Abstract

The dynamical critical exponent z of he two-dimensional Ising model with sequential-flip heat-bath dynamics is numerically estimated to be 2.2, which agrees with that of Metropolis dynamics. The dedicated machine "m-TIS", designed and constructed by the present authors is used for the simulations.

Accurate Estimation of the Dynamical Critical Exponent of the Two-Dimensional Kinetic Ising Model Based on the Ising Machinem-TIS

Nobuyasu Ito, Makoto Taiji, Masuo Suzuki

The dynamical critical exponent, z , of the two-dimensional kinetic Ising model is estimated by the Monte Carlo method using finite-size scaling. The Monte Carlo simulalion is performed on a special-purpose computer system, m -TIS, designed and constructed by the present authors. The obtained value of z is 2.132±0.008. This result supports the conjecture by Racz and Collins that z is equal to 17/8 in the two-dimensional kinetic Ising model (Racz and Collins; Rhys. Rev. B 13 (1976) 3074).

HIGH SPEED ALGORITHMS AND SIMULATIONS OF THE CRITICAL DYNAMICS OF THE ISING MODEL

Hans-Otto Heuer

We review the development of Monte Carlo algorithms for the simulation of the Ising model with local dynamics. The multi lattice coding algorithm for the pure and for the site-disordered Ising model is described in detail. Application of these algorithms on fast vector computers have led to new progress concerning the critical dynamics of the pure Ising model leading to the critical exponent z = 2:05. The importance of disorder for the critical dynamics of the Ising model has been investigated recently. We review the numerical results and compare with theoretical predictions. A crossover scenario is found as for the static behavior with an effective dynamical exponent z = 1:75 fl. 1 Introduction The Ising model is a standard model in statistical physics for the description of a ferromagnet in an extremely simplified manner. It is assumed that quantum spin operators may be replaced by classical spins S i = \\Sigma 1 which are oriented parallel or antiparallel to a magnetic filed H: H...

SHORT-TIME CRITICAL DYNAMICS OF MULTISPIN INTERACTION ISING MODEL IN TWO DIMENSIONS

L. WANG, J. B. Zhang, H. P. Ying +1 more

We investigated the short-time dynamics of a multispin model in two dimensions. A dynamical Monte Carlo simulation which avoids the critical slowing down is performed at critical temperature and the short-time dynamic scaling behavior is found. By using the universal power-law scaling features, the critical exponents θ, z and 2β/ν are estimated in our calculations.

Dynamic Monte Carlo renormalization-group method

Martin-D. Lacasse, Jorge Viñals, Martin Grant

The dynamical critical exponent of the two-dimensional spin-flip Ising model is evaluated by a Monte Carlo renormalization-group method involving a transformation in time. The results agree very well with a finite-size scaling analysis performed on the same data. The value of z=2.13\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.01 is obtained, which is consistent with most recent estimates.

TWO-TEMPERATURE NON-EQUILIBRIUM ISING MODELS

Pablo Tamayo, Rajan Gupta, Francis J. Alexander

We present results from a computational study of a class of 2D two-temperature non-equilibrium Ising models. In these systems the dynamics is a local competition of two equilibrium dynamics at different temperatures. We analyzed non-equilibrium versions of Metropolis, heat bath/Glauber and Swendsen-Wang dynamics and found strong evidence that some of these dynamics have the same critical exponents and belong to the same universality class as the equilibrium 2D Ising model.

Study on dynamical critical exponents of the Ising model using the damage spreading method

F Wang, Naomichi Hatano, Masuo Suzuki

The dynamical behaviour of the Ising model with heat-bath dynamics is studied. According to our investigation of the model using the damage spreading method, the dynamical phase transition temperature is estimated as 4.52+or-0.03 for the 3D Ising model. The dynamical critical exponent z has been obtained as 2.16+or-0.04 for the 2D ferromagnet and 2.09+or-0.04 for the 3D Ising model. The scaling property of magnetization is obtained.
