Transformations between Schrödinger equations

Abstract

It is shown how an N-dimensional Schrödinger equation, involving a particular central potential, may be related to seemingly unrelated Schrödinger equations involving other central potentials and spaces of different dimension. Two illustrative cases are given where analytically soluble Schrödinger equations are involved.

Dimensionality and Energy Levels of Quantum Mechanical Systems

Harry A. Mavromatis

The N-dimensional Schrödinger equation involving a general, central potential VN(r), is decomposed into a 3-dimensional component plus a term that may be treated as a dimension-dependent perturbation. This allows discussion of the general N-dimensional system from a 3-dimensional perspective.

Pauli equation and the method of supersymmetric factorization

M V Ioffe, A I Neelov

We consider different variants of factorization of a 2 × 2 matrix Schrödinger/Pauli operator in two spatial dimensions. They allow us to relate its spectrum to the sum of spectra of two scalar Schrödinger operators, in a manner similar to one-dimensional Darboux transformations. We consider both the case when such factorization is reduced to the ordinary two-dimensional supersymmetric quantum mechanics quasifactorization and a more general case which involves covariant derivatives. The admissible classes of electromagnetic fields are described and some illustrative examples are given.

The relations between d-dimensional isotropic oscillator and D-dimensional like-hydrogen atom

Zahra Bakhshi, Zahra Neshati

Being comparable in quantum systems makes it possible for spaces with varying dimensions to attribute each other using special conversions can attribute schrodinger equation with like-hydrogen atom potential in defined dimensions to a schrodinger equation with other certified dimensions with isotropic oscillator potential. Applying special transformation provides a relationship between different dimensions of two quantum systems. The result of the quantized isotropic oscillator can be generalized to like-hydrogen atom problem in different dimensions. The connection between coordinate spaces in different dimensions can follow a specific relation that by using it and applying the parametric definition in two problems, energy spectrum and like-hydrogen atom potential wave functions problem will be solved.
