Optically induced spin gates in coupled quantum dots using the electron-hole exchange interaction

Sophia E. Economou, T. L. Reinecke

We propose a fast optically induced two-qubit C-PHASE gate between two resident spins in a pair of coupled quantum dots. An excited bound state which extends over the two dots provides an effective electron-electron exchange interaction. The gate is made possible by the electron-hole exchange interaction, which isolates a single transition in the system. When combined with appropriate single-qubit rotations, this gate generates an entangled state of the two spins.

Highly coherent solid-state quantum bit from a pair of quantum dots

Xin-Qi Li, YiJing Yan

In this letter, we propose a scheme to buildup a highly coherent solid-state quantum bit (qubit) from two coupled quantum dots. Quantum information is stored in the state of the electron-hole pair with the electron and hole located in different dots, and universal quantum gates involving any pair of qubits are realized by effective coupling interaction via virtually exchanging cavity photons.

Two-body Wigner molecularization in asymmetric quantum dot spin qubits

J. C. Abadillo-Uriel, Biel Martínez, Michele Filippone +1 more

Coulomb interactions strongly influence the energy spectrum and wave functions of few electrons or holes in single quantum dots. Indeed, for weak confinement potentials, the Coulomb repulsion splits apart the particles, leading to the formation of Wigner molecules. Here, the authors discuss how the confinement anisotropy favors the molecularization and compare the impact on readout and exchange interactions for spin qubits in different semiconductor materials.
