Abstract

We consider a model consisting of three two-level atoms in a heavily damped cavity. We show that the quantum-jump-based feedback can be used to generate a steady entangled state of three atoms against decoherence. When the feedback acts on just one of the atoms, it can protect a maximally entangled state of other two atoms. When the feedback acts on three atoms, by choosing appropriate parameters we can obtain a decoherence-free subspace spanned by two vectors, and by using quantum trajectory Monte Carlo wave function method we find that the maximally entangled state of three atoms in this decoherence-free subspace can be obtained for some specific initial conditions.

We consider a model consisting of two (two-level) atoms which are placed in two separated heavily damped cavities respectively. We show that the quantum-jump-based feedback based on joint measurement can be used to generate a steady entangled state between two atoms against decoherence. We analyse the effects of general local control Hamiltonians in the performance of entanglement production and show that by choosing a proper control Hamiltonian the steady maximal entanglement between two separated atoms can be protected.

Entanglement dynamics of three atoms under quantum-jump-based feedback control

Li Chen, Hong‐Fu Wang, Shou Zhang

We investigate entanglement dynamics of three driven atoms off-resonantly coupled with a single-mode cavity under quantum-jump-based feedback control. The results demonstrate that the tripartite entanglement can be effectively enhanced and the steady W state and asymmetric W states can be obtained by setting the Rabi frequencies of classical fields and choosing the local quantum feedback control. Furthermore, the tripartite decoherence-free entangled states are found when the atoms are driven by classical fields with appropriate Rabi frequencies. The asymmetric W states and W state can be converted into each other via feedback control. In theory, the multiqubit W state can be generated and stabilized by our approach.

Controlling Entanglement by Quantum-Jump-Based Feedback

Andre R. R. Carvalho, J. J. Hope

We describe how feedback methods can be implemented to produce and stabilize entangled states of two atoms inside a cavity. Feedback control is used to engineer an effective environment dynamics, such that the entangled state to be protected is a steady state of the system. The control strategy is therefore robust with respect to external noises and fundamental decoherence sources, as spontaneous emission, for example. We also show that the scheme is mostly insensitive to practical imperfections, as detection inefficiencies and laser fluctuations.

Generation of steady four-atom decoherence-free states via quantum-jump-based feedback

Qi‐Cheng Wu, Xin Ji

A scheme is presented for generating steady four-atom decoherence-free states via four atoms with the Raman level configuration interacting with a single-mode vacuum cavity field by using quantum-jump-based feedback. The scheme meets the condition of a strongly dissipative cavity easily and has a simplified feedback control. Although the spontaneous emission still plays a negative role in the proposed system, we can improve the feedback control to reduce its effect.

Dissipative preparation of a steady three-dimensional entangled state via quantum-jump-based feedback

Li Chen, Hong‐Fu Wang, Shou Zhang

A robust and scalable scheme to generate a steady three-dimensional entangled state for a V-type atom and a Λ-type atom trapped in a strongly dissipative bimodal cavity is proposed by direct feedback control based on quantum-jump detection. The robustness of this scheme reflects in the insensitivity to detection inefficiencies and the strong ability against the parameter fluctuations in the feedback, driving, and coupling strengths. The influence of atomic spontaneous emission can be suppressed by using the local feedback control. The scalability is ensured that N -dimensional entangled states of two atoms can be deterministically generated.
