Abstract

The characteristics of solitons with a localized impurity in Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) are investigated with numerical simulations of the Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equation, the effects of the impurity on BEC solitons are discussed, and the atom population transferring ratios between the two BECs as time goes on are analyzed. It is found that population transfer depends on the impurity strength and the parameters of the system of BECs.

Hong Li

The evolution of Bose-Einstein condensate soliton with a localized impurity is investigated by the numerical simulations of the Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equation. It is found that the impurity has very important effect on the characteristics of the BEC solution that varying with time. The effect depends on the impurity strength, the magnitude and trap and the sort of conventional trap.

Effects of the localized impurity on a trap on characteristics of evolution and interaction of a few bose-einstein condensate solitons

Yongshan Cheng

The effects of the localized impurity in a conventional potential on the characteristics of the evolution and interaction of a few Bose-Einstein Con-densate(BEC)solitons are investigated by direct numerical simulations of the coupling Nonlinear Schrodinger equations. It is found that such effects depend on the strength and features of the impurity, and are related to the amplitude of the trapping potential, the parameters of the BEC soliton system and the initial condition.

Effects of periodic or aperiodic trap on characteristics of three Bose-Einstein solitons

Dejing Yin

The characteristics of the switching and the self-trap of bright solitons in a Bose Einstein condensates (BEC) system of periodic or aperiodic traps are investigated and the evolution of the BEC solitons as time changes is discussed. The atom population transferring ratios among the three BECs as time changes are analyzed, and it is found that population transfer among the three BECs depends on sort of traps, and changes in a periodic or aperiodic manner as the time changes.

The evolution of bose-einstein condensate solitons with three-body interaction

Yongshan Cheng, Gong Rong-zhou

The evolution characteristics of the Bose-Einstein Condensate(BEC) soliton with three-body interactions are investigated with a variational approach and direct numerical simulations of the Gross-Pitaevskii-Ginzburg equation. It is found that the effects of the three-body interactions on the evolution characteristics of the BEC soliton are larger than the effecs of the two-body interactions. Its effect depends on the sign of the interactions, the number of atoms in the trap, the coefficient of the trap and the initial pulse width of the BECs soliton.

Dynamics of two coupled Bose-Einstein Condensate solitons in an optical lattice

Yongshan Cheng, Rongzhou Gong, Hong Li

The characteristics of two coupled Bose-Einstein Condensate (BEC) bright solitons trapped in an optical lattice are investigated with the variational approach and direct numerical simulations of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation. It is found that the optical lattice can be controllably used to capture and drag the coupled BEC solitons. Its effect depends on the initial location of the BEC solitons, the lattice amplitude and wave-number, and the amplitude of the coupled BEC solitons. The effective interaction between the two coupled solitons is the attractive effect.
