How Intense Electromagnetic Wave Affects Photoassociation

M. A. Kutlan

The influence of intense electromagnetic wave on photoassociation is investigated. The quantum-mechanical problem of the stimulated transition is considered. The probabilities for stimulated production of mesic atoms in states with large principal quantum numbers are calculated.

The Image Conversion in Optical Echo-Holography by External Electromagnetic Standing Waves

Guzel I. Garnaeva, Leonid A. Nefediev, А. Р. Сахбиева

The recording and playback of information using a reverse stimulated photon—echo hologram when exposed to the recording medium pulse of non-resonant electromagnetic standing wave was considered. It was shown that the spatial intensity distribution in stimulated echo hologram response depended on the electric field intensity of non-resonant standing wave that allowed controlling by a reproducible image.

Matter-field entropy transfer in stimulated photoassociation

Amichay Vardi, Moshe Shapiro

We study the quantum statistics of stimulated photoassociation, using system-reservoir dynamics. We show that, contrary to ``common wisdom,'' spontaneous emission is not the only mechanism by which entropy loss from a material system to a radiation field can occur. By formally treating the matter waves as the bath and the stimulating radiation field as the system, we are able to derive a Lindblad-type equation for the time dependence of the reduced radiation density matrix and show that entropy exchange between matter and radiation in stimulated photoassociation is indeed possible.
