We solve cyclic finite-dimensional quantum histories for arbitrary time-dependent unitary steps, without assuming that one step has finite order. The propagation Hamiltonian is a unitary connection Laplacian on a cycle; its complete gauge invariant is the monodromy $M=U_{L-1}\cdots U_0$. Its spectrum is $λ_{a,k}=1-\cos((2πk-θ_a)/L)$, where $e^{iθ_a}\in\mathrm{spec}(M)$. Thus the exact history sector is isomorphic to $\mathrm{Fix}(M)$, while frustration, the gap above a nonempty zero-energy sector, the determinant, and the finite-temperature trace are obtained in closed form. Ordinary spectral data recover the multiset of monodromy phase cosines but not phase orientation; low energy certifies proximity to an exact relational history. We then define the predictive quotient of a sharp finite clock relative to an accessible operator system as the unique coarsest event alphabet preserving all conditional statistics on a history sector. A finite-error theorem shows that threshold clustering recovers this quotient when the minimum diamond separation of inequivalent event channels exceeds four times the estimation error, and proves an optimal record-count bound. With full matrix access and homogeneous step $U$, the minimal number of clock events is the projective order of $U$. We distinguish the normalizer of the clock algebra from transformations preserving the coherent history code and classify oriented exact sharp clock changes by $U(r)\times\mathbb{Z}_L$ on a rank-$r$ history sector; without orientation the cyclic factor becomes dihedral. Reversible changes of full-information clock fibers are necessarily unitary, so irreversible coarse-graining is not exact clock covariance. Minimal realizations of a complete history Gram kernel are uniquely unitarily equivalent, with a finite-data Procrustes bound. Independent finite-matrix code verifies the main results.

We solve cyclic finite-dimensional quantum histories for arbitrary time-dependent unitary steps, without assuming that one step has finite order. The propagation Hamiltonian is a unitary connection Laplacian on a cycle; its complete gauge invariant is the monodromy M=UL−1⋯U0. Its spectrum is λa,k=1−cos((2πk−θa)/L), where eiθa∈spec(M). Thus the exact history sector is isomorphic to Fix(M), while frustration, the gap above a nonempty zero-energy sector, the determinant, and the finite-temperature trace are obtained in closed form. With full matrix access and homogeneous step U, the minimal number of clock events is the projective order of U. We distinguish the normalizer of the clock algebra from transformations preserving the coherent history code and classify oriented exact sharp clock changes by U(r)×ZL on a rank-r history sector; without orientation the cyclic factor becomes dihedral.
Exact permutation covariance does not itself supply a sparse metric geometry. For permutation-covariant, full-support k-body interaction orbits, the incident interaction norm scales as (k−1N−1)∣JN∣∥h∥; such orbits cannot have uniformly finite range in metrics of diverging diameter. A permutation-invariant Hamiltonian diagonal in the graph basis has ground-state multiplicity at least N!/∣Aut(G)∣ whenever G is a ground graph. We give a quantitative version for approximately symmetric energies, together with fixed-radius connectivity and unitary-isometry obstructions. The trace-distance asymmetry of an arbitrary state also bounds its probability of selecting one labeled graph.
We then construct two exactly solvable finite relational history Hamiltonians. A cyclic clock with a reversible incidence update has a unique ground state; gauge reduction yields a cycle Laplacian with a rank-one pin and the exact gap ΔN,L=E∗(1−cosθL), where tan(LθL/2)=1/sinθL and 0<θL<π/L. In particular, ΔN,L/E∗=π2/(2L2)−2π2/L3+O(L−4), independently of the number of vertices. In an alternative order-free architecture, one clock qubit per unordered pair gives commuting four-local terms, 2N ground states and a size-independent gap E∗(1−1/2). A fixed-weight control penalty selects (qN) ground states without reducing the gap. These exact finite results expose clock and locality resource tradeoffs; they do not establish an emergent geometric phase.
