Abstract

We investigate the distribution of entanglement in tripartite quantum systems under the influence of noisy environment. Entanglement distribution is an important concept to understand the robustness of entanglement in multipartite systems, while preserving multipartite entanglement amid decoherence remains a major challenge. Measuring multipartite entanglement in mixed states under decoherence is challenging. We quantify tripartite entanglement using relative entropy due to its applicability to both pure and mixed states. In this work, we explore how entanglement is distributed among the qubits of multipartite states when the three qubits are exposed to multipartite dephasing setting. In our study we use various pure and mixed tripartite states subjected to both Markovian and non-Markovian Local/Common bosonic reservoir at finite temperature. We show that the robustness of tripartite systems to decoherence depends on the distribution of entanglement and its interaction with various configurations and parameters of the bath.

Entanglement preservation in tripartite quantum systems under dephasing dynamics

Chandrashekar Radhakrishnan, Sovik Roy, Ravikumar Chinnarasu +1 more

Abstract Protecting entanglement from decoherence is a critical aspect of quantum information processsing. For many-body quantum systems evolving under decoherence, estimating multipartite entanglement is challenging. This challenge can be met up by considering a distance-based measure such as relative entropy of entanglement which decisively measures entanglement in both pure as well as mixed states. In this work, we investigate the tripartite entanglement dynamics of pure and mixed states in the presence of a structured dephasing environment at finite temperature. We show that the robustness of the quantum system to decoherence is dependent on the distribution of entanglement and its relation to different configurations of the bath. If the bath is structured individually such that each qubit has its own environment, the system has different dynamics compared to when the bath is common to all the three qubits. From the results we conjecture that there is a connection between the distribution of entanglement among the qubits and the distribution of bath degrees of freedom, and the interplay of these two distributions determines the decay rate of the entanglement dynamics. The sustainability of tripartite entanglement is shown to be enhanced significantly in the presence of reservoir memory.

Basis-Independent Coherence Dynamics of Tripartite States under Pure Dephasing

Sovik Roy, Abhijit Mandal

Quantum coherence is a fundamental quantum resource whose preservation under environmental interactions is essential for quantum information processing. While most studies have focused on basis-dependent coherence measures, the dynamics of intrinsic coherence quantified by basis-independent measures remain largely unexplored. In this work, we investigate the dynamics of basis-independent quantum coherence for several representative tripartite pure and mixed states subjected to local and common dephasing environments in both Markovian and non-Markovian regimes. We show that Markovian local dephasing leads to state-dependent coherence degradation, whereas collective dephasing significantly enhances coherence preservation through decoherence-free sectors. More importantly, non-Markovian environments give rise to nearly frozen coherence dynamics for both pure and mixed states, demonstrating the remarkable robustness of intrinsic coherence against dephasing environment. A comparison with the measure of relative entropy of coherence reveals that basis-independent coherence measure exhibits substantially greater resilience and qualitatively different dynamical behaviour than its basis-dependent counterpart. These results provide new insights into the preservation of intrinsic multipartite coherence in open quantum systems and highlight basis-independent coherence as a robust quantum resource for realistic noisy quantum technologies.

Quantum W-Type Entanglement in Photonic Systems with Environmental Decoherence

K. Berrada, Smail B. Bougouffa

Preserving quantum entanglement in multipartite systems under environmental decoherence is a critical challenge for quantum information processing. In this work, we investigate the dynamics of W-type entanglement in a system of three photons, focusing on the effects of Markovian and non-Markovian decoherence regimes. Using the lower bound of concurrence (LBC) as a measure of entanglement, we analyze the time evolution of the LBC for photons initially prepared in a W state under the influence of dephasing noise. We explore the dependence of entanglement dynamics on system parameters such as the dephasing angle and refractive-index difference, alongside environmental spectral properties. Our results, obtained within experimentally feasible parameter ranges, reveal how the enhancement of entanglement preservation can be achieved in Markovian and non-Markovian regimes according to the system parameters. These findings provide valuable insights into the robustness of W-state entanglement in tripartite photonic systems and offer practical guidance for optimizing quantum protocols in noisy environments.

Robustness of genuine tripartite entanglement under collective dephasing

Mazhar Ali

We study robustness of genuine multipartite entanglement for a system of three qubits under collective dephasing. Using a computable entanglement monotone for multipartite systems, we found that almost every state is quite robust under this type of decoherence. We analyze random states and weighted graph states at infinity and found all of them to be genuinely entangled.

Entanglement generation between a qubit and its bosonic environment - dependence on environment size

Tymoteusz Salamon, Katarzyna Roszak

We study entanglement generated between a qubit and a super-ohmic bosonic bath due to their joint evolution which leads to pure dephasing of the qubit. We tune the parameters of the interaction, so that the decoherence is quantitatively independent of the number of bosonic modes taken into account (and corresponds to realistic decoherence seen in small excitonic quantum dots coupled to an environment of phonons) and investigate, how the entanglement generated depends on the size of the environment. A second parameter of interest is the mixedness of the initial state of the environment which is controlled by temperature. We show analytically that for a pure initial state of the environment (zero temperature here), entanglement does not depend on environment size. At finite temperatures (mixed initial state of the environment), the generated entanglement decreases with the increase of environment size. This effect is stronger for larger temperatures, when the environment is initially more mixed, but in the limit of an infinitely large environment, no entanglement is created at any finite temperature.
