Exciting field phase effect on the entanglement death and birth phenomena for nonlinear coupler system

We consider time-evolution of the disentanglement process of once generated entangled qubit pair as a result of the phase variation of the pumping field. As a source of maximally entangled states we use the nonlinear coupler (two oscillators with Kerr-like nonlinearities) with nonlinear internal interactions. The coupler prepared in a maximally entangled state interacts afterwards with external reservoir of thermal character and pumping field as well. We show that the fact of the coupling with additional state (which can create additional entanglement with one of the 2-qubit system's previously entangled states) is an origin of interesting entanglement decay behaviour. We can observe shortening of both: entanglement death-time and entanglement birth caused by changing the phase of an external driving field.

The phase of the coupling effect on entanglement decay in the nonlinear coupler system

A. Kowalewska-Kudłaszyk, W. Leoński

We consider the influence of the phase of internal coupling within a nonlinear Kerr-like coupler on entanglement decay. Assuming that the coupler interacts with an external reservoir, we show that by changing this phase we can obtain qualitatively various types of entanglement decay. In consequence, we are able to control the occurrence of sudden death and sudden birth phenomena.

Sudden death and birth of entanglement effects for Kerr-nonlinear coupler

A. Kowalewska-Kudłaszyk, W. Leoński

We analyze the entanglement dynamics in a nonlinear Kerr-like coupler interacting with external environment. Whenever the reservoir is in a thermal vacuum state, the entanglement (measured by concurrence for a two-qubit system) exhibits regular oscillations of decreasing amplitude. In contrast, for thermal reservoirs we can observe dark periods in concurrence oscillations (which can be called a sudden death of the entanglement) and the entanglement rebuild (which can be named the sudden birth of entanglement). We show that these features can be observed when we deal with two-qubit system as well as qubit-qutrit system.

Generation of Maximally Entangled States by a Kerr-like Nonlinear Coupler Interacting with External Fields

Doan Quoc Khoa, Luong Thi Tu Oanh, Chu Van Lanh +2 more

We study a model with two nonlinear oscillators (Kerr-like nonlinear coupler) pumped by two external coherent fields as a nonlinear quantum scissor (NQS). Using the numerical simulation method introduced before for quantum state engineering in NQS of such type, we obtain the wave function describing the evolution of the system as a combination of n-photon states. Considered NQS generates a truncation of optical states that leads to achieve two-qubit states due to the nonlinear properties of oscillators and their interaction. In particular, evolution of the system generates maximally entangled states as so-called Bell-like states. We will show that a proper choice of initial conditions for such evolution implies the increase of efficiency of entanglement creation process. We consider our model for both damping and without damping cases.

Nonlinear coupler and qutrit-qubit entanglement

A. Kowalewska-Kudłaszyk

A nonlinear Kerr-coupler with nonlinear interaction between its parts is analyzed as a source of qutrit-qubit entanglement. Formation of maximal entanglement within 3⊗2 system is found and various types of entanglement decay (asymptotic and sudden entanglement death) in the amplitude damping reservoir are considered.

Sudden death of entanglement and its rebirth in a system of two nonlinear oscillators

A. Kowalewska-Kudłaszyk, W. Leoński

The problem of generating a sudden death and sudden birth of entanglement in a system of two nonlinear oscillators interacting with an external reservoir is presented. The physical mechanism needed for observing these phenomena is indicated. It is found that an external driving field (coupling to one of the nonlinear oscillator modes) can be responsible for entanglement return to the system considered.