A coarse description of a dynamical system generally fails to evolve autonomously: evolving and coarse-graining in different orders gives different predictions, and the compressed propagator fails the semigroup law. We show that this path dependence is the observable boundary of missing state. For a finite continuous-time Markov chain with generator L, coarse channel C, and stochastic section R satisfying CR=I, define P=RC, Q=I−P, and K=CLR. The exact coarse propagator Tt=CetLR obeys a Volterra equation with memory kernel M(t)=CLQetQLQQLR. Every memory jet M(k)(0) is recursively recoverable from the short-time derivatives of Tt alone. The rank of the block Hankel operator H∞=(M(i+j)(0))i,j≥0 is exactly the smallest number of auxiliary linear state variables required to turn the coarse dynamics into an exact autonomous, time-homogeneous system. A minimal completion is constructible by Ho--Kalman factorization and is unique up to similarity. If d=min{k:M(k)(0)=0}, then every smooth classical f-divergence generically scales as t2d+4. Exact Markov examples realize exponents 4,6,8 and closure ranks 1,2,3. We also derive finite-sample singular-value certificates for hidden predictive coordinates, including a matrix-Bernstein bound with intrinsic-variance control. Finally, histories are identified when they induce the same future law under every admissible intervention, yielding the minimal counterfactual predictive state. The results turn coarse-graining into a constructive state-completion problem and separate ordinary linear realization from the harder requirement of a positive or Markov realization.
We relate positive observable quotients to Page--Wootters (PW) clockdescriptions. Physicalization identifies a quotient by its kernel, andjointly faithful clock reductions recover the same exactness relation.Admissible PW data give a faithful functor into an independently definedquotient-clock category after representative lifts are identified modulophysical null directions. With algebraic lifts, it is full on its essentialimage at the level of retained state-and-clock data. A restricted converse characterizes strictly periodic, globallydeparametrizable realizations with unitary one-slice conditioning:one reference reduction must be unitary and the relative reductions mustform a strongly continuous periodic unitary group. The construction includesthe closed-operator domains required for unbounded generators. Retaining clock-event probabilities gives a separate strictness theorem.Normalizable stationary models with additive constraints and covariantperiodic clocks have state-independent clock marginals. A positivetwo-qubit constraint quotient violates this invariant despite invertiblereductions. This separates it from the additive class; its realization isitself interacting. We then define a broader stationary-conditioning class allowing generalizedcovariant clocks, unrestricted self-adjoint interactions, and separableenvironmental dilations. Its normal quantum-instrument data descendisometrically to positive quotients. Conversely, every normalized amplitudequotient-clock datum has an exact realization: a positive projectorconstraint selects the image of its isometric history map. Standardinstrument dilation extends the result to absolutely continuous normalcompletely positive instruments. For finite-dimensional physical and outputspaces with Sobolev-regular histories, a bounded finite-rank interactionsuffices by standard Hermitian completion and spectral isolation. Hencethis normalized operational sector has no obstruction to realization inthe broad class. For a fixed canonical periodic clock, we then bound the interactionremaining after arbitrary bounded clock-local Hermitian terms are allowed.Translation Fisher information gives a lower bound valid under separableenvironmental dilations. For instruments with orthogonal amplitude columns,a finite-rank construction attains the exact minimum while selecting theprescribed physical kernel. The modulated qubit family yields an explicitstrength--frequency threshold and a finite-event approximation-error bound. An exact Gaussian differential-image quotient coupled to a full oscillatorprovides an additive realization with matching physical metrics, conditioning, reconstruction, and relational probabilities, including finitereading intervals. These results distinguish restricted strictness frombroad representability; they neither identify all microscopic realizationsnor establish equivalence or strict superiority across every QRT and PWformulation.
One bit is all it takes to start the universe. Here “one bit” names the initial informational resource under the stated premises, not the theorem’s only assumption. Its two basis values control an explicit isometric preparation into the no-event and event history sectors; composing that preparation with the literal lifecycle gives distinct zero-clock and completed-event outputs, while the canonical bit prior recovers the uniform history law and all printed branch masses. The whole theorem in one line: First informative bit → 1D → 2D → 3D → durable quantum record → two operational event clocks → record-controlled dynamics. This work realizes that complete sequence as one exact theorem, with every stage finite, explicitly typed, and joined to the next. A first informative distinction acquires a one-dimensional relational home; finite events create filled two- and three-dimensional structure; the completed event leaves a persistent completion signal telling WHEN a later operation is eligible and a durable record of WHAT occurred; retained event order produces two noninterchangeable operational clocks, and the durable record controls a later quantum operation whose output statistics depend measurably on that record. The central new result is the exact end-to-end closure of this sequence as one normalized full-history lifecycle across explicitly joined finite carriers, with every firing and nonfiring history retained. To our knowledge, this is the first explicit finite theorem to close that complete conjunction while retaining both event and no-event histories in one normalized lifecycle across explicitly joined finite carriers. Established mathematical tools certify the interfaces; they do not supply the joined lifecycle proved here. Finite GNS canonically represents the commutative event laws; the labelled noncommutative carrier and full finite effect structure are selected inputs, and the Born-trace and CPTP forms follow from the stated consistency hypotheses on that selected base. Under the complete displayed base every lifecycle map is constructed exactly; whether the pre-activation formation equations alone uniquely force the router, fine writer/hold activation, fresh-row preparation, and comparator is a separate upstream parent-forcing problem and is not used by the completed construction. Every implemented map is exhibited, and the archived executable verification suite passes in ordinary and optimized execution and rejects all registered fault-injection controls. The theorem requires no external clock, singular initial datum, continuum-spacetime limiting procedure, postselection, discarded history, or selected-branch renormalization. The dated primary-source search protocol, version pins, screening ledger, and complete-conjunction matrix are archived in `evidence/COMPLETE_CONJUNCTION_LITERATURE_SEARCH_RECEIPT.json`. SI calibration, continuum spacetime, gravity, quantum field theory, and cosmology begin at later layers.
