Intrinsic correlations for statistical ensembles of Dirac-like structures

Abstract

The Weyl-Wigner formalism for evaluating the intrinsic information of Dirac bispinors as correlated qubits (localized) in a magnetic field is investigated in the extension to statistical ensembles. The confining external field quantizes the quantum correlation measures implied by the spin-parity qubit structure of the Dirac equation in 3+1 dimensions, which simplifies the computation of the entanglement quantifier for mixed states in relativistic Landau levels. This allows for the evaluation of quantum and classical correlations in terms of entropy measures for Dirac structures that are eventually mixed. Our results are twofold. First, a family of mixed Gaussian states is obtained in phase space, and its intrinsic correlation structure is computed in closed form. Second, the partition function for the low-dimensional Dirac equation in a magnetic field is derived through complex integration techniques. It describes the low-temperature regime in terms of analytically continued Zeta functions and the high temperature limit as a polynomial on the temperature variable. The connection with lower dimensional systems is further elicited by mapping the spin-parity qubits to valley-sublattice bispinors of the low-energy effective Hamiltonian of graphene.

Intrinsic quantum correlations for Gaussian localized Dirac cat states in phase space

Caio Fernando e Silva, Alex E. Bernardini

Following the information-based approach to Dirac spinors under a constant magnetic field, the phase-space representation of symmetric and antisymmetric localized Dirac cat states is obtained. The intrinsic entanglement profile implied by the Dirac Hamiltonian is then investigated so as to shed a light on quantum states as carriers of qubits correlated by phase-space variables. Corresponding to the superposition of Gaussian states, cat states exhibit nontrivial elementary information dynamics which include the interplay between intrinsic entanglement and quantum superposition as reported by the corresponding Dirac archetypes. Despite the involved time evolution as nonstationary states, the Wigner function constrains the elementary information quantifiers according to a robust framework which can be consistently used for quantifying the time-dependent $\text{SU}(2)\ensuremath{\bigotimes}\text{SU}(2)$ (spin projection and intrinsic parity) correlation profile of phase-space localized Dirac spinor states. Our results show that the Dirac Wigner functions for cat states---described in terms of generalized Laguerre polynomials---exhibit an almost maximized timely persistent mutual information profile which is engendered by either classical- or quantumlike spin-parity correlations, depending on the magnetic field intensity.

Intrinsic quantum correlations for Gaussian localized Dirac cat states in phase space

Following the information-based approach to Dirac spinors under a constant magnetic field, the phase-space representation of symmetric and anti-symmetric localized Dirac cat states is obtained. The intrinsic entanglement profile implied by the Dirac Hamiltonian is then investigated so as to shed a light on quantum states as carriers of qubits correlated by phase-space variables. Corresponding to the superposition of Gaussian states, cat states exhibit non-trivial elementary information dynamics which include the interplay between intrinsic entanglement and quantum superposition as reported by the corresponding Dirac archetypes. Despite the involved time-evolution as non-stationary states, the Wigner function constrains the elementary information quantifiers according to a robust framework which can be consistently used for quantifying the time-dependent $SU(2) \otimes SU(2)$ (spin projection and intrinsic parity) correlation profile of phase-space localized Dirac spinor states. Effects of Lorentz boosts on Dirac bispinor entanglement

Victor A. S. V. Bittencourt, Bernardini, A., Blasone, M.

In this paper we describe the transformation properties of quantum entanglement encoded in a pair of spin 1/2 particles described via Dirac bispinors. Due to the intrinsic parity- spin internal structure of the bispinors, the joint state is a four-qubit state exhibiting multipartite entanglement, and to compute global correlation properties we consider the averaged negativities over each possible bi-partition. We also consider specific bipartitions, such as the spin-spin and the particle-particle bipartitions. The particle-particle entanglement, between all degrees of freedom of one particle and all degrees of freedom of the other particle, is invariant under boosts if each particle has a definite momentum, although the spin-spin entanglement is degraded for high speed boosts. Correspondingly, the mean negativities are not invariant since the boost drives changes into correlations encoded in specific bipartitions. Finally, the results presented in the literature about spin-momentum entanglement are recovered by considering the projection of bispinorial states into positive intrinsic parity, and some striking differences between the appropriate approach for this case and the one usually treated in the literature are discussed.

Generalized phase-space techniques in mixed-(1/2, S) Heisenberg models: Wigner negativity and Rényi entropy

Nizar Ahami, M. El Baz

Abstract Quantum phases in low-dimensional mixed-spin systems continue to attract significant interest due to their rich correlation structure and relevance to modern quantum technologies. Here, we investigate the one-dimensional mixed spin-(1/2, S ) Heisenberg model in an external magnetic field using a phase-space formulation based on the generalized Wigner function. Focusing on mixed-spin (1/2, 1) and (1/2, 3/2) systems, we show that phase-space indicators, including Rényi entropies and Wigner negativity, provide a complementary characterization of quantum phases and correlations, consistent with phase structures obtained from conventional observables. Our analysis reveals three robust regions in the phase diagram: ferrimagnetic, quantum–spin–liquid-like, and fully polarized. Ground-state level crossings emerge near the corresponding boundaries, marking finite-size precursors of thermodynamic phase transitions. By combining phase-space diagnostics with finite-size scaling, we identify how quantum correlations evolve toward the thermodynamic limit. These results deepen the understanding of correlation-driven phases in mixed-spin chains and establish phase-space methods as powerful tools for analyzing complex quantum magnetic systems.
