Dynamical spin correlations in the Heisenberg ladder under a magnetic field and correlation functions in the SO(5) ladder

Akira Furusaki, Shoucheng Zhang

The zero-temperature dynamical spin-spin correlation functions are calculated for the spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ two-leg antiferromagnetic Heisenberg ladder in a magnetic field above the lower critical field ${H}_{c1}$. The dynamical structure factors are calculated, which exhibit both massless modes and massive excitations. These modes appear in different sectors characterized by the parity in the rung direction and by the momentum in the direction of the chains. The structure factors have power-law singularities at the lower edges of their support. The results are also applicable to the spin-1 Heisenberg chain. The implications are briefly discussed for the various correlation functions and the $\ensuremath{\pi}$ resonance in the SO(5) symmetric ladder model.

Magnetic order in ferromagnetically coupled spin ladders

Sergio D. Dalosto, José A. Riera

A model of coupled antiferromagnetic spin-1/2 Heisenberg ladders is studied with numerical techniques. In the case of ferromagnetic interladder coupling we find that the dynamic and static structure factor has a peak at $(\ensuremath{\pi},\ensuremath{\pi}/2)$ where the first (second) direction is along (transversal) to the ladders. In addition, we suggest that the intensity of this peak and the spin-spin correlation at the maximum distance along the ladder direction remain finite in the bulk limit for strong enough interladder coupling. We discuss the relevance of these results for magnetic compounds containing ladders coupled in a trellis lattice and for the stripe scenario in high-${T}_{c}$ superconducting cuprates.

Dynamical correlation functions in spin-1/21/21/2 ladders under a magnetic field