We reconstruct nonrelativistic quantum mechanics from exactly three physical axioms: microscopic ontic definiteness and finite localization, physical reality of the spacetime-vacuum substrate, and persistent causal source–response coupling. The single-run physical state is a finite topological core, its actual causal history, the substrate state, its sector, and the associated historical disturbance. A wave function is not identified with that ontic tuple. It is a ray in a Hilbert representation of admissible preparations and response amplitudes; a density operator is a statistical or reduced representation; and a record is a stable macroscopic event. The logical construction is acyclic. Finite-energy sector spaces and their continuous symmetry representations lead, under explicit representation conditions, to a complex Hilbert direct sum. A closed semibounded quadratic form defines the Hamiltonian and its self-adjoint realization. The standard Schrödinger action, unitary propagation, probability current, spectral observables, uncertainty relations, composite-system tensor products, spin representations, exchange sectors, instruments, and completely positive open dynamics then follow on their declared domains. Gleason-type reasoning fixes the Born form only after additivity, noncontextuality, continuity, and preparation–detector calibration are stated. Those operational conditions are not hidden physical axioms. The distribution of unresolved ontic initial data that realizes quantum equilibrium remains a realization certificate, not a theorem of topology alone. The Heisenberg representation is derived as a controlled transport of observables after Hilbert space and the self-adjoint generator have been constructed. Strongly continuous time translation, two-parameter nonautonomous propagation, common-domain Heisenberg equations, spectral matrix mechanics, regular Weyl relations, open-system adjoints, and instrument effects are connected by one certificate. Schrödinger and Heisenberg predictions are proved equivalent for one-time and finite instrument records, while finite-core, historical, truncation, domain, and detector errors remain separately bounded. Three frozen matrix benchmarks verify low-energy oscillator truncation and its state-weighted CCR defect, second-order unitary convergence for a driven doublet, Schrödinger–Heisenberg equality for a sequential instrument, finite auxiliary-history truncation, and quadratic leakage scaling for a conditional Dirac–Pauli interface. Independent reproduction, including the extended-precision audit, is closed for the frozen packet; physical coefficient calibration remains open. The next interface connects an owner-resolved Dirac–Pauli Hamiltonian to spin records through a Ward-compatible vertex, a causal passive history kernel, an independently audited doublet projection, SPAM-aware forward probabilities, nuisance-profiled identifiability, and a noncompensatory coefficient-to-record error theorem. The DPHC identifiability coordinate is executed on a frozen synthetic response family. A single-scale design is rank deficient, whereas an eighteen-setting frequency–gradient–order–time design has full profiled rank, controlled conditioning, near-nominal finite-sample coverage, and a calibrated held-out statistic. A robust twenty-setting design raises the worst registered information eigenvalue by 20.12%. A ten-parameter nonlinear audit exhibits an exact radiative–detector equivalence curve. An independent dark record breaks that symmetry and restores full local rank. Continuous-set robustness, validated global exclusion, and independent implementation are executed, while physical response identification and empirical calibration remain open. Measurement is treated as a dynamics of system, apparatus, environment, and actual history. Unitary premeasurement and decoherence select robust record sectors but do not by themselves select one record. The three-axiom ontology supplies one actual branch history, while a measurable response map from the complete initial state and instrument to the final record supplies the missing dynamical content. Bell correlations require contextual and nonfactorizable ontic response while parameter independence and operational no-signalling are retained; no controllable superluminal channel is introduced. Historical response produces causal non-Markov Hamiltonians and memory-kernel master equations. Their normalization, positivity, complete positivity, and energy ledger are derived from a unitary enlarged realization whenever such a dilation exists. Finite-core form factors and causal memory yield explicit departures from point-core Markov quantum mechanics. Standard quantum mechanics is recovered as the unresolved-core, sector-fixed, quantum-equilibrium, short-memory limit. Quantum field theory is retained as a successful local, spectral, and asymptotic calculus, but field operators, Fock vectors, and vacuum functionals remain effective representations until a