a multiparty quantum secret sharing protocol based on entanglement swapping was presented. However, as we show, this protocol is insecure in the sense that an unauthorized agent group can recover the secret from the dealer. Hence, we propose an improved version of this protocol which can stand against this kind of attack.

Cryptanalysis of quantum secret sharing with d -level single particles

Song Lin, Gongde Guo, Yongzhen Xu +2 more

In a recent paper [V. Karimipour and M. Asoudeh, Phys. Rev. A 92, 030301(R) (2015)], a multiparty quantum secret-sharing protocol based on $d$-level single particles was proposed. We discussed the security of this protocol and found that it is not secure for any one dishonest participant who can recover the secret without the aid of other participants.
