We consider the solvable model of nonabsorbing nonlinear medium modeled as an anharmonic oscillator interacting with squeezed light described as an SU(1,1) coherent state. We find that the squeezing is eventually revoked and furthermore that the greater the initial state is squeezed, the more rapidly the squeezing is revoked.
We study the time evolution of SU(1,1) coherent states in an exactly solvable model of a single-mode quantized electromagnetic field in a four-photon medium that has previously been shown to give squeezed states from ordinary coherent states. If the SU(1,1) coherent state initially exhibits squeezing in the X1 quadrature, the squeezing is revoked. We also show that for certain choices of phase in the initial state, enhanced squeezing may appear in the X2 quadrature. Numerical results are also presented for the case when the model is not exactly solvable.
In this paper the squeezing properties of the two-mode radiation field interacting with a nonliner nonabsorbing Kerr-like medium modelled as a two-mode anharmonic oscillator are studied. Time evolution of the variances of the radiation field initially prepared in the two-mode coherent state as well as the two-mode squeezed vacuum state are analyzed. In particular, it is shown that in the case when the radiation field is initially prepared in the two-mode coherent state the interaction between two modes leads to a high degree of squeezing.
