Abstract

The quantum statistical properties of two field modes are studied for a three-level atom with multiphoton transition interacting with two cavity fields. By numerical calculations it is shown that, in the continual absorbing and emitting photons of the interacting system a "photon submergence," the bunching and antibunching effects of two modes, exists. In addition, the impact of the atom's one transition photon numbers and the initial mean photon number of two modes on these effects are discussed in detail.

Quantum Statistic Properties of a Two-Mode Cavity Field Resonantly Interacting with a Three-Level V-Type Atom

Zheng Nai-qing

Quantum statistic properties of a two-mode field initially in a coherent state resonantly interacting with a three-level V-type atom are investigated by means of the quantum theory and numerical calculations. The dependence of the sub-Poisson statistics, the coherent properties of two-mode cavity field, photon bunching and anti-bunching,and the violations of Cauchy-Schwarz inequality on the average photon number of the cavity mode, the coupling constant and the interaction time is discussed in three cases:(1) no state-selective measurement on the atom;(2) direct state-selective measurement on the atom;(3) state-selective measurement on the atom after the application of a classical field. The results indicate, when the state-selective measurement is performed on the atom, the sub-Poisson statistic properties is distinctly enhanced, the anti-correlative degree between two-mode is distinctly deadened, and the Cauchy-Schwarz inequality is always violated;the mode a anti-bunching exhibits when the state-selective measurement is performed on the atom and the average photon number difference of the two cavity modes is large.

Quantum properties in the system of atom interacting with twomode cavity

We consider the system which is composed of a two-level atom and a two-mode cavity, and two modes are coupled in the cavity. The evolution of the state vector of the system is given. The squeezing, antibunching effect and the photon number statistical distribution of two-mode field are investigated.First, through calculating the fluctuations of two quadrature components of the field,we get that a-mode and b-mode of two-mode field do not both display squeezing.Second,by calculating second-order correlation function of two-mode field, the results show that a-mode and b-mode of two-mode field both display antibunching effects, and there is anti-correlation between the two modes.Third,by means of the numerical calculations,we plot evolution curves of Mandel Q function for different values of the coupling constants between two modes.Through comparing these curves, the influence of coupling constant between two modes on the photon number statistical distribution of the field is discussed. The evolution curves of Mandel Q function show that the two-mode cavity field displays sub-Poisson distribution. Moreover, the sub-Poisson distribution is weakened with increasing of the coupling constant between two modes.

Statistic Properties of Photon in the System of the Two-mode Entangled Coherent Field Interacting with Atoms in Bell States

Zhuo‐Liang Cao

The statistic properties of photon of a light-atoms interaction system, and two atoms in Bell states interacting with two-mode entangled coherent field, were investigated by means of quantum theory and numerical method. The effect on the statistic properties of photon induced by the atomic initial state, mean photon numbers of field, the degree of the entanglement for the entangled coherent fields, and the coupling strength of dipole-dipole interaction between atoms were analyzed by numerical calculations. The results indicate that photon anti-bunching effect does not appear for the Bell state |β00〉 or |β10〉,however there can appear the photon anti-bunching effect under some conditions for the Bell state |β01〉 or |β11〉 appears. In the case, the photon anti-bunching effect depends on the mean photon numbers intensively. The influence of the degree of entanglement for the two-mode entangled coherent fields and the coupling strength of dipole-dipole interaction between atoms on the statistic properties of photon is small.

Quantum Properties of the Field in the System of Λ-type Three-level Atom Interacting with Two-mode Coherent Light Field

卢道明 LU Dao-ming

Considering two Λ-type three-level atoms initially in the entangled state, one atom is poured into the cavity and interacts with a two-mode cavity. The squeezing and antibunching effects of the field are investigated. The influences of the selective atomic measurement and the intensity of the coherent field, which interacts with atom on squeezing and antibunching effect of the field, are discussed. The results obtained by numerical calculations show that squeezing and antibunching effect of the field can be strengthened through selective atomic measurement for atom outside of the cavity.

Eugene K. Bashkirov, Русакова Маргарита Сергеевна

The dynamics of detuned two-level Jaynes-Cummings model with multiphoton transitions in the finite Q-cavity has been considered. The time evolution of the mean photon number and atomic populations has been investigated for various values of the model parameters. The type of field statistics and photon bunching/antibunching effects has been examined.
