Abstract

This paper has studied the correlation of economic systems in the market for goods by using the concept of state and the concept of observable in quantum mechanics. Also proposed the concept of economical mass as an economic actor counterparts concept of inertia or inertia in physics. Studied the things that determine the mass of a principal economic economical. Discussed the possibility of applying the model to market goods with commodities and M N economic actors using the concept of Quantum Many Body Problem. Classical and Quantum Physics in Selected Economic Models

Ewa Drabik

Classical and Quantum Physics in Selected Economic Models A growing number of economic phenomena are nowadays described with methods known in physics. The most frequently applied physical theories by economists are: (1) the universal gravitation law and (2) the first and second law of thermodynamics. Physical principles can also be applied to the theory of financial markets. Financial markets are composed of individual participants who may be seen to interact as particles in a physical system. This approach proposes a financial market model known as a minority game model in which securities and money are allocated on the basis of price fluctuations, and where selling is best option when the vast majority of investors tend to purchase goods or services, and vice versa. The players who end up being on the minority side win. The above applications of physical methods in economics are deeply rooted in classical physics. However, this paper aims to introduce the basic concepts of quantum mechanics to the process of economic phenomena modelling. Quantum mechanics is a theory describing the behaviour of microscopic objects and is grounded on the principle of wave-particle duality. It is assumed that quantum-scale objects at the same time exhibit both wave-like and particle-like properties. The key role in quantum mechanics is played by: (1) the Schrödinger equation describing the probability amplitude for the particle to be found in a given position and at a given time, and as (2) the Heisenberg uncertainty principle stating that certain pairs of physical properties cannot be economic applications of the Schrödinger equation as well as the Heisenberg uncertainty principle. We also try to describe the English auction by means the quantum mechanics methods.

HEISENBERG UNCERTAINTY PRINCIPLE AND ECONOMIC CRISES

V. M. Soloviev, Vladimir Saptsin

Approaching physics as the way to predict the results of experiments is good enough for physics as it is. However the transition of its notions and mathematical apparatus to systems of different nature requires obligatory in-depth analysis of its initial concepts. Econophysics is a young interdisciplinary scientific field, which developed and acquired its name at the end of the last century. Quantum econophysics, a direction distinguished by the use of mathematical apparatus of quantum mechanics as well as its fundamental conceptual ideas and relativistic aspects, developed within its boundaries just a couple of years later, in the first decade of the 21-st century. In this paper from quantum econophysics positions, attained by moderntheoretical physics in understanding of the universe bases, the methodological and philosophicalanalysis of fundamental physical concepts and their formal and informal connections with thereal economic measurings is carried out. The possibility of introducing economic equivalents ofphysical quantities in order to describe socio-economic processes using the quantum uncertaintyprinciple is shown. Procedures for heterogeneous economic time determination, normalizedeconomic coordinates and economic mass are offered, based on the analysis of time series, theconcept of economic Plank's constant is proposed. A theory is approved on the real economicdynamic's time series, including crises stock market indices. It is shown that the effective mass ofthe time series universally decreases before the crisis period, which may be an indicator of thecrisis phenomena.

On Certain Analogies Between the Laws of Quantum Mechanics and Rules of an English Auction

Ewa Drabik

On Certain Analogies Between the Laws of Quantum Mechanics and Rules of an English Auction It is a self-evident truth that nowadays a growing number of economic phenomena is described by means of physics methods. The most frequent theories derived from physics and applied to economy are: (1) the universal gravitation law and (2) the first as well as the second law of thermodynamics. The methods of static physics are applicable also to the theory of financial markets. In this case it is assumed that the financial market is composed of single participants interacting as a system of particles. Such approach is associated with a model of financial market otherwise known as a minority game. It is postulated that the process of securities and money allocation is performed on the basis of prices fluctuation, where - if a vast majority of investors tend to purchase goods or services - the sale constitutes a more profitable option, and vice versa. The players who end up on minority side win. At the end of the XX century the economy commenced to apply the laws of quantum mechanics. These laws proved to be useful, in particular when attempting to generalize game theory, which resulted in quantum games. The aim of the paper is to compare the rules and auction mechanisms with selected laws of quantum mechanics. This paper aims also to introduce the basic concepts of quantum mechanics to the process of economic phenomena modeling. Quantum mechanics is a theory describing a behaviour of microscopic objects and is grounded on the principle of wave-particle duality. It is assumed that quantum-scale objects at the same time exhibit both wave-like and particle-like properties. The key role in quantum mechanics is played by: (1) the Schrödinger equation describing the probability amplitude for the particle to be found at a given position and at a given time, as well as (2) the Heisenberg uncertainty principle stating that a certain pair of physical properties may not be simultaneously measured to arbitrarily high precision.

Methods of mathematical quantum theory in selected economic models

Agnieszka Matylda Schlichtinger

The issue of using the physical method in economics is no longer an innovative idea. However, nowadays the methods of mathematical quantum mechanics are also applied to economic sciences. This is the natural result of the fact that as applicable in quantum mechanics, mathematical spaces and tools turn out to be useful in other fields of science. Then it is possible to assume that the problem of the choice of the space is a universal question that is associated not only with mathematics and physics but also with economics or social sciences. In this paper the author considers various formulations of Hilbert space in relation to finite-dimensional quantum mechanics which constitutes a fundament to also apply my outcomes in economics. On the basis of mathematical considerations the author puts forward the hypothesis that the complex Hilbert space is characterized with numerous advantages in relation to its real and quaternionic alternativesThe issue of using the physical method in economics is no longer an innovative idea. Vladimir I. Soloviev, Vladimir Saptsin

From positions, attained by modern theoretical physics in understanding of the universe bases, the methodological and philosophical analysis of fundamental physical concepts and their formal and informal connections with the real economic measurings is carried out. Procedures for heterogeneous economic time determination, normalized economic coordinates and economic mass are offered, based on the analysis of time series, the concept of economic Plank's constant has been proposed. The theory has been approved on the real economic dynamic's time series, including stock indices, Forex and spot prices, the achieved results are open for discussion.

What Is Really Quantum in Quantum Econophysics?

Gianni Arioli, Giovanni Valente

Econophysics is a branch of economics that applies concepts and methods from physics to the financial markets. This article focuses on the approaches to quantum finance developed by Kirill Ilinski and Belal E. Baaquie to deal with the uncertainty characterizing financial time series. Allegedly, their models rest on a formal analogy between quantum mechanics and finance. In order to evaluate them, we raise the question what is really quantum in quantum econophysics. We then argue that the supposed analogy breaks in an important manner, which is relevant to explain the empirical success of the proposed models.
