Abstract

We study the effects of a parametric frequency converter in a two-mode cavity system where one of the cavity mode is coupled with yttrium iron garnet (YIG) via magnetic dipole interaction. Parametric frequency converter acts as a nonlinear source for enhanced entanglement among all bipartitions and asymmetrical quantum steering. The behavior of the two types of quantum correlations are shown to be dependent on parametric coupling and the associated phase factor. We show that cavity-cavity entanglement and cavity-phonon entanglement (cavity-magnon entanglement) decreases (increases) with the increase of the parametric phase factor ϕ. In addition, generated entanglements in the present system have shown to be more robust against the thermal effects, with the inclusion of the parametric converter as compared with the bare cavity case. Another intriguing finding is the asymmetric one-way steering, where we notice that magnon and phonon modes can steer the indirectly coupled cavity modes, yet the steering in swapped direction is not observed. It is of great interest that the perfect transfer of entanglement and quantum steering is achieved among different modes by adjusting the system's parameters. In fact, our protocol for these transferring processes suggests a different approach to the processing and storage of quantum information.

Implementation of One‐Way Quantum Steering and Controlled Generation of Asymmetric Tripartite Entanglement in Double Coupling Cavity‐Magnonics Subsystems

Yue‐Han Lin, Ya‐Qin Lin, Rong‐Can Yang +1 more

Abstract Two cavity‐magnon subsystems coupled via the two single‐mode cavities mediated by a non‐degenerate parametric down conversion and each cavity carrying a magnon confined in a Yttrium‐iron‐garnet sphere is proposed to study one‐way quantum steering and asymmetric tripartite entanglement. The entanglement can be transferred from the two microwave cavities to the two separated magnon modes using magnetic dipole interaction. Different from previous schemes, the present study demonstrates efficient realization of controllable one‐way quantum steering between two magnon modes through asymmetric frequency detunings of the two magnon modes. In addition, an asymmetric tripartite entanglement can also be achieved. Furthermore, the system exhibits robustness to temperatures up to 100 mK, providing a promising avenue for utilizing cavity magnonics systems in unidirectional transmission of quantum information.

Perfect transfer of enhanced entanglement and asymmetric steering in a cavity-magnomechanical system

Yao-Tong Chen, Lei Du, Yan Zhang +1 more

We propose a hybrid cavity magnomechanical system to realize and transfer the bipartite entanglements and Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) steerings between magnons, photons, and phonons in the regime of stability of the system. As a parity-time-symmetric-like structure exhibiting the natural magnetostrictive magnon-phonon interaction, our passive-active cavity system can be explored to enhance the robust distant quantum entanglement and generate the relatively obvious asymmetric (even directional) EPR steering that is useful for the task with the highly asymmetric trusts of the bidirectional local measurements between two entangled states. It is of great interest that, based on such a tunable magnomechanical system, the perfect transfer between near and distant entanglements and steerings of different mode pairs is realized by adjusting the coupling parameters; in particular, we propose a perfect transfer scheme of steerings. These transferring processes suggest indeed an alternative method for quantum information storage and manipulation. In addition, the entanglements and steerings can also be exchanged between different mode pairs by adjusting the detunings between different modes. This work may provide a potential platform for distant and asymmetric quantum modulation.

Enhanced entanglement and quantum steering of directly and indirectly coupled modes in a magnomechanical system

Amjad Sohail, Rizwan Ahmed, Rida Zainab +1 more

Abstract This study is based on a theoretical proposal for quantum steering, non-locality, and entanglement in a two microwave cavities based magnomechanical system. The system is composed of two microwave (MW) cavity mode photons, phonons associated with mechanical mode and a magnon mode. We have employed a standard damping approach and found that steerability and entanglements among different bipartite subsystems strongly depend upon the detuning of indirectly coupled cavity mode and effective magnon detuning. One/two-way quantum Steering and non-local correlation have been found in the system for different choices of bipartitions. In addition, entanglement generated in the system enhances and has shown to be more robust against the thermal effects, as compared with the earlier studies. Interestingly, we have shown that the magnomechanical entanglements among different bipartitions have a complementary relation due to the transfer entanglement. This shows an additional insight into the system dynamics which shows that there exists a ‘tie-up’ relationship among these bipartitions. The present magnomechanical system will open new perspectives in quantum tasks that demand the entanglement of microwave cavity fields.

Enhanced bipartite entanglement and Gaussian quantum steering of squeezed magnon modes

Shaik Liyakhath Ahmed, M. Amazioug, Jia‐Xin Peng +1 more

We theoretically investigate a scheme to entangle two squeezed magnon modes in a double cavitymagnon system, where both cavities are driven by a two-mode squeezed vacuum microwave field. Each cavity contains an optical parametric amplifier as well as a macroscopic yttrium iron garnet (YIG) sphere placed near the maximum bias magnetic fields such that this leads to the excitation of the relevant magnon mode and its coupling with the corresponding cavity mode. We have obtained optimal parameter regimes for achieving the strong magnon-magnon entanglement and also studied the effectiveness of this scheme towards the mismatch of both the cavity-magnon couplings and decay parameters. We have also explored the entanglement transfer efficiency including Gaussian quantum steering in our proposed system

Quantum entanglement and one-way steering in a cavity magnomechanical system via a squeezed vacuum field

Wei Zhang, Tie Wang, Xue Yan Han +2 more

We propose a simple scheme to generate quantum entanglement and one-way steering between distinct mode pairs in a generic cavity magnomechanical system, which is composed of a microwave cavity and a yttrium iron garnet sphere supporting magnon and phonon modes. The microwave cavity is pumped by a weak squeezed vacuum field, which plays an important role for establishing quantum entanglement and steering. It is found that when the magnon mode is driven by the red-detuned laser, the maximum entanglement between cavity mode and phonon mode and the maximum phonon-to-photon one-way steering can be effectively generated via adjusting the ratio of two coupling rates. While under the much weaker magnomechanical coupling, the quantum entanglement and one-way steering between cavity mode and magnon mode can be achieved, where the steering direction is determined merely by the relative dissipation strength of the cavity to the magnon mode. More interestingly, we reveal that the robustness to the temperature for entanglement and steering between any mode pairs can be evidently enhanced by selecting the squeezing parameter appropriately.

Entanglement and asymmetric quantum steering in a nonlinear cavity-magnon system with two-fold periodic amplitude modulation

Yuhong He, Jiajia Wang, Li-zhen Jiang +2 more

Abstract We show how robust magnon-magnon (or photon-magnon) entanglement and asymmetric quantum steering can be achieved in a nonlinear cavity-magnon system composed of a microwave cavity and two yttrium-iron-garnet (YIG) spheres, which are each driven by external microwave driving fields. The self-Kerr nonlinearity (SKN) of two magnons drives this behaviour and we study how two-fold periodically-modulated driving fields influence the system dynamics. We find that beating occurs both in the classical average of the cavity mode and in the entanglement between modes. Moreover, the use of modulated driving fields can enhance the degree of entanglement generated as well as giving rise to asymmetric quantum steering effects that would not otherwise be present. Finally, we show that the entanglement generated this way has improved robustness to thermal noise opening the way to potential applications of magnon-based hybrid systems in quantum information processing and studies of fundamental physics.
