Abstract

A scheme is proposed to generate W state with qubits of superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs), based on adiabatic passage along dark state. Taking advantages of adiabatic passage, the scheme is very robust against decoherence, and it does not need to control the classical field and the interaction time accurately. Because of the achievable strong coupling between SQUID qubits and cavity, W state can be generated with high successful probability.

Generation of N -qubit W states with rf SQUID qubits by adiabatic passage

Z. J. Deng, K. Gao, Mang Feng

A simple scheme is presented to generate $N$-qubit $W$ states with rf superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs) in cavity QED through adiabatic passage. Because of the achievable strong coupling for rf SQUID qubits embedded in cavity QED, we can get the desired state with high success probability. Furthermore, the scheme is insensitive to the position inaccuracy of the rf SQUID. Numerical simulation shows that, by using present experimental techniques, we can achieve our scheme with very high success probability, and the fidelity could eventually be unity with the help of dissipation.

Preparation of W State with Superconducting Quantum-Interference Devices in a Cavity via Adiabatic Passage

Anshou Zheng, Shen Xiao-Fang, Ji-Bing Liu +2 more

We propose an alternative scheme to prepare W state by using superconducting quantum-interference devices (SQUIDs) coupled to a largely-detuned cavity. The present scheme is based on evolution by adiabatic passage, where only by tuning adiabatically the Rabi frequencies of the classical microwave pulses we can obtain the standard W state without measurement or any auxiliary SQUIDs. Thus the procedure is simplified and the scheme can be achieved with very high success probability since the errors in dynamical or geometric ways can be avoided. In addition, the SQUID system and the cavity have no probability of being excited state. Thus decoherence caused by the excited-level spontaneous emission or the cavity decay is suppressed.

Quantum computation and W -state generation using superconducting flux qubits coupled to a cavity without geometric and dynamical manipulation

Based on superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUID's) coupled to a cavity, we propose a scheme for implementing a quantum phase-shift gate and generating a $W$ state by an adiabatic evolution of dark eigenstates, without any contributions from dynamical and geometric gates. The Sole requirement is of adiabatically increasing or decreasing Rabi frequencies of classical microwave pluses. Thus, the manipulation is robust against certain types of errors. We also analyze the experimental possibility that identical coupling can be achieved between SQUID qubits and cavity fields, and the cavity decay can be ignored in certain conditions. Based on a simple operation, our scheme may be realized in this solid-state system.

Preparation of Entanglement and Schrödinger Cat States of Superconducting Quantum Interference Devices Qubits via Coupling to a Microwave Cavity

An alternative scheme is proposed for the generation of n-qubit W states of superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUID) in cavity QED. In this scheme, Raman coupling of two lower flux states of SQUID system is achieved via a microwave pulse and the cavity mode. Conditioned on no photon leakage from the cavity, the n-qubit W state can be generated whether the effective coupling parameters of the SQUID to cavity mode and classical microwave fields are the same or different. Our strictly numerical simulations of the time evolution of the system including decay show that the success probability of our scheme is almost unity and the interaction time is on the order of 10 −9 s. The scheme can also be used to generate the Schrödinger cat states of multi-SQUID.

Efficient Scheme for One-Way Quantum Computing with Radiofrequency SQUID Qubits by Adiabatic Passage

We proposed an efficient scheme for constructing a quantum controlled phase-shift gate and generating the cluster states with rf superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs) coupled to a microwave cavity through adiabatic evolution of dark eigenstates. During the operation, the spontaneous emission is suppressed since the rf SQUIDs are always in the three lowest flux states. Considering the influence from the cavity decay with achievable experimental parameters, we numerically analyze the success probability and the fidelity for generating the two-SQUID maximally entangled state and the controlled phase-shift gate by adiabatic passage.

Entangled W State Generation via Adiabatic Passage in Cavity QED

Ma Song-She

A scheme is proposed to generate W state of N atoms trapped in a cavity, based on adiabatic passage along dark state. Taking advantage of adiabatic passage, the atoms have no probability of being excited and thus the atomic spontaneous emission is suppressed. The scheme is simple. It does not need to adjust the interaction time accurately, and does not need to prepare the cavity field in one-photon state. Numerical simulation shows that the successful probability of the scheme increases with the increasing of the atom number.
