Abstract

Rimu$.$jl is a Julia package for solving many-body quantum problems. The core of the package is a matrix-free implementation of Hamiltonians and other operators and compact representation of Fock states, which together allow for efficient methods suitable for high-performance computing. Rimu$.$jl includes a Julia implementation of the full configuration interaction quantum Monte Carlo (FCIQMC) algorithm which is a type of projector QMC algorithm for stochastically solving the time-independent Schrödinger equation. It also includes many well-known model Hamiltonians, and an interface for exact diagonalisation based on external eigenvalue solvers. Both the stochastic and exact diagonalisation methods are accessed with a CommonSolve$.$jl interface. We describe the FCIQMC algorithm and how to obtain estimators of observables as well as the key features of the implementation.

SmoQyDQMC.jl: A flexible implementation of determinant quantum Monte Carlo for Hubbard and electron-phonon interactions (version 2.0 release)

Benjamin Cohen-Stead, Shruti Agarwal, Sohan Malkaruge Costa +6 more

We introduce version 2.0 of the SmoQyDQMC.jl package, a Julia implementation of the determinant quantum Monte Carlo algorithm. SmoQyDQMC.jl supports generalized tight-binding Hamiltonians with local and extended Hubbard and generalized electron-phonon (e-ph) interactions, including non-linear e-ph coupling and anharmonic lattice potentials. Our implementation uses an optimized hybrid Monte Carlo method with exact forces to efficiently sample the phonon fields, enabling the simulation of low-energy phonon branches, including acoustic phonons. The SmoQyDQMC.jl package also uses a flexible scripting interface, allowing users to adapt it to different workflows and interface with other software packages in the Julia ecosystem. SmoQyElPhQMC.jl: An open-source Julia package for efficient and scalable quantum Monte Carlo simulations of electron-phonon coupled models

Benjamin Cohen-Stead, James Neuhaus, Kipton M. Barros +2 more

We introduce version 1.0 of the SmoQyElPhQMC.jl package, an open-source Julia code for performing scalable quantum Monte Carlo simulations of electron-phonon coupled model Hamiltonians. SmoQyElPhQMC.jl is built upon the SmoQyDQMC.jl codebase and implements improved versions of the algorithms presented in [B. Cohen-Stead \textit{et al}., Phys. Rev. E 105, 065302 (2022)] to enable (near-linear) scalable simulations of a broad class of uncorrelated $e$-ph models both in system size and inverse temperature. By extending the functionality of the flexible scripting interface introduced in SmoQyDQMC.jl, the SmoQyElPhQMC.jl package continues to allow users to adapt it to different workflows and interface with other software packages in the Julia ecosystem. IntegrateUnitary.jl: A Julia package for symbolic integration over Haar measures

Łukasz Pawela, Zbigniew Puchała

Symbolic integration over the Haar measure of compact groups is a computational cornerstone in quantum information science and random matrix theory. We present \texttt{IntegrateUnitary.jl}, a comprehensive Julia package for computing exact expectations of polynomial functions over a wide range of compact groups ($U(d)$, $O(d)$, $Sp(d)$, and $SU(d)$ for balanced polynomials), circular and Gaussian ensembles, Ginibre ensembles, permutation groups, random pure states, and unitary $t$-designs. The package provides a fully open-source implementation of the Weingarten calculus and Wick contractions with broad symbolic-$d$ support for entry-wise and trace-polynomial integrals, while selected workflows currently require concrete integer dimensions (including higher pure trace moments $|\mathrm{tr}(U)|^{2k}$ for $k > 1$ and HCIZ with \texttt{SymbolicMatrix} inputs, and direct matrix-valued integration of \texttt{SymbolicMatrix}/\texttt{SymbolicMatrixProduct} expressions), automatic asymptotic expansions, a high-level symbolic trace interface that reconstructs Weingarten graphs from index-free expressions, and a bridge to \texttt{ITensors.jl} for tensor network averaging. We discuss the underlying algorithms, including the Murnaghan-Nakayama rule and symplectic-orthogonal duality, and demonstrate that the package efficiently handles high-degree moments and quantum information metrics.

Full configuration interaction quantum Monte Carlo for accurate $\textit{ab initio}$ nuclear structure calculations: algorithms and calculation details

Rongzhe Hu, Furong Xu, Baishan Hu +1 more

Full configuration interaction quantum Monte Carlo (FCIQMC) is a stochastic many-body solver that has been widely applied to electronic, molecular, and condensed-matter systems. In this work we apply FCIQMC to $\textit{ab initio}$ nuclear structure calculations using interactions derived from chiral effective field theory. We describe the algorithm in detail, including imaginary-time propagation, excitation generation, estimator choices, the initiator approximation with adaptive shift correction, and reduced-density-matrix (RDM) sampling. Benchmark calculations in small model spaces, where deterministic full configuration interaction (FCI) results are available, validate the stochastic calculation of energies, radii, and RDM-based pure estimators. For large model spaces, we analyze the residual finite-walker bias through systematic walker-number convergence and infinite-walker extrapolations. We also demonstrate that FCIQMC can be extended beyond ground-state calculations by computing the low-lying spectrum of $^6$Li.
