Abstract

We analyse the dynamics of quantum correlations by obtaining the exact expression of Bures distance entanglement, trace distance discord, and local quantum uncertainty of two two-level atoms. Here, the atoms undergo two-photon transitions mediated through an intermediate virtual state where each atom is separately coupled to a dissipative reservoir at zero temperature in the presence of the Stark shift effect. We have investigated the dynamics of this atomic system for two different initial conditions of the environment. In the first case, we have assumed the environment's state to be in ground state and in the other case, we have assumed the state to be in the first excited state. The second initial condition is significant as it shows the role played by both the Stark shift parameters in contrast to only one of the Stark shift parameters for the first initial condition. Our results demonstrate that quantum correlations can be sustained for an extended period in the presence of Stark shift effect in the case of both Markovian and non-Markovian reservoirs. The effect in the non-Markovian reservoir is more prominent than the Markovian reservoir, even for a very small value of the Stark shift parameter. We observe that among the correlation measures considered, only local quantum uncertainty is accompanied by a sudden change phenomenon, i.e. an abrupt change in the decay rate of a correlation measure. Our findings are significant as preserving quantum correlations is one of the essential aspects in attaining optimum performance in quantum information tasks.

Dynamics and maintenance of bipartite entanglement via the Stark shift effect inside dissipative reservoirs

Sare Golkar, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly

Abstract In this paper, the exact entanglement dynamics are obtained of two two-level atoms with two-photon transitions accompanied by the Stark shift, where each atom is independently coupled to a dissipative reservoir at zero temperature. The results show that, in the presence of Stark shift, entanglement can be preserved for a long time and the decoherence process of entanglement slows down. In particular, we find that while the Stark shift has a constructive effect on entanglement protection for both Markovian and non-Markovian reservoirs, this positive effect can be more visible in the non-Markovian reservoir even with low Stark shift parameter values.

Enhancing the atomic correlation dynamics under the effects of Stark shift and Kerr medium through multi-photon transitions

Samira Elghaayda, Atta Ur Rahman, Mostafa Mansour

Enhancing and preserving the atomic correlation and entanglement is of significant utility in quantum information. To this aim, we study the temporal evolution of uncertainty-induced nonlocality ([Formula: see text]) and logarithmic negativity ([Formula: see text]) as measures of quantum correlations (QCs) and quantum entanglement (QE) between two effective atoms coupled to a bosonic reservoir in the absence of thermal fluctuations and in the presence of Kerr medium (KM) and Stark shift (SS) under which n-photon transitions are permitted. We explore how Markovian and non-Markovian regimes affect the temporal dynamics of atomic correlation and entanglement and its limitations. Our findings indicate that by adjusting the KM and SS parameters, the quantum correlations between the two atoms can be enhanced and maintained while displaying similar qualitative behavior. Notably, it was observed that the QCs and QE quantities are at their highest magnitudes in the non-Markovian regime when the strengths of both SS and KM are increased, implying that QCs and QE are well protected. In contrast to the typical view that protecting the QCs from decoherence that may be observed owing to environmental noise, we proposed a gainful way to reduce the atomic decoherence by adjusting the number of n-photon transitions. Our investigation reveals that in the non-Markovian regime, the considered system exhibits better resistance against decoherence in comparison to the Markovian regime, as evidenced by the significant amount of quantum correlations detected among the two effective atoms at a specific point in time.

Local quantum uncertainty and trace distance discord dynamics for two-qubit X states embedded in non-Markovian environment

Youssef Khedif, Mohammed Daoud A

We investigate the behavior of quantum correlations in some specific Werner-like two-qubit states, where the qubit interacts individually with non-Markovian environment. We employ the local quantum uncertainty and trace distance discord to quantify the amount of quantum correlations between the evolved qubits and the corresponding analytical expressions are derived. For specific values of the parameters characterizing the whole system, the dynamics of quantum correlations exhibits collapse and revival phenomena. The influence of the non-Markovianity is also investigated to analyze the monotonic decay of quantum correlations in the limiting case of Markovian regime. Furthermore, we show that trace distance discord captures quantum correlations that cannot be revealed by local quantum uncertainty in some particular situations.

Quantum correlation dynamics of two qubits in independent reservoirs with initial system-reservoir correlations

Xin-Ping Ma, Yue Sun, Jin‐Liang Guo

Abstract The dynamics of entanglement and quantum discord (QD) between two two-level atoms interacting with two dissipative coupled cavities in the presence of initial atom-cavity correlations is investigated. In comparison with the result of the initial factorized state, we show that the initial state contained quantum correlation of atom-cavity is most robust against the dissipative environment, and the initial atom-cavity correlations, especially the quantum correlation, play a constructive role in the generation of atomic entanglement and QD. Simultaneously, the comparison between Markovian and non-Markovian dynamics, and the influences of inter-cavity hopping rate are also taken into account and analyzed.

Dynamics of quantum correlations in two 2-level atoms coupled to thermal reservoirs

Zakaria Dahbi, Mostafa Mansour, Abderrahim El Allati

Abstract In this paper, we examine the dynamics of quantum correlations in two noninteractive two-level atoms coupled to two separate identical thermal reservoirs. The two atoms are initially produced in a Gisin state, which is a blend of a maximally entangled two-qubit state and a separable mixed state. Quantum entanglement is measured by logarithmic negativity, while the nonclassical correlations are characterized by trace distance discord and local quantum uncertainty. Using the mean photon number of reservoirs and spontaneous emission rates of atoms as inputs, we explore how these quantum resources behave. Consequently, we demonstrate that the dynamics of quantum entanglement and quantum correlations depend upon the parameters driving the system. Significantly, we further demonstrate that specific parameters may be tweaked to preserve the quantum resources in the system. The results give a full grasp of the quantum features of such a two-level atomic system, showing capabilities to construct quantum technology.

The entanglement of atoms with two-photon transitions in the presence of ac Stark shift of energy levels

Eugene K. Bashkirov, Башкиров Е. К

In this paper, we investigated the dynamics of atomic entanglement in a quantum system consisting of two identical two-level atoms (qubits) resonantly interacting with a mode of a thermal cavity field through degenerate two-photon transitions, in the presence of a Stark energy level shift. An analytical expression is obtained for the atom entanglement (negativity) parameter for separable and entangled initial states of atoms. The influence of the Stark shift on the degree of atom-atom entanglement is considered. It is established that the Stark shift leads to a significant increase in the degree of atom entanglement in the case of separable initial states of atoms and to stabilization of atomic entanglement in the case of entangled initial states of atoms.
