Abstract

In this work, an interactive system composed of a V-type atom and a dissipative single-mode cavity is considered and the atomic quantum coherences are investigated under parameters including spontaneously generated interference (SGI), cavity-environment coupling, weak measurement and its reversal, and detuning between the atom and the cavity. The results indicate that strong coupling can induce coherence sudden death (CSD) and coherence sudden birth (CSB), while the non-zero SGI parameter only induces CSB. Detuning, however, may avoid both CSD and CSB. Moreover, detuning and weak measurement reversal can very effectively protect quantum coherence, while the SGI parameter, weak measurement, and strong coupling can accelerate its attenuation. The SGI parameter, detuning, weak measurement reversal, and strong coupling all promote the generation of coherence, whereas weak measurement alone can suppress it. In particular, the maximal coherent state can be very effectively protected and the coherent state can be prepared if all parameters are selected appropriately. Physical interpretations are also provided for these results.

Modulating entanglement dynamics of two V-type atoms in dissipative cavity by detuning and weak measurement reversal

Abstract In this paper, how to modulate entanglement dynamics of two V-type atoms in dissipative cavity by detuning, weak measurement and weak measurement reversal is studied. The analytical solution of this model is obtained by solving Schrodinger Equation after diagonalizing Hamiltonian of dissipative cavity. It is discussed in detail how the entanglement dynamics is in uenced by cavityenvironment coupling, spontaneously generated interference (SGI) parameter, detuning between cavity with environment and weak measurement reversal. The results show that the entanglement dynamics of different initial states obviously depends on coupling, SGI parameter, detuning and reversing measurement strength. The stronger coupling, the smaller SGI parameter, the larger detuning and the bigger reversing measurement strength can all not only protect but also generate the entanglement, and the detuning is more effectively in tne strong coupling regime than the weak measurement reversal, which is more effectively than the SGI parameter. We also give corresponding physical interpretations. PACS numbers: 03.65.Yz, 03.67.Lx, 42.50.-p, 42.50.Pq.

Entanglement Dynamics of Two V‐type Atoms with Dipole–Dipole Interaction in Dissipative Cavity

Jia Wang, Dan Long, Qilin Wang +3 more

Abstract In this work, a coupled system of two V‐type atoms with dipole–dipole interaction in a dissipative single‐mode cavity, which couples with an external environment, is studied. The analytical solution of this model is obtained by solving the time dependent Schrodinger equation after Hamiltonian of dissipative cavity is diagonalized by introducing a set of new creation and annihilation operators according to Fano theorem. It is also discussed in detail how the entanglement dynamics of different initial states are influenced by the cavity‐environment coupling, the spontaneously generated interference (SGI) parameter, and the dipole–dipole interaction between two atoms . The results show that the SGI parameter has different effects on entanglement dynamics under different initial states. Namely, the SGI parameter will increase the decay rate of the initially maximal entangled state and reduce that of the initially partial entangled state. For the initially product state, the larger SGI parameter corresponds to the more entanglement generated. The entanglement monotonically decreases under the weak cavity‐environment coupling, while the oscillation of entanglement will occur under the strong cavity‐environment coupling. The larger the dipole–dipole interaction is, the slower the entanglement decays and the more the entanglement will be generated. So the dipole–dipole interaction can not only protect and generate entanglement very effectively, but also enhance the regulation effect of the SGI parameter on entanglement.

Entropy and Variance Squeezing of V-type Atom in Dissipative Cavity

Zijin Liang, Qiying Pan, Hong-Mei Zou +1 more

Based on Ref.\cite{Riccardi A}, we investigate the entropy and variance squeezing of a V-type atom in a dissipative cavity, and discuss the influences of parameters including the spontaneously generated interference (SGI) ($θ$), the cavity-environment coupling ($γ_0/κ$) and the atom-cavity detuning ($Δ$) on the atomic squeezing by using different initial states. The results show that no squeezing of $S_y$ occurs under any condition and that variance squeezing of $S_x$ appears only when $Δ>0$. Entropy squeezing quantifies quantum fluctuations more precisely than variance squeezing. Moreover, the atomic squeezing of $S_x$ clearly depends on $θ$, $γ_0/κ$, $Δ$ and the initial state. These findings are meaningful for quantum information processing as an ultra-low-noise resource.

Quantum coherence and non-Markovianity of an atom in a dissipative cavity under weak measurement

Yu Liu, Hong‐Mei Zou, Mao-Fa Fang

Quantum coherence and non-Markovianity of an atom in a dissipative cavity under weak measurement are investigated in this work. We find that: the quantum coherence obviously depends on the initial atomic state, the strength of the weak measurement and its reversal, the atom–cavity coupling constant and the non-Markovian effect. It is obvious that the weak measurement effect protects the coherence better. The quantum coherence is preserved more efficiently for larger atom– cavity coupling. The stronger the non-Markovian effect is, the more slowly the coherence reduces. The quantum coherence can be effectively protected by means of controlling these physical parameters.

Enhanced quantum resources via two distant atom-cavity systems under the influence of atomic dissipation

M. Setodeh Kheirabady, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly, M. Rafeie +1 more

Abstract Quantum resources such as entanglement and coherence are the holy grail for modern quantum technologies. Although the unwanted environmental effects tackle quantum information processing tasks, suprisingly these key quantum resources may be protected and even enhanced by the implementation of some special hybrid open quantum systems. Here, we aim to show how a dissipative atom-cavity-system can be accomplished to generate enhanced quantum resources. To do so, we consider a couple of dissipative cavities, where each one contains two effective two-level atoms interacting with a single-mode cavity field. In practical applications, a classical laser field may be applied to drive each atomic subsystem. After driving the system, a Bell-state measurement is performed on the output of the system to quantify the entanglement and coherence. The obtained results reveal that the remote entanglement and coherence between the atoms existing inside the two distant cavities are not only enhanced, but can be stabilized, even under the action of dissipation. In contrast, the local entanglement between two atoms inside each dissipative cavity attenuates due to the presence of unwanted environmental effects. Nevertheless, the local coherence may show the same behavior as the remote coherence. Besides, the system provides the steady state entanglement in various interaction regimes, particularly in the strong atom-cavity coupling and with relatively large detuning. More interestingly, our numerical analyses demonstrate that the system may show a memory effect due to the fact that the death and revival of the entanglement take place during the interaction. Our proposed model may find potential applications for the implementation of long distance quantum networks. In particular, it facilitates the distribution of quantum resources between the nodes of large-scale quantum networks for secure communication.