noncircular map from finite carriers and their complete causal histories has been certified. The manuscript proves a sequence of previously open analytic, mathematical, measurement, topological, statistical, and computational obligations on explicitly declared domains. These include non-Markov diffusion, graph-norm stability, distorted-wave and pole variation, finite passive-memory realization, Fisher-information identifiability, detector pushforwards, unique-record basins, Born-representation bounds, measurement independence, topology–Dirac charge conjugation, Stern–Gerlach records, action-scale matching, rank-two spin projection, Finkelstein–Rubinstein topology, Clifford reconstruction, and parent-to-record realization maps. Eighteen groups of numerical obligations are executed on frozen reference models. They cover spectral and scattering calculations, oscillator and two-level dynamics, Schrödinger–Heisenberg equivalence, finite-history truncation, Dirac–Pauli and Foldy–Wouthuysen reduction, gauge covariance, interference, Bell and GHZ correlations, open-system memory, Stern–Gerlach records, identifiability, global searches, topological invariants, path products, semiclassical limits, partial-wave optical closure, the relativistic/QFT interface, and conservative-parent two-level dynamics. Every environment explicitly typed as a computational obligation now has an executed frozen-model certificate; empirical identification and separately typed experimental inputs remain open. The present manuscript differs so substantially from the earlier version in scope, logical architecture, proofs, and executable certificates that it is issued as a new upload rather than as a minor revision. Because the subject is both foundational and technically consequential, readers professionally engaged in quantum foundations, mathematical physics, quantum measurement, or related fields are encouraged to consult both versions: the earlier version preserves the developmental route, whereas the present version gives the substantially expanded and reorganized reconstruction. ## Keywords Axiomatic quantum mechanics; finite particle histories; retarded Green functions; Schrödinger equation; Dirac equation; Born rule; topological spin; quantum measurement; non-Markovian dynamics; classical limit.
Boundary-Access Holonomy and the Quantum Reversible Quotient: A Finite-Distinction Framework for the Zero-Record-Holonomy Sector introduces FDS-Q0, an upstream quantum-foundations paper in the Finite Distinction Systems (FDS) program. The central question is why reversible quantum mechanics has a symmetric distinguishability structure at all. Standard finite-dimensional quantum mechanics is usually formulated after this symmetry has already been assumed: states live in complex projective Hilbert space, reversible dynamics is unitary, and distinguishability is symmetric inside the closed-system formalism. Q0 asks what finite boundary-access conditions make such a reversible symmetric sector available. The proposal is that standard Hilbert-space quantum mechanics is located as the zero-holonomy reversible quotient of a more primitive asymmetric finite-boundary access dynamics. A physical distinction is first directed, boundary-relative, capacity-limited, and record-sensitive: a system may export, preserve, erase, or recover a distinction differently across different boundaries. The central object is the boundary-access holonomy H∂, an operational obstruction to closing a directed access loop through system, apparatus, environment, record, and recovery channels. Q0 defines finite boundary-access systems, operational directed access, access asymmetry, boundary-access holonomy, and three holonomy sectors: coherent holonomy, record holonomy, and leakage holonomy. It gives a restricted access-category theorem showing that zero record holonomy makes the reversible quotient well-defined; in the restricted quantum-access category, the recovered-state kernel is symmetric. The paper explicitly does not claim to derive the full Hilbert reconstruction, the Born rule, objective collapse, hidden variables, quantum field theory, or all of quantum mechanics. The paper also supplies two minimal operational normal forms. First, a Mach-Zehnder stable-record model separates ordinary coherence overlap from stable accessible record holonomy, predicting that recoverable visibility can split at fixed overlap when stable record accessibility differs. Second, a QEC directed-leakage model treats leakage from the computational subspace as directed leakage into uncorrectable boundary sectors, predicting that logical failure can split at matched physical error when uncorrectable leakage differs. The compressed thesis is: H∂ = 0 ⇒ reversible Hilbert sector,H∂ ≠ 0 ⇒ record, decoherence, measurement, and maintenance sectors. Q0 supplies an upstream quantum-access layer for the FDS quantum sequence. Its immediate scientific task is to make boundary-access holonomy a calculable and testable quantity.
