The Private Information Retrieval protocol(PIR) is an important secure multi-party computation protocol. In PIR,a user can perform a query from a database without revealing his private information;meanwhile the privacy of the database will be protected, too. This paper proposes a new scheme in which we apply cryptographic technology on the auxiliary random servers protocol to solve the problem of PIR.This scheme is efficient in computational complexity and doesn't increase the cost of communication. It is very practical and can retrieve a block of bits.Detailed analysis of security, computational complexity and communicational complexity to the scheme is also given in this paper.
This paper proposes a novel communication protocol security authentication scheme leveraging the inherent randomness of quantum noise. The core claim is to enhance communication security by exploiting this randomness for key generation, information encryption, and ultimately, secure authentication. The proposed mechanism involves designing a protocol where quantum noise is intentionally introduced during key exchange and transmission, fundamentally disrupting traditional cryptographic attacks reliant on predictable patterns. Statistical analysis of the noise patterns then forms the basis for the authentication process, creating a robust and resilient security layer. The novelty lies in moving beyond traditional cryptographic assumptions and directly utilizing the unpredictable nature of quantum phenomena for security. This approach offers a potential defense against attacks that target vulnerabilities in classical cryptographic systems. The paper details the protocol design, focusing on the mathematical formulation of the key generation, encryption, and authentication processes, highlighting the critical role of noise parameters and statistical analysis.
Although the Internet of Things (IoT) provides many benefits for our life but it also raises many security threats. The main risk is the security of the transferred data comprising very critical information that its leakage compromises our privacy. In this regard, many security protocols have been introduced in literature, among which multi factor authentication protocols have been received considerable attention. in this paper, in the first step, the first third party security analysis of the newly proposed scheme denoted as ESEAP (designed by Kumari et al.) is presented. The provided analysis shows that this protocol has a number of security flaws including vulnerability to off-line password guessing attack, traceability attack, impersonation attack, insider attack and also desynchronization attack. For the second step, an enhanced protocol denoted as
RESEAP is proposed in which we use physically unclonable function to improve its security. We prove the security of RESEAP informally and also formally in real or random model, which is a widely accepted security model to prove the security of a cryptographic protocol. While the security analysis confirms that RESEAP protocol has better security, its comparison with ESEAP also shows its higher efficiency.
