Abstract

Abstract In this paper, we consider the dynamics of charge imbalance resolved negativity after a local joining quench in the 1 + 1 dimensional free complex boson CFT. In the first part, we study the local joining quench by applying conformal maps, obtaining analytical universal results. We first calculate the quench dynamics of charged logarithmic negativity. Then using the Fourier transformation, we obtain the charge imbalance resolved negativity. The total negativity can be recovered from the charge-resolved ones. In the second part, we test our CFT predictions against the underlying lattice model numerically. Finally, we explain our results based on the quasi-particle picture.

Dynamics of charge imbalance resolved negativity after a global quench in free scalar field theory

Abstract In this paper, we consider the time evolution of charge imbalance resolved negativity after a global quench in the 1+1 dimensional complex Klein-Gordon theory. We focus on two types of global quenches which are called boundary state quench and mass quench respectively. We first study the boundary state quench where the post-quench dynamic is governed by a massless Hamiltonian. In this case, the temporal evolution of charged imbalance resolved negativity can be obtained first by evaluating the correlators of the fluxed twist field in the upper half plane and then applying Fourier transformation. We test our analytical formulas in the underlying lattice model numerically. We also study the mass quench in the complex harmonic chain where the system evolves according to a massive Hamiltonian after the quench. We argue that our results can be understood in the framework of quasi-particle picture.

Dynamics of charge-imbalance-resolved entanglement negativity after a quench in a free-fermion model

Gilles Parez, Riccarda Bonsignori, Pasquale Calabrese

Abstract The presence of a global internal symmetry in a quantum many-body system is reflected in the fact that the entanglement between its subparts is endowed with an internal structure, namely it can be decomposed as a sum of contributions associated to each symmetry sector. The symmetry resolution of entanglement measures provides a formidable tool to probe the out-of-equilibrium dynamics of quantum systems. Here, we study the time evolution of charge-imbalance-resolved negativity after a global quench in the context of free-fermion systems, complementing former works for the symmetry-resolved entanglement entropy. We find that the charge-imbalance-resolved logarithmic negativity shows an effective equipartition in the scaling limit of large times and system size, with a perfect equipartition for early and infinite times. We also derive and conjecture a formula for the dynamics of the charged Rényi logarithmic negativities. We argue that our results can be understood in the framework of the quasiparticle picture for the entanglement dynamics, and provide a conjecture that we expect to be valid for generic integrable models.

Charge imbalance resolved Rényi negativity for free compact boson: Two disjoint interval case

Himanshu Gaur, Urjit A. Yajnik

Abstract In this paper, we study the symmetry decomposition of Rényi negativity into charge imbalance sectors for the 1+1 dimensional free compact boson field with a global U(1) symmetry in the ground state for the case of two disjoint intervals. We obtain multicharged and charged Rényi negativity moments by computing the four-point correlator of flux-generating vertex operators on the Riemann surface. We then obtain charge imbalance resolved Rényi negativity by taking the Fourier transform of the charged moments. Finally, we match our results against the tight-binding model as a numerical check.

Entanglement negativity after a local quantum quench in conformal field theories

Xueda Wen, Po-Yao Chang, Shinsei Ryu

We study the time evolution of the entanglement negativity after a local quantum quench in (1 + 1)-dimensional conformal field theories (CFTs), which we introduce by suddenly joining two initially decoupled CFTs at their end points. We calculate the negativity evolution for both adjacent intervals and disjoint intervals explicitly. For two adjacent intervals, the entanglement negativity grows logarithmically in time right after the quench. After developing a plateau-like feature, the entanglement negativity drops to the ground-state value. For the case of two spatially separated intervals, a light-cone behavior is observed in the negativity evolution; in addition, a long-range entanglement, which is independent of the distance between two intervals, can be created. Our results agree with the heuristic picture that quasiparticles, which carry entanglement, are emitted from the joining point and propagate freely through the system. Our analytical results are confirmed by numerical calculations based on a critical harmonic chain.

Dynamics of charge-resolved entanglement after a local quench

Noa Feldman, Moshe Goldstein

Quantum entanglement and its main quantitative measures, the entanglement entropy and entanglement negativity, play a central role in many-body physics. An interesting twist arises when the system considered has symmetries leading to conserved quantities: Recent studies introduced a way to define, represent in field theory, calculate for $1+1\mathrm{D}$ conformal systems, and measure, the contribution of individual charge sectors to the entanglement measures between different parts of a system in its ground state. In this paper, we apply these ideas to the time evolution of the charge-resolved contributions to the entanglement entropy and negativity after a local quantum quench. We employ conformal field-theory techniques and find that the known dependence of the total entanglement on time after a quench ${S}_{A}\ensuremath{\sim}ln(t)$, results from $\ensuremath{\sim}\sqrt{ln(t)}$ significant charge sectors, each of which contributes $\ensuremath{\sim}\sqrt{ln(t)}$ to the entropy. We compare our calculations to numerical results obtained by the time-dependent density matrix renormalization-group algorithm and exact solution in the noninteracting limit, finding good agreement between all these methods.

Charge imbalance resolved negativity of massless free bosons

Hui-Huang Chen

In this paper, we consider the computation of symmetry resolved entanglement entropy of two disjoint intervals in the $1+1$ dimensional free compactified boson conformal field theory by studying the four-point function of the fluxed twist fields. We obtained the exact scaling function of this four-point function and discussed its decompactification limit. This scaling function was used to obtain the charge imbalance resolved R\'enyi negativity. We test our analytic formula against exact numerical computation in the complex harmonic chain, finding perfect agreements.
