Abstract

We show that implementing a generalized uncertainty principle (GUP) with both minimal length and maximal momentum directly on the reduced phase space of the Schwarzschild black hole (BH) leads to a finite and discrete mass spectrum, a strict upper bound on the BH mass, a bounded entropy, and a fully regulated Hawking temperature. We further construct a GUP-deformed lapse function that preserves the ADM mass and horizon radius while exactly reproducing the GUP temperature through the surface gravity. Using the most massive observed supermassive BHs, we derive the constraint on the GUP parameter, $β\lesssim 10^{-98}$, showing that present astrophysical data already impose robust bounds on minimal length quantum gravity.

$q$-Deformed Quantum Mechanics and the Thermodynamics of Black Hole/White Hole Spectral pair

S. Jalalzadeh, R. Jalalzadeh, H. Moradpour

In this work, we investigate the thermodynamics of Schwarzschild black and white holes within a $q$-deformed Wheeler--DeWitt framework. By introducing a $q$-deformed Heisenberg--Weyl algebra at a root of unity, we derive a finite-dimensional Hilbert space, a bounded mass spectrum, and an adiabatic invariant leading to a bounded entropy-mass relation. The deformation results in a universal logarithmic correction, as well as a minimum temperature and a maximum entropy that matches the de Sitter bound. Also, we examine the interpretation of a cold remnant, which is dynamically stable because its radiation rate approaches zero, even though its heat capacity remains negative. We also explore the holographic implications of this limited entropy. Our results thus provide a consistent semiclassical picture, where quantum deformation naturally introduces an entropy bound, avoids divergences at the final evaporation stage, and suggests a smooth transition from quantum gravity to cosmology.

COHERENT STATES IN GRAVITATIONAL QUANTUM MECHANICS

Pouria Pedram

We present the coherent states of the harmonic oscillator in the framework of the generalized (gravitational) uncertainty principle (GUP). This form of GUP is consistent with various theories of quantum gravity such as string theory, loop quantum gravity and black-hole physics and implies a minimal measurable length. Using a recently proposed formally self-adjoint representation, we find the GUP-corrected Hamiltonian as a generator of the generalized Heisenberg algebra. Then following Klauder's approach, we construct exact coherent states and obtain the corresponding normalization coefficients, weight functions and probability distributions. We find the entropy of the system and show that it decreases in the presence of the minimal length. These results could shed light on possible detectable Planck-scale effects within recent experimental tests.

Generalized entropic uncertainty relation and non-classicality in Schwarzschild black hole

Rui-Jie Yao, Dong Wang

The uncertainty principle constitutes a fundamental pillar of quantum theory, representing one of the most distinctive features that differentiates quantum mechanics from classical physics. In this study, we firstly propose a novel generalized entropic uncertainty relation (EUR) for arbitrary multi-measurement in the many-body systems, and rigorously derive a significantly tighter bound compared to existing formulations. Specifically, we discuss the proposed EUR in the context of Schwarzschild black hole, where we demonstrate the superior tightness of our derived bound. The study further elucidates the dynamical evolution of multipartite quantum coherence and entanglement in the curved spacetime. A particularly noteworthy finding reveals the exact equivalence between entanglement and $l_1$-norm coherence for arbitrary $N$-partite Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger-type (GHZ-type) states. Moreover, we find that quantum coherence is significantly diminished and the measurement uncertainty increases to a stable maximum with increasing Hawking temperature. Thus, the findings of this study contribute to a deeper understanding of non-classicality and quantum resources in black holes.

Particle in a Box with Generalized Uncertainty Principle

Md Moniruzzaman, Liza Akter

in ordinary quantum mechanics for the position uncertainty since the minimum value for the uncertainty can be tend to zero. Different theories of quantum gravity, such as string theory, loop quantum gravity, and black hole physics, confirm a minimal observable length. Kempf et al have formulated The minimal length is a fundamental length for position measurement, although there is no lower bound a generalized uncertainty principle (GUP) by modifying the Heisenberg uncertainty principle to include an appearance of the length in quantum mechanics. In this study, we have found out the influence of the GUP on the particle for its confinement in a 1D potential box and calculated energy eigenvalues. The modified Schrödinger equation for the particle is factorized to be of second order to obtain the eigenvalues in a handy way. The obtained energy levels are modified from the usual result with GUP parameter dependency. The modification in the energy spectrum due to the GUP characterized by the presence of the minimal length has been also explored graphically.

Black Hole Horizon Fluctuations from Unruh Quantum Noise

Kashif Ammar Yasir

The mean Hawking flux does not determine how quantum stress fluctuations perturb a black-hole geometry. That information resides in field correlations, including vacuum contributions absent from the outgoing luminosity. Here we connect the complete exterior Unruh Wightman function to a finite-band stochastic reconstruction of Schwarzschild geometry. We retain the incoming vacuum and both outgoing frequency branches, form the connected stress covariance before angular projection, and propagate its monopole through a density-driven radial response. A shared Gaussian reconstruction then resolves how the value and derivative of the lapse control different geometric observables. For the specified covariance and noise amplitude, 2,200 realizations give relative widths of 0.0185 for the local horizon radius and 0.0483 for the surface-gravity temperature parameter, consistently across histograms and reconstruction checks. Covariance derivatives explain this unequal sensitivity. The construction separates the quantum-state input from the gravitational closure and spatial sampling assumptions, providing a reproducible finite-resolution description of how Hawking-field correlations affect horizon positions and surface-gravity statistics.

Decoherence limit of quantum systems obeying generalized uncertainty principle: New paradigm for Tsallis thermostatistics

Petr Jizba B, Gaetano Lambiase, Giuseppe Gaetano Luciano +1 more

The generalized uncertainty principle (GUP) is a phenomenological model whose purpose is to account for a minimal length scale (e.g., Planck scale or characteristic inverse-mass scale in effective quantum description) in quantum systems. In this paper, we study possible observational effects of GUP systems in their decoherence domain. We first derive coherent states associated to GUP and unveil that in the momentum representation they coincide with Tsallis probability amplitudes, whose nonextensivity parameter $q$ monotonically increases with the GUP deformation parameter $\ensuremath{\beta}$. Second, for $\ensuremath{\beta}<0$ (i.e., $q<1$), we show that, due to Bekner-Babenko inequality, the GUP is fully equivalent to information-theoretic uncertainty relations based on Tsallis-entropy-power. Finally, we invoke the maximal entropy principle known from estimation theory to reveal connection between the quasiclassical (decoherence) limit of GUP-related quantum theory and nonextensive thermostatistics of Tsallis. This might provide an exciting paradigm in a range of fields from quantum theory to analog gravity. For instance, in some quantum gravity theories, such as conformal gravity, aforementioned quasiclassical regime has relevant observational consequences. We discuss some of the implications.
