Abstract

We derive an analytic correspondence between multipartite concentratable entanglement (CE) and quantum phase transitions in one-dimensional quantum spin systems. We prove that CE shares the same analyticity structure as generalized order parameters, identifies the same quantum phases, and, for Gaussian ground states, is completely determined by the same single-particle correlation matrix. Numerical validation on the transverse-field Ising and generalized cluster-Ising models confirms these analytical predictions for both symmetry-breaking and symmetry-protected topological quantum phase transitions. Since CE can be measured directly using a constant-depth parallelized SWAP-test circuit, our results establish CE as an experimentally accessible, model-independent probe of quantum phase transitions without requiring model-specific order parameters.

Genuine multipartite entanglement in the cluster-Ising model

S. M. Giampaolo, Beatrix C. Hiesmayr

We evaluate and analyze the exact value of a measure for local genuine tripartite entanglement in the one-dimensional cluster-Ising model for spin- particles. This model is attractive since cluster states are considered to be relevant sources for applying quantum algorithms and the model is experimentally feasible. Whereas bipartite entanglement is identically vanishing, we find that genuine tripartite entanglement is non zero in the anti-ferromagnetic phase and also in the cluster phase well before the critical point. We prove that the measure of local genuine tripartite entanglement captures all the properties of the symmetry-protected topological quantum phase transition. Remarkably, we find that the amount of genuine tripartite entanglement is independent of whether the ground states satisfy or break the symmetries of the Hamiltonian. We provide also strong evidences that local genuine tripartite entanglement represents the unique non-vanishing genuine multipartite entanglement.

Quantum Phase Transition and Quantum Entanglement in the Generalized Cluster-XY Model

Aydin Deger

In this work, we give a detailed analytic treatment of one-dimensional anisotropic XY model in the transverse field. We present a multipartite geometric measure of entanglement per site and per block and use it for quantifying global entanglement in many-body systems. We also investigate spontaneous symmetry breaking and Quantum Phase Transition (QPT) in the model. Further, we extend the solution of the XY model to the n-site interaction and diagonalize the Hamiltonian and obtain energy levels and eigenvalues. We also examine Quantum Entanglement and QPT for next-nearest neighbor interaction and halfway interaction. At last, we introduce a Generalized Cluster-XY Hamiltonian with n-site interaction. Through this, one can diagonalize many suitable bilinear Hamiltonians by defining parameters that characterize the model. By using the model, we investigate QPT between Ferromagnetic-Paramagnetic state, GHZ-Cluster state and symmetry protected topological order and an antiferromagnetic state. | 96 pages

Long-range multipartite entanglement close to a first-order quantum phase transition

Julia Stasińska, B. Rogers, Mauro Paternostro +2 more

We provide insight into the quantum correlations structure present in strongly correlated systems beyond the standard framework of bipartite entanglement. To this aim we first exploit rotationally invariant states as a test bed to detect genuine tripartite entanglement beyond the nearest neighbor in spin-1/2 models. Then we construct in a closed analytical form a family of entanglement witnesses which provides a sufficient condition to determine if a state of a many-body system formed by an arbitrary number of spin-1/2 particles possesses genuine tripartite entanglement, independently of the details of the model. We illustrate our method by analyzing in detail the anisotropic $XXZ$ spin chain close to its phase transitions, where we demonstrate the presence of long-range multipartite entanglement near the critical point and the breaking of the symmetries associated with the quantum phase transition.

Family of One‐Parameter Multipartite Entanglement Measures

Hang Ren, Yongming Li, Yu Luo

ABSTRACT Multipartite entanglement is widely recognized as a fundamental resource for various quantum protocols, including those in quantum communication and quantum computing. However, a unified characterization of multipartite entanglement remains elusive. In this paper, we introduce ‐Concentratable Entanglements, a one‐parameter family of measures for multipartite entanglement. This framework generalizes the Concentratable Entanglements framework, recovering the original measure at the limit of . We prove that ‐Concentratable Entanglements is a valid entanglement measure satisfying local operations and classical communication monotonicity and continuity. While linear cluster states are known to exhibit higher concentratable entanglements than Greenberger‐Horne‐Zeilinger (GHZ) states at the specific point , To demonstrate the versatility of the ‐Concentratable Entanglements framework, we performed a comprehensive analysis of several paradigmatic multipartite states. Our comparison of ‐qubit GHZ and W states shows that the measure can distinguish them well, while the investigation of the 4‐partite star network illustrates the role of as a tunable parameter for probing structural subtleties. Most significantly, by analyzing the 4‐qubit linear cluster state () and the 4‐qubit GHZ states, we find that the hierarchical ordering is a robust feature in the parameter range .

Multipartite entanglement and quantum phase transitions in the one-, two-, and three-dimensional transverse-field Ising model

Afshin Montakhab, Ali Asadian

In this paper we consider the quantum phase transition in the Ising model in the presence of a transverse field in one, two, and three dimensions from a multipartite entanglement point of view. Using exact numerical solutions, we are able to study such systems up to 25 qubits. The Meyer-Wallach measure of global entanglement is used to study the critical behavior of this model. The transition we consider is between a symmetric Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger--like state to a paramagnetic product state. We find that global entanglement serves as a good indicator of quantum phase transition with interesting scaling behavior. We use finite-size scaling to extract the critical point as well as some critical exponents for the one- and two-dimensional models. Our results indicate that such multipartite measure of global entanglement shows universal features regardless of dimension $d$. Our results also provide evidence that multipartite entanglement is better suited for the study of quantum phase transitions than the much-studied bipartite measures.

Global entanglement in a topological quantum phase transition

Elahe Samimi, Mohammad Hossein Zarei, Afshin Montakhab

A useful approach to characterize and identify quantum phase transitions lies in the concept of multipartite entanglement. In this paper, we consider well-known measures of multipartite (global) entanglement, i.e., average linear entropy of one-qubit and two-qubit reduced density matrices, in order to study topological quantum phase transition (TQPT) in the Kitaev Toric code Hamiltonian with a nonlinear perturbation. We provide an exact mapping from aforementioned measures in the above model to internal energy and energy-energy correlations in the classical Ising model. Accordingly, we find that the global entanglement shows a continuous and sharp transition from a maximum value in the topological phase to zero in the magnetized phase in a sense that its first-order derivative diverges at the transition point. In this regard, we conclude that not only can the global entanglement serve as a reasonable tool to probe quantum criticality at TQPTs, but it also can reveal the highly entangled nature of topological phases. Furthermore, we also introduce a conditional version of global entanglement which becomes maximum at the critical point. Therefore, regarding a general expectation that multipartite entanglement reaches maximum value at the critical point of quantum many-body systems, our result proposes that the conditional global entanglement can be a good measure of multipartite entanglement in TQPTs.
