Almost local integrable models from supersymmetry algebras

Abstract

Abstract Supersymmetry algebras can be used to obtain algebraic expressions for constant Yang–Baxter solutions, also known as braid group generators. This was done for non-invertible braid operators in Maity et al (2025 J. High Energy Phys 5 1–31) In this work we extend this construction for the invertible ones. The resulting expressions are then shown to obey relations analogous to those satisfied by quotients of braid groups. Examples of the latter include the Iwahori–Hecke algebra and the Birman–Murakami–Wenzl algebra. As a result, we can Baxterize the constant Yang–Baxter solutions to yield spectral parameter dependent R -matrices. The regularity of these R -matrices depends on the representation of SUSY generators. In some cases they are regular in the usual sense and in the remaining they are ‘almost’ regular. In the latter case they are also non-invertible. Nevertheless, we show that they can still help us construct integrable models in all dimensions of the local Hilbert space. These models can be described by Hamiltonian densities that are either local or non-local, depending on the representation chosen for the SUSY generators. We demonstrate this for all constant 4 × 4 invertible Yang–Baxter solutions. Apart from reproducing nearest-neighbor interaction spin 1 2 systems, we also find their higher spin analogs due to the algebraic [representation independent] approach.

Series of the solutions to Yang–Baxter equations: Hecke type matrices and descendant R-, L-operators

Shahane A. Khachatryan

We have constructed series of the spectral parameter dependent solutions to the Yang–Baxter equations defined on the tensor product of reducible representations with a symmetry of quantum (super)algebra. These series are produced as descendant solutions from the s l q ( 2 ) -invariant Hecke type R r r ( u ) -matrices. The analogues of the matrices of Hecke type with the symmetry of the quantum super-algebra o s p q ( 1 | 2 ) are obtained precisely. For the homogeneous solutions R r 2 − 1 r 2 − 1 there are constructed Hamiltonian operators of the corresponding one-dimensional quantum integrable models, which describe rather intricate interactions between different kind of spin states. Centralizer operators defined on the products of the composite states are discussed. The inhomogeneous series of the operators R r R ( u ) , extended Lax operators of Hecke type, also are suggested.

Quantum entanglement, supersymmetry, and the generalized Yang-Baxter equation

Pramod Padmanabhan, Fumihiko Sugino, Diego Trancanelli

Entangled states, such as the Bell and GHZ states, are generated from separable states using matrices known to satisfy the Yang-Baxter equation and its generalization. This remarkable fact hints at the possibility of using braiding operators as quantum entanglers, and is part of a larger speculated connection between topological and quantum entanglement. We push the analysis of this connection forward, by showing that supersymmetry algebras can be used to construct large families of solutions of the spectral parameter-dependent generalized Yang-Baxter equation. We present a number of explicit examples and outline a general algorithm for arbitrary numbers of qubits. The operators we obtain produce, in turn, all the entangled states in a multi-qubit system classified by the Stochastic Local Operations and Classical Communication protocol introduced in quantum information theory.

Classifying integrable spin-1/2 chains with nearest neighbour interactions

Marius de Leeuw, Anton Pribytok, Paul Ryan

Abstract We classify all fundamental integrable spin chains with two-dimensional (2D) local Hilbert space which have regular R -matrices of difference form. This means that the R -matrix underlying the integrable structures is of the form and reduces to the permutation operator at some particular point. We find a total of 14 independent solutions, eight of which correspond to well-known eight or lower vertex models. The remaining six models appear to be new and some have peculiar properties such as not being diagonalizable or being nilpotent. Furthermore, for even R -matrices, we find a bijection between solutions of the Yang–Baxter equation (YBE) and the graded YBE which extends our results to the graded 2D case.

Matrix-product operator dualities in integrable lattice models

Yuan Miao, Andras Molnar, Nick G. Jones

Matrix-product operators (MPOs) appear throughout the study of integrable lattice models, notably as the transfer matrices. They can also be used as transformations to construct dualities between such models, both invertible (including unitary) and non-invertible (including discrete gauging). We analyse how the local Yang--Baxter integrable structures are modified under such dualities. We see that the $\check{R}$-matrix, that appears in the baxterization approach to integrability, transforms in a simple manner. We further argue for a broad class of MPO dualities that the usual Yang--Baxter $R$-matrix should be extended. This extended $R$-matrix satisfies modified algebraic relations, including a modified Yang--Baxter algebra previously identified in the unitary case, that altogether give a local integrable structure underlying the commuting transfer matrices of the dual model. We illustrate these results with two case studies, analysing an invertible unitary MPO and a non-invertible MPO both applied to the canonical XXZ spin chain. The former is the cluster entangler, arising in the study of symmetry-protected topological phases, while the latter is the Kramers--Wannier duality. We show several results for MPOs with exact MPO inverses that are of independent interest.

Solutions to Braid Group, Yang-Baxter Equation and Integrable Fermion Systems

H. Yan, J. Zhang

Braid group representations are found in ferrnion systems in one space dimension. Explicit baxterization is performed to find corresponding new trigonometric solutions of Yang-Baxter equation. The quantum algebra structures implied in the new solutions are discovered. Algebraic Bethe ansatz method is applied to solving these systems. The relationships between these fermion systems and polaron model, spin- Heisenberg spin chain are discussed.

Non-additive fusion, Hubbard models and non-locality

Z. Maassarani

Within the framework of quantum groups and additive R -matrices, the fusion procedure allows one to construct higher-dimensional solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation. These solutions lead to integrable one-dimensional spin-chain Hamiltonians. Here fusion is shown to generalize naturally to non-additive R -matrices, which therefore do not have a quantum group symmetry. This method is then applied to the generalized Hubbard models. Although the resulting integrable models are not as simple as the starting ones, the general structure is that of two spin-( s × s ´) sl (2) models coupled at the free-fermion point. An important issue is the probable lack of regular points which give local Hamiltonians. This problem is related to the existence of second-order zeros in the unitarity equation, and arises for the XX models of higher spins, the building blocks of the Hubbard models. A possible connection between some Lax operators L and R -matrices is noted.
