Critical exponents of the two-layer Ising model

Zhibing Li, Zhigang Shuai, Q Wang +2 more

The symmetric two-layer Ising model (TLIM) is studied by the corner transfer matrix renormalization group method. The critical points and critical exponents are calculated. It is found that the TLIM belongs to the same universality class as the Ising model. The shift exponent is calculated to be 1.773, which is consistent with the theoretical prediction of 1.75 with 1.3% deviation.

The Critical Exponent η of the Three-Dimensional ±J Ising Model by the Transfer Matrix Method

Hidetsugu Kitatani, Takehiko Oguchi

The three-dimensional ± J Ising model on the simple cubic lattice is studied by means of the screw transfer matrix method for L × L × N lattices ( L =2∼5; N ≃10 3 ). Studying the decay of the correlation functions, the value of the critical exponent η is found to be -0.26±0.03, assuming T sg / J =1.2. The result is in good agreement with that obtained by the Monte Carlo method and high temperature series expansion method.

Dynamical Correlation Functions in the Two-Dimensional Kinetic Ising Model: A Real-Space Renormalization-Group Approach

Gene F. Mazenko, J. E. Hirsch, Michael J. Nolan +1 more

A real-space dynamic renormalization-group scheme is used to evaluate static and dynamic correlation functions for a kinetic Ising model on a two-dimensional square lattice. The critical exponents obtained from the correlation functions calculated using this method satisfy the proper static and dynamic scaling relations and are in excellent agreement with known values.

Domain-wall renormalization-group study of the two-dimensional random Ising model

W. L. McMillan

The distribution of domain-wall free energies is calculated with the use of a transfer-matrix approach for finite lattices. A renormalization-group transformation is set up which preserves the domain-wall free-energy distribution as well as the susceptibility when the lattice parameter is changed. The fixed points, critical exponents, and phase diagram are determined for the two-dimensional random Ising model with a Gaussian distribution of nearest-neighbor interactions.

Corner Transfer Matrix Renormalization Group Method Applied to the Ising Model on the Hyperbolic Plane

Kouji Ueda, Roman Krčmár, Andrej Gendiar +1 more

Critical behavior of the Ising model is investigated at the center of large scale finite size systems, where the lattice is represented as the tiling of pentagons. The system is on the hyperbolic plane, and the recursive structure of the lattice makes it possible to apply the corner transfer matrix renormalization group method. From the calculated nearest neighbor spin correlation function and the spontaneous magnetization, it is concluded that the phase transition of this model is mean-field like. One parameter deformation of the corner Hamiltonian on the hyperbolic plane is discussed.
