Abstract

We use the symplectic transformation of the known linear optical elements to investigate the dynamical evolution of a three-mode cavityless optomechanical system and give explicit formulas for the input and output covariance matrices of the three mode fields when the initial state is Gaussian. Unlike the conventional approaches, the present one does not necessitate solution of the equation of motion of such a system. We study the dynamical behavior of bipartite entanglement in this system when the mirror vibrational mode is initially in a single-mode squeezed vacuum state and each of the two reflected optical sideband modes is in the vacuum state. It is found that the entanglement configuration alternates between a fully separable state and a continuous-variable entangled state during evolution.

Two Methods to Dynamics of Cavityless Optomechanical Systems

Shao-Hua Xiang, Wen Wei

We present two methods to solve the equation of motion of the cavityless optomechanical system and obtain an explicit formula of the covariance matrix of the evolved state when the initial state is Gaussian. We study the entanglement dynamics of this system initially in the vacuum state. It is shown that bipartite entanglement behaves in a periodic manner. In particular, we can easily generate a genuine three-mode continuous-variable entanglement.

Extracted work as measure of entanglement in optomechanics

Hamza Harraf, M’bark Amghar, W. Kaydi +2 more

In this work, we investigate quantum entanglement and work extraction in two distinct optomechanical systems. The first system consists of two spatially separated Fabry-Pérot cavities driven by squeezed light in the resolved-sideband regime, while the second system comprises a laser field incident on a vibrating mirror. We analyze the entanglement dynamics between optical and mechanical modes, as well as quantum correlations in a mixed optomechanical bipartite system (optic-optic mode) mediated by radiation pressure. Using logarithmic negativity as a measure, we quantify the entanglement evolution in both optic-optic and mirror-mirror bipartite subsystems. Furthermore, we show how three distinct types of extractable work vary with system parameters and examine their relationship with entanglement. Our results highlight the relationship between quantum correlations and extracted work in optomechanical system, offering insights for quantum information processing and energy transfer in hybrid systems.

Steady-state entanglement and normal-mode splitting in an atom-assisted optomechanical system with intensity-dependent coupling

Sh. Barzanjeh, M. H. Naderi, M. Soltanolkotabi

In this paper, we study theoretically bipartite and tripartite continuous variable entanglement as well as normal-mode splitting in a single-atom cavity optomechanical system with intensity-dependent coupling. The system under consideration is formed by a Fabry-P\'erot cavity with a thin vibrating end mirror and a two-level atom in the Gaussian standing wave of the cavity mode. We first derive the general form of the Hamiltonian describing the tripartite intensity-dependent atom-field-mirror coupling due to the presence of the cavity mode structure. We then restrict our treatment to the first vibrational sideband of the mechanical resonator and derive a tripartite atom-field-mirror Hamiltonian. We show that when the optical cavity is intensely driven, one can generate bipartite entanglement between any pair in the tripartite system and that, due to entanglement sharing, atom-mirror entanglement is efficiently generated at the expense of optical-mechanical and optical-atom entanglement. We also find that in such a system, when the Lamb-Dicke parameter is large enough, one can simultaneously observe the normal mode splitting into three modes.

Calculation of Covariance Matrix for Multi-mode Gaussian States in Decoherence Processes

Shao-Hua Xiang, Shao Bin, Kehui Song

We investigate the dynamics of n single-mode continuous variable systems in a generic Gaussian state under the influence of the independent and correlated noises making use of the characteristic function method. In two models the bath is assumed to be a squeezed thermal one. We derive an explicit input-output expression between the initial and final covariance matrices. As an example, we study the evolution of entanglement of three-mode Gaussian state embedded in two noisy models.

Monogamy inequality and entanglement sharing in optomechanics

Jamila Hmouch, Mohamed Amazioug, Mostafa Nassik

In this paper, we quantitatively study the dynamics of the tripartite entanglement of the three-mode Gaussian state in a cavity-free optomechanical system. After deriving the explicit form of the evolved state matrix covariance, we elucidate in detail the evidence of entanglement monogamy in different mode partitions, based on Coofman–Kundu–Wotters inequalities, using the Gaussian Contangle quantifying bipartite entanglement. Next, we focus on the genuine tripartite entanglement quantified by means of the Residual Gaussian Contangle.
