Fuzzy Approach for Quantum Processors using Qutrits

Pradheep Kumar K

In this work, a fuzzy approach for Quantum processors using Qutrits has been proposed. Today Quantum computing has gained importance, as we need to have more computing power for transmitting large amount of data. Use of bits to transfer data, limits the amount of data and power as bits are capable of transmitting data in only two states namely 0 and 1. Qubits and Qutrits facilitate transmitting data in multiple states. This approach creates more states compared to those provided by bits. However, it would be ideal if more number of states are available for large amount of data processing. The fuzzy qubit approach attempts to enhance the number of states by using fuzzy membership functions. It takes into account the photon spin motion in generating the number of states. The Fuzzy Qutrit approach has been on Python platform using Qiskit package and it was observed that the computation time has reduced by 33%, compared to the conventional Fuzzy Qubit approach.

To What Extent Can Fuzzy Cognitive Maps Be Quantum?

Τheofanis Kalampokas, George A. Papakostas

Quantum Machine Learning (QML) has emerged as a groundbreaking approach within the rapidly evolving field of Quantum Computing (QC), leveraging quantum phenomena such as superposition and entanglement to surpass classical models in representational power, optimization speed, and computational efficiency. This paradigm shift paves the way for transformative applications across diverse domains while simultaneously confronting the inherent complexities of quantum mechanics and hardware limitations. Among the powerful computational models used for decision-making and pattern recognition, Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (FCMs) have demonstrated exceptional capabilities in modeling complex systems. Researchers have continually refined the traditional FCM framework by integrating novel features to enhance its effectiveness. However, despite its potential, the integration of quantum computing with FCMs remains largely unexplored, with only a limited number of studies addressing this intersection. This work provides a comprehensive theoretical algorithmic evaluation of the integration between Quantum Computing and FCMs, investigating potential advancements, challenges, and novel applications. Additionally, we present a systematic review of existing research on Quantum Fuzzy Cognitive Maps (QFCMs), offering new insights into their theoretical foundations and future directions. By bridging the gap between quantum computing and cognitive modeling, this study aims to unlock new possibilities for intelligent decision-making systems in the quantum era.

Quantum fuzzy neural network based on fuzzy number

Xin Yang

Neural network is one of the AI algorithms commonly used to process data, and has an extremely important position in scenarios such as image recognition, classification, and machine translation. With the increase of data volume explosion, the required computing power of neural networks is also significantly increased. The emergence of quantum neural networks improves the computational power of neural networks, but the accuracy of neural networks and quantum neural networks is not high in the face of the complexity and uncertainty of big data. In order to improve the efficiency and accuracy, the cross-fusion of "fuzzy number theory + quantum neural network" is proposed to study the quantum fuzzy neural network (FQNN) based on fuzzy number. The Gaussian fuzzy function is used to generate the corresponding fuzzy affiliation matrix to describe the uncertain information in the data. The fuzzy independent variables are trained through the FQNN model, and the model is output after changing the parameters of the quantum forward propagation layer. Simulation experiments show that the quantum fuzzy neural network model based on fuzzy number is more efficient and accurate in this study compared with the quantum neural network model.
