Abstract

In this Comment we present a counterexample to theorems 2 and 3 from Chau [Phys. Rev. A 58, 905 (1998)] regarding quantum convolutional codes. © 2005 The American Physical Society.

In their Comment, de Almeida and Palazzo ͓Phys.Rev. A 72, 026301 ͑2005͔͒ discovered an error in my earlier paper concerning the construction of quantum convolutional codes ͓Phys.Rev. A 58, 905 ͑1998͔͒.This error can be repaired by modifying the method of code construction.

We point out that the error-correcting circuit given by M. B. Plenio et al. [Phys. Rev. A 55, 4593 (1997)] needs some correction.Received 13 July 2011DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevA.84.046101©2011 American Physical Society

Comment on “Quantum multiplication algorithm based on the convolution theorem”

Philipp Pfeffer

In their recent paper, Ramezani [] presented a quantum multiplication algorithm with O ( N log 2 ( N ) ) operations, while the best classical algorithm [Harvey and van der Hoeven, ] needs O ( N log ( N ) ) operations. This Comment corrects the incompleteness of the quantum complexity, showing that the classical method performs better. Published by the American Physical Society 2024
