Abstract

We investigate the dynamical behavior of a three-level moving atom interacting with a laser field. We show that the sensitivity of atomic dynamics can be considerably improved by exploiting the spatial dependence of moving atoms within the framework of the homotopy perturbation method. The dynamics of the system is analyzed as well as the effect of various parameters including detuning and dephasing rate. The spatial dependence approach has the same properties as the time-dependent approach, but it is preferable when the time-scale is very small. The very sensitive dependence and the role of the off-resonant interaction are highlighted.

Dynamics of Entanglement Between Moving Three-Level Atom and Single Mode Cavity Field

Ahmed Salah

In this paper, we are interested in studying entropy and dynamics entanglement between a single time dependent three-level atoms interacting with one-mode cavity field when the atomic motion is taken into account. An exact analytical solution for the wave function is given by using Schrodinger equation for a specific initial condition. The field entropy of this system is investigated in the non-resonant case. The influences of the detuning parameters and atomic motion on the entanglement degree are examined. We show that both of the detuning parameters and atomic motion play important roles in the evolution of von Neumann entropy and atomic populations. Finally, conclusion and some features are given.

Local field effects on the spatiotemporal dynamics of broad-area three-level lasers

J. Mompart, V. Ahufinger, R. Corbalán +3 more

Summary form only given. It is well known that in dense media the effective field acting on an atom/molecule is no longer the macroscopic field but the so-called local field, which is due to all external sources and to all dipole moments of the atoms/molecules within the sample except the one under consideration. The inclusion of the local field effects gives rise to the prediction of a large number of interesting phenomena in optical systems, such as spectral red shifts, mirrorless optical bistability, "piezophotonic" effects, and enhancement of inversionless gain and absorptionless index in lasing without inversion. As an example, a density of 10/sup 17/ atoms/cm/sup 3/ of sodium atoms is sufficient to give rise to a shift of about 1 GHz of the sodium D line. We analyze here the role of the local field effects on the spatiotemporal dynamics of broad-area homogeneously broadened three-level lasers. In these three-level systems, laser emission in one atomic transition is investigated while an external plane-wave driving laser couples an adjacent transition. Due to the interplay between atomic nonlinearities and light diffraction, the optical wavevector of the generated laser field develops a small component in the transverse plane, i.e., the emitted laser beam is slightly tilted with respect to the cavity-axis.

Dynamics of Hermite-Gaussian Beam Propagation in a Five-Level Tripod-Type Atomic Medium with Spatially Dependent Refractive Index

Muhammad Tariq, Abuzar Khan

This research investigates the intricate interplay between a Hermite-Gaussian (HG) weak probe field and a five-level tripod atomic medium, modulated by three laser fields. The atomic medium's refractive index is made spatially dependent by a Hermite-Gaussian beam of light and influenced further by a Kerr field and a control field. The study focuses on exploring the impact of key parameters on the propagation dynamics of the HG probe field. The primary parameters under scrutiny include the probe field detuning ($\Delta_P/\gamma$), Kerr, coherent pump, and control field characteristics such as Rabi frequencies and detunings ($\Omega_{1,2,3}/\gamma$, $\Delta_{1,2,3}/\gamma$), as well as spatial coordinates $x/\omega_0$ and $y/\omega_0$, where $\omega_0$ denotes the Gaussian beam waist. Through systematic analysis, we elucidate the intricate effects of these parameters on the modulation of the HG probe field within the atomic medium. The study not only contributes to the fundamental understanding of light-matter interactions in complex atomic systems but also holds promise for potential applications in quantum information processing and communication. The results provide valuable insights into the control and manipulation of light beams in spatially varying media, paving the way for advancements in quantum optics and atomic physics.

We discuss the dynamical properties of quantum entanglement and partial entropy for moving three-level atom interacting with single-mode quantized field inside a phase-damped cavity for more general cases. The results show that the atomic motion and decoherence effects play an important role on the evolution of the system dynamics and quantum entanglement. Moreover, we show that the phenomena of long lived nonlocal correlation and short temporal disentanglement can be generated through specific values of phase damping and atomic motion parameter.
