Abstract

Quantum computing is a new paradigm that will revolutionize various areas of computing, especially cloud computing. Quantum computing, still in its infancy, is a costly technology that can operate in highly isolated environments because of its rapid response to environmental factors. This makes quantum computing a challenging technology for researchers to access. These problems can be solved by integrating quantum computing into an isolated remote server, such as a cloud, and making it available to users. Furthermore, experts predict that quantum computing, with its ability to swiftly resolve complex and computationally intensive operations, will offer significant benefits in systems that process large amounts of data, like cloud computing. This article presents the vision and challenges for the quantum cloud computing paradigm that will emerge with the integration of quantum and cloud computing. Next, we present the advantages of quantum computing over classical computing applications. We analyze the effects of quantum computing on cloud systems, such as cost, security, and scalability. Besides all of these advantages, we highlight research gaps in quantum cloud computing, such as qubit stability and efficient resource allocation. This article identifies the advantages and challenges of quantum cloud computing for future research, highlighting research gaps.

Integrating Quantum Computing with Cloud Systems: Opportunities, Challenges, and Future Prospects

Satar Habib Mnaathr, Duha Ali Hasan

Cloud computing can be revolutionized by quantum computing which will offer the world more computational power than has ever been seen to solve complex issues.Quantum computing coupled with cloud computing enables the remote access to quantum resources, thus greatly minimizing the cost, technical, and operational difficulties of having quantum hardware owned and maintained in the field. The integration makes large-scale data processing, cryptography, and optimization tasks as well as new applications in artificial intelligence efficient in terms of their computation. This work is a review of the existing approaches, system, and systems to quantum cloud computing, the main algorithms, software applications, implementation plans, and real-life examples. We find that quantum cloud computing provides significant enhancements in computational speed and parallelism, scalability, as well as provides the capability to process data securely and to execute quantum circuits remotely. However, there are still a few obstacles such as stability of qubits, error correction, noise reduction, and effective resource utilization, which restrict the practical use of quantum cloud services. The findings indicate that, irrespective of these challenges, quantum computing with the use of cloud computing platforms offers meaningful potentials to scientific discovery, business, and an AI-based innovation. The paper wraps up by noting that further research should be done to enhance the reliability of quantum hardware, optimize quantum algorithms, and design quantum cloud computing security systems, enabling quantum cloud computing to be adopted more broadly as a more transformative model of computation and ensuring that quantum cloud computing can grow sustainably.

Abstract Quantum computing is one of the most advanced technologies of the 21st century that, by utilizing the principles of quantum mechanics, provides the ability to process complex problems in much less time than classical systems. However, access to quantum hardware is limited for most researchers and organizations due to high cost and technical challenges. Quantum Cloud Computing provides a new solution for remote access to this advanced computing power. This article reviews the fundamental concepts of quantum computing and its hybrid model with cloud computing, and analyzes existing architectures, infrastructures, benefits, and challenges. It also reviews active platforms such as IBM Quantum Experience, Amazon Braket, Microsoft Azure Quantum, and Google Quantum AI. It then discusses practical applications such as optimization, cryptography, chemical simulation, and quantum machine learning in the cloud. Challenges such as quantum noise, qubit limitations, security issues, and the need for standardization are also analyzed. The article concludes by examining the future of quantum computing in cloud environments, providing a summary table of key topics and up-to-date resources.

The Quantum Cloud

Sohail Verma, Pretty Bhalla

Quantum computing (QC) is a game-changing concept that has the potential to change many different areas of computing, particularly cloud computing. Despite being in its early stages, QC is a pricey technology recognized for its susceptibility to environmental variables, necessitating operation in highly isolated locations. This creates enormous obstacles for researchers to overcome. However, integrating QC into distant servers, such as cloud infrastructures, shows promise in overcoming these problems and making QC more accessible to consumers. This chapter outlines the vision and problems of quantum cloud computing (QCC) as it integrates with cloud computing. It also outlines QC's advantages over traditional computer applications and evaluates its impact on cloud systems, including expenses, assurances, and agility. Despite the obvious benefits, the chapter highlights some research gaps in QCC. This chapter attempts to provide options for future study by clarifying the benefits and problems of QCC with a focus on addressing existing study gaps.
