Abstract

The influence of the interaction between atoms in Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) on the squeezing properties of atomic lasers is studied under Bogoliubov approximation. The results show that the fluctuations of two quadrature components of the atomic laser can be squeezed and the interaction between atoms in BEC is disadvantageous to the squeeze of atomic lasers.

The Squeezing Properties of the Binomial States Field Interacting with Atomic Bose-Einstein Condensate

Gong Yan-li

The squeezing properties of the binomial states field interacting with Bose-Einstein condensate(BEC) of two-level atoms were studied in this paper. The results indicated that one of the two quadrature components of light field evolves periodically with time and can be squeezed, and the system parameters influence the squeezing depth;the fluctuations of two quadrature components of the atomic laser can be squeezed alternatively as the variety of the parameter of light field interacting with atoms and the interaction among the atoms in BEC is disadvantageous to the squeezing of atomic lasers, whereas the atomic laser can show complete squeezing effects as the influence of light field is considered.

Squeezing effect of light caused by Bose-Einstein condensate composed of interac tive atoms

Zhou Ming, Fang Jia-Yuan, Huang Chun-Jia +1 more

The Hamiltonian operator of a system of single-mode light field interacting with Bose-Einstein condensate(BEC) of two-level atoms is suggested within the rotati ng-wave approximation. The influence of the interaction between atoms in the BEC on the quadrature squeezing properties of single-mode squeezed light interactin g with atomic BEC is studied under Bogoliubov approximation. The results show th at the fluctuations of two quadrature components of light evolve periodically in a cosine law and their squeezing properties are determined mainly by the initia l squeeze factor and squeeze direction angle of light, and that the interaction between atoms in BEC changes the amplitude and period of fluctuation of light.

Influence of the interaction between atoms on the squeezing of light field and atomic lasers

Ming Li, SUN JIU-XUN, 电子科技大学物理电子学院,成都 610054

The Hamiltonian operator of a system of single-mode light field interacting with Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) of two-level atoms is discussed in terms of the lattice-liquid model. It is indicated that the contribution of the interaction between atoms to the Hamiltonian was irrationally overestimated in the literature, so the Hamiltonian operator is improved in the present paper. Based on the improved Hamiltonian, the equations of motion of the photon and atomic operators are derived analytically. The relevant parameters in the model are estimated in connection with the BEC experimental conditions. The influence of the interaction between atoms in the BEC on the squeezing of light field and the atomic lasers is studied. The results show that the dependence of squeezing factor with atom number in BEC is different from that given in literature. and the fluctuations of two quadrature components of light evolve periodically with cosine law and the fluctuations of two quadrature components of the atomic laser can be squeezed.

Influence of an atomic Bose-Einstein condensate on the squeezing properties of V-type three-level atomic lasers

Ming Li

The Hamiltonian operator of a system of V-type three-level atomic Bose-Einstein condensation interacting with two-mode squeezed coherent light field is analyzed in terms of the lattice-liquid model. It is indicated that the contribution of the interaction between atoms to the Hamiltonian in the literature is irrational,so the Hamiltonian operator is improved and the squeezing properties of atomic laser coupled output from the system of V-type three-level atomic Bose-Einstein condensation interacting with two-mode squeezed coherent light field are studied. The results show that the interaction intensity of light-atoms in the Bose-Eimtein condenation has evident influence on the fluctuations of two quadrature components of the atomic laser.

Influence of the virtual photon field on the squeezing properties of atom laser

Zhao Jian-Gang, Sun Chang-Yong, Meng Xiang-Guo +2 more

The squeezing properties of atom laser are investigated with and without rotating-wave approximation by means of quantum theory in the system of optical field interacting with Bose-Einstein condensate of two-level atoms. The influences of the atomic eigenfrequency, the interaction intensity between optical field and atoms, the initial squeezing factor of optical field and the virtual photon field on the squeezing properties are discussed. The results show that two quadrature components of atom laser can be squeezed periodically. The quantum Rabi frequency and the collapse and revival frequency of atom laser fluctuation depend on the atomic eigenfrequency and the interaction intensity between optical field and atoms respectively. When the initial squeezing factor of optical field increases and the virtual photon field is considered, the degree of squeezing of the atom laser also increases.

The squeezing properties in the system of two-mode SU (1, 1) coherent states interacting with Bose-Einstein Condensate of two-level atoms

Lei Wang, Sun Chang-yong

The squeezing properties of optical field and atomic laser are studied in the system of two-mode SU (1, 1) coherent states interacting with two-level atomic BEC. The results show that two quadrature components of optical field can be squeezed periodically. The frequency of squeezing of optical field depends closely on both the interaction among atoms in BEC and the coupling constant between optical field and atoms. The maximum depth of squeezing is closely correlated to the two-mode SU (1, 1) coherent states parameters. The two quadrature components of atomic laser also can be squeezed, but it is difficult to squeeze. The maximum depth of squeezing is determined by the initial optical field.
