The Enigmas of Fluctuations of the Universal Quantum Fields

Mani Lal Bhaumik

Abstract

The primary ingredients of reality are the universal quantum fields, which fluctuate persistently, spontaneously, and randomly. The general perception of the scientific community is that these quantum fluctuations are due to the uncertainty principle. Here, we present cogent arguments to show that the uncertainty principle is a consequence of the quantum fluctuations, but not their cause. This poses a conspicuous enigma as to how the universal fields remain immutable with an expectation value so accurate that it leads to experimental results, which are precise to one part in a trillion. We discuss some reasonable possibilities in the absence of a satisfactory solution to this enigma. Quanta 2023; 12: 190–201.

How Do the Probabilities Arise in Quantum Measurement?

Mani Lal Bhaumik

A satisfactory resolution of the persistent quantum measurement problem remains stubbornly unresolved in spite of an overabundance of efforts of many prominent scientists over the decades. Among others, one key element is considered yet to be resolved. It comprises of where the probabilities of the measurement outcome stem from. This article attempts to provide a plausible answer to this enigma, thus eventually making progress toward a cogent solution of the longstanding measurement problem. Quanta 2021; 10: 65–74.

Vacuum fluctuations the clue for a realistic interpretation of quantum mechanics

Emilio Santos

Arguments are gived for the plausibility that quantum mechanics is a stochastic theory and that many quantum phenomena derive from the existence of a real noise consisting of vacuum fluctuations of all fundamental fields existing in nature. Planck's constant appears as the parameter fixing the scale of the fluctuations. Hints for an intuitive explanation are offered for some typical quantum features, like the uncertainty principle or the particle behaviour of fields. It is proposed that the recent discovery of dark energy in the universe is an argument for the reality of the vacuum fluctuations. A study is made of the compatibility of the model with the results of performed tests of Bell\'{}s inequalities.

Comprehending Quantum Theory from Quantum Fields

Mani Lal Bhaumik

At the primary level of reality as described by quantum field theory, a fundamental particle like an electron represents a stable, discrete, propagating excited state of its underlying quantum field. QFT also tells us that the lowest vacuum state as well as the excited states of such a field is always very active with spontaneous, unpredictable quantum fluctuations. Also an underlying quantum field is known to be indestructible and immutable possessing the same value in each element of spacetime comprising the universe. These characteristics of the primary quantum fields together with the fact that the quantum fluctuations can be cogently substantiated to be quantum coherent throughout the universe provide a possible ontology of the quantum theory. In this picture, the wave function of a quantum particle represents the reality of the inherent quantum fluctuations at the core of the universe and endows the particle its counter intuitive quantum behavior.

Universal Uncertainty Principle and Solution to Puzzle of No Giving Exact Values of General Uncertainty of Physics Quantities in Current Quantum Theories

Jia-Min Song, Ding-Fang Zeng, Changyu Huang +1 more

The current uncertainty principle is only the variance expressions, which is no complete and cannot satisfy the key and real urgent needs of the exactly describing physical systems up to now about one century since proposing uncertainty principle by Heisenberg. This paper not only deduces universal uncertainty principle but also solves the Puzzle of no giving exact values of general uncertainty of any orders of physical quantities in current different quantum theories, i.e., this paper solves the difficult Puzzle that current quantum computer, quantum communication, quantum control, quantum mechanics, particle physics, and quantum field theory and so on cannot give exact values of general uncertainty of any orders of physical quantities. This paper further gives all relevant different expressions of the universal uncertainty principle and their applications. In fact, our studies are consistent with current theories and physical factual experiments, e.g., relevant to hydrogen atom physics experiments Using the new universal uncertainty principle, people can give all applications to atomic physics, quantum mechanics, quantum communication quantum field theory, particle physics and so on, which will result in renewing to urgently do all works relevant to the universal uncertainty principle in all these sciences.

Quantum fluctuations, quanta of electromagnetic interaction, quantum electronic bound states

V. N. Murzin, Ljudmila Yu. Shchurova

Based on the concepts of the quantum field theory of virtual photons as quanta of electromagnetic interaction, we discuss the physical content of the phenomena underlying the principle of quantum uncertainties. We consider the features of the uncertainty relations and the properties of the elementary particles (electrons, protons, etc.) under the conditions of the formation of quantum bound states at atomic and subatomic distances.

Reality of the wave function and quantum entanglement

Mani Lal Bhaumik

The intrinsic fluctuations of the underlying, immutable quantum fields that fill all space and time can support the element of reality of a wave function in quantum mechanics. The mysterious non-locality of quantum entanglement may also be understood in terms of these inherent quantum fluctuations, ever-present at the most fundamental level of the universe.
