New Approach to the Ising ModeI. II

R. W. Gibberd, C. A. Hurst

Onsager's results for the partition and correlation functions for the Ising model on a two-dimensional rectangular lattice are rederived using a Green's function technique. The definition of the Green's function is based on a recently published casting of the Ising model into a many-body fermion problem. The relation between this approach and other methods used for solving the Ising problem are indicated.

A Method of a Quasi-Linear Canonical Transformation for the Many-Body Problem. I

Shokichi Kanno

A general method of a quasi-linear canonical transformation is introduced as an approach to the many-body problems. In this method the n-body problem can be solved if the (n-1)-body problem is assumed to be solved. In the application of this method to the system of N bosons, there appears no logarithmic divergent term in the physical quantities which correspond to the self-energy operators Σ11 and Σ02 appearing in the method of Green's function.

Spinless Bosons in a 1D Harmonic Trap with Repulsive Delta Function Interparticle Interaction I: General Theory

Zhong-Qi Ma, Chongming Yang

In these two papers, we solve the N body 1D harmonically trapped spinless Boson problem with repulsive δ function interaction in the limit N → ∞ . The general theory is given in paper I and the numerical solutions will be given in paper II.
