Generation of maximally entangled states via dispersive interactions

Abstract

We propose a simple method to generate in practice the most general two-mode states with maximum entanglement. The method is based on energy-conserving dispersive interactions that can be easily implemented in different context such as quantum optical fields, quantum motion of trapped ions, or in Bose-Einstein condensates.

Generation of Two-Mode Nonclassical States via Dispersive Interaction in Trapped-Ion Cavity Quantum Electrodynamics

Wen‐Xing Yang, Zhiming Zhan, Jiahua Li

We propose a simple method to generate a practical SU(2)-Schrödinger-cat state of a single trapped-ion vibration mode and the light field state, using the method based on a quantum system, which is composed of the one-dimensional trapped-ion motion and a single cavity field mode. Moreover, we discuss the methods proposed so far for the generation two-mode maximal quantum entangled state. The detection of such a state is also briefly discussed.

Maximally entangled states of a bimodal cavity field

Anna Napoli, Antonio Messina

A simple scheme for the generation of a class of maximally entangled two-mode field states is presented. Our proposal provides the possibility of manipulating the quantum coherence between the superposed states, simply varying an experimentally easily controllable parameter. The practical feasibility of the method here reported is carefully discussed.

Efficient Scheme for the Deterministic Maximal Entanglement of N Trapped Ions

Jörg Steinbach, Christopher C. Gerry

We propose a method for generating maximally entangled states of $N$ two-level trapped ions. The method is deterministic and independent of the number of ions in the trap. It involves a controlled NOT acting simultaneously on all the ions through a dispersive interaction. We explore the potential application of our scheme for high precision frequency standards.

We propose a simple method to generate a practical SU(2)-Schroedinger-cat state of a single trapped-ion vibration mode and the light field state, using the method based on a quantum system, which is composed of the onedimensional trapped-ion motion and a single cavity field mode. Generation of Entangled Coherent States in Raman-Coupled Bose-Einstein Condensates

KUANGLe-Man, ZENGAi-Hua, KUANGZhen-Hua

A method for producing entangled coherent states (ECSs) for atomic Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) ispresented. The proposed method involves a BEC with three internal states and two classical laser beams ina three-level Lambda configuration. We show how to generate multi-state ECSs through properly manipulatingstrengths of these interactions and laser detunings. A maximally entangled coherent state is obtained explicitly.

Entanglement generation by a dispersive vacuum

Luis Roa, R. Pozo-González, Marius Schaefer +1 more

We study how the entanglement between two atoms can be created or modified even when they do not interact but when each of them interacts dispersively, i.e., weak and far from the resonance, with a single mode of the field. In particular, we study two cases: First we consider each atom to be initially in a pure state and secondly we assume that they start in a Werner state. Analytically we find that both atoms can, periodically, reach maximum entanglement if each of them starts in any state belonging to the Bloch sphere equator, independent of the initial Fock state of the mode. Thus, in particular, we find that a dispersive vacuum mode can generate entanglement between two two-level atoms. In the second case, when the field mode is initially in a coherent or thermal state we find that, in the high energy limit, in general there is no entanglement between the two atoms. However, at well defined moments, the initial entanglement appears and disappears suddenly, becoming a narrow entanglement-beats structure.
