Abstract

An information theoretic analysis is done for the isotropic harmonic oscillator potential within the Dunkl-Schrödinger framework in spherical coordinates. Starting from the exact analytical eigensolution, various quantum information measures such as Shannon entropy, Rényi information, Tsallis entropy are derived. Besides, their relative measures like relative Shannon, relative Rényi, relative Tsallis as well as corresponding divergences (Jensen-Shannon, Jensen-Rényi, Jensen-Tsallis) are also obtained. In order to get Shannon entropy, a novel factorization method is introduced. This is facilitated through the use of well-known weighted Lebesgue measure. The results from the Dunkl case agree exactly with the non-Dunkl scenario, when Dunkl parameters vanish. The reflection operators and Dunkl parameters considerably influence the above measures. These are portrayed in graphical forms.

Information theoretic measures in one-dimensional Dunkl oscillator

Debraj Nath, Niladri Ghosh, Amlan K. Roy

We consider the solution of one dimensional Schrödinger Dunkl equation for energies and eigenfunctions. Then we provide analytical expressions for various information theoretic measures. For a given density function, quantities such as position expectation value, entropic moment, disequilibrium, Rényi entropy, Shannon entropy, Tsallis entropy, Fisher information are presented. Next, a few relative information measures corresponding to two density functions, like relative entropy, relative Fisher, relative Rényi, relative Tsallis, along with their associated Jensen divergences such as Jensen–Shannon divergence, Jensen–Fisher divergence, Jensen–Rényi divergence, Jensen–Tsallis divergence are treated. Sample results are provided in graphical form. Dependence of these quantities on the Dunkl parameter μ shows distinct features for μ < 0 and μ > 0.

Quantum information and statistical complexity of hydrogen-like ions in Dunkl-Schrödinger system

Akash Halder, Amlan K. Roy, Debraj Nath

In this work, we present analytical solutions of Schrödinger equation for Coulomb potential in presence of a Dunkl reflection operator. Expressions are offered for eigenvalues, eigenfunctions and radial densities for H-isoelectronic series (Z=1-3). The degeneracy in energy in absence and presence of the reflection has been discussed. The standard deviation, Shannon entropy, Rényi entropy in position space have been derived for arbitrary quantum states. Then several important complexity measures like López-Ruiz-Mancini-Calbet (LMC), Shape-Rényi complexity (SRC), Generalized Rényi complexity (GRC), Rényi complexity ratio (RCR) are considered in the analytical framework. Representative results are given for three one-electron atomic ions in tabular and graphical format. Changes in these measures with respect to parity and Dunkl parameter have been given in detail. Most of these results are offered here for the first time.

Rényi and Tsallis information entropies for a harmonic position-dependent mass

Dorcas A. Addo, Daniel Sabi-Takou, Eugene Adjei +1 more

In this paper, we study Renyi and Tsallis information entropies for a Hamiltonian system with position-dependent mass confined in harmonic oscillator potential. Gegenbauer polynomials are used to obtain the position eigenfunction of such a system, and the modified Bessel function of the second kind is used to determine the equivalent momentum eigenfunction. By means of probability densities of both representations, we analytically and numerically evaluate the Heisenberg-like uncertainty of this system. Because the Renyi and Tsallis information entropies in position representation are described by integral functionals of the Gegenbauer polynomials, these quantities are much more difficult to calculate. To get around this problem, we evaluate these information entropies at the system s asymptotical limit, which corresponds to the behavior of an undeformed harmonic oscillator. Nevertheless, no approximation method is used to obtain the Tsallis and Renyi information entropies in momentum representation. In both representations, we find that these information entropies approach the Shannon entropy when the entropic parameter alpha-> 1 and are closed to the results of similar models of the literature. Finally, we evaluate the related entropic uncertainty relations numerically to validate the latter obersevations.

Entropic measures of Rydberg‐like harmonic states

J. S. Dehesa, I. V. Toranzo, David Puertas‐Centeno

Abstract The Shannon entropy, the desequilibrium and their generalizations (Rényi and Tsallis entropies) of the three‐dimensional single‐particle systems in a spherically symmetric potential V(r) can be decomposed into angular and radial parts. The radial part depends on the analytical form of the potential, but the angular part does not. In this article, we first calculate the angular entropy of any central potential by means of two analytical procedures. Then, we explicitly find the dominant term of the radial entropy for the highly energetic (i.e., Rydberg) stationary states of the oscillator‐like systems. The angular and radial contributions to these entropic measures are analytically expressed in terms of the quantum numbers which characterize the corresponding quantum states and, for the radial part, the oscillator strength. In the latter case, we use some recent powerful results of the information theory of the Laguerre polynomials and spherical harmonics which control the oscillator‐like wavefunctions.

Shannon Entropy and Complexity Measures for Generalized Dunkle-Schrodinger Equation With Harmonic Oscillator in One Dimension

P. O. Amadi, A. N. Ikot, U. S. Okorie +2 more

In this paper, the theoretic information theory within the framework of Dunkl-Schrodinger equation is investigated. The effect of on Shannon entropy, the disequilibrium and the Lopez-Mancini-Calbet (CLMC) complexity measure for the ground and first excited states are reported in details in position and momentum spaces. This study also validated the Bialynicki-Birula and Mycielski (BBM) for the Shannon entropy in the ground and first excited state.

One-dimensional pseudoharmonic oscillator: classical remarks and quantum-information theory

O. Olendski

Abstract Motion along semi-infinite straight line in a potential that is a combination of positive quadratic and inverse quadratic functions of the position is considered with the emphasis on the analysis of its quantum-information properties. Classical measure of symmetry of the potential is proposed and its dependence on the particle energy and the factor a describing a relative strength of its constituents is described; in particular, it is shown that a variation of the parameter a alters the shape from the half-harmonic oscillator (HHO) at a = 0 to the perfectly symmetric one of the double frequency oscillator (DFO) in the limit of huge a . Quantum consideration focuses on the analysis of information-theoretical measures, such as standard deviations, Shannon, Rényi and Tsallis entropies together with Fisher information, Onicescu energy and non–Gaussianity. For doing this, among others, a method of calculating momentum waveforms is proposed that results in their analytic expressions in form of the confluent hypergeometric functions. Increasing parameter a modifies the measures in such a way that they gradually transform into those corresponding to the DFO what, in particular, means that the lowest orbital saturates Heisenberg, Shannon, Rényi and Tsallis uncertainty relations with the corresponding position and momentum non–Gaussianities turning to zero. A simple expression is derived of the orbital-independent lower threshold of the semi-infinite range of the dimensionless Rényi/Tsallis coefficient where momentum components of these one-parameter entropies exist which shows that it varies between 1/4 at HHO and zero when a tends to infinity. Physical interpretation of obtained mathematical results is provided.
