Abstract

Thermal entanglement of a geometrically frustrated spin-1 Heisenberg diamond cluster is examined within the framework of the exact diagonalization method by computing the measure of entanglement negativity. The calculated exact analytical results are applied in order to obtain theoretical prediction of the robustness of bipartite thermal entanglement of the tetranuclear nickel complex [Ni4(CO3)2(aetpy)8](ClO4)4 (aetpy = 2-aminoethyl-pyridine) against rising temperature and magnetic field.

On the Concurrent Bipartite Entanglement of a Spin-1 Heisenberg Diamond Cluster Developed for Tetranuclear Nickel Complexes

Azadeh Ghannadan, Katarína Karľová, Jozef Strečka

The bipartite entanglement of a quantum spin-1 Heisenberg diamond cluster in the presence of the external magnetic field is quantified through the negativity, which is calculated for spin pairs from a diagonal and a side of the diamond spin cluster taking into consideration two different coupling constants. The magnetic field may cause a few crossings of energy levels of the spin-1 Heisenberg diamond cluster, which is responsible at low enough temperatures for a stepwise dependence of the negativity on the magnetic field accompanied with a drop of the negativity at respective magnetic-field-driven transitions due to emergence of mixed states. It is shown that the bipartite entanglement between spin pairs on a diagonal and a side of the diamond spin cluster is concurrent although they may eventually become both nonzero albeit not fully saturated. It is predicted that the tetranuclear nickel complex [Ni4(μ-CO3)2(aetpy)8](ClO4)4 (aetpy = 2-aminoethyl-pyridine), which represents an experimental realization of the spin-1 Heisenberg diamond cluster with two different antiferromagnetic coupling constants, exhibits a substantial bipartite entanglement between two spin-1 Ni2+ magnetic ions from a shorter diagonal of the diamond spin cluster up to temperatures approximately about 50 K and up to magnetic fields about 70 T.

Magnetic-Field-Orientation Dependent Thermal Entanglement of a Spin-1 Heisenberg Dimer: The Case Study of Dinuclear Nickel Complex with an Uniaxial Single-Ion Anisotropy

Azadeh Ghannadan, Jozef Strečka

The bipartite entanglement in pure and mixed states of a quantum spin-1 Heisenberg dimer with exchange and uniaxial single-ion anisotropies is quantified through the negativity in a presence of the external magnetic field. At zero temperature the negativity shows a marked stepwise dependence on a magnetic field with two abrupt jumps and plateaus, which can be attributed to the quantum antiferromagnetic and quantum ferrimagnetic ground states. The magnetic-field-driven phase transition between the quantum antiferromagnetic and quantum ferrimagnetic ground states manifests itself at nonzero temperatures by a local minimum of the negativity, which is followed by a peculiar field-induced rise of the negativity observable in a range of moderately strong magnetic fields. The rising temperature generally smears out abrupt jumps and plateaus of the negativity, which cannot be distinguished in the relevant dependencies above a certain temperature. It is shown that the thermal entanglement is most persistent against rising temperature at the magnetic field, for which an energy gap between a ground state and a first excited state is highest. Besides, temperature variations of the negativity of the spin-1 Heisenberg dimer with an easy-axis single-ion anisotropy may exhibit a singular point-kink, at which the negativity has discontinuity in its first derivative. The homodinuclear nickel complex [Ni2(Medpt)2(μ-ox)(H2O)2](ClO4)2·2H2O provides a suitable experimental platform of the antiferromagnetic spin-1 Heisenberg dimer, which allowed us to estimate a strength of the bipartite entanglement between two exchange-coupled Ni2+ magnetic ions on the grounds of the interaction constants reported previously from the fitting procedure of the magnetization data. It is verified that the negativity of this dinuclear compound is highly magnetic-field-orientation dependent due to presence of a relatively strong uniaxial single-ion anisotropy.

Magnetization Plateaus and Thermal Entanglement of Spin Systems

N.S. Ananikian, Č. Burdík, L. Ananikyan +1 more

The geometrically magnetic frustrations and quantum thermal entanglement of antiferromagnetic metal-containing compounds are considered on a diamond chain. We researched the magnetic and thermal properties of the symmetric Hubbard dimers with delocalized interstitial spins and the quantum entanglement states. It is presented magnetization plateaus and negativity in spin-1 Ising-Heisenberg model using transfer matrix technique. Applying the dynamic system approach we study the magnetic curves, Lyapunov exponents and superstable point in the two-dimensional mapping for the partition function of spin-1 classical and Ising-Heisenberg models at T → 0 on a diamond chain.

Thermal entanglement of a spin-1/2 Ising–Heisenberg model on a symmetrical diamond chain

N.S. Ananikian, L N Ananikyan, Levon Chakhmakhchyan +1 more

The entanglement quantum properties of a spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg model on a symmetrical diamond chain were analyzed. Due to the separable nature of the Ising-type exchange interactions between neighboring Heisenberg dimers, calculation of the entanglement can be performed exactly for each individual dimer. Pairwise thermal entanglement was studied in terms of the isotropic Ising-Heisenberg model and analytical expressions for the concurrence (as a measure of bipartite entanglement) were obtained. The effects of external magnetic field H and next-nearest neighbor interaction J(m) between nodal Ising sites were considered. The ground state structure and entanglement properties of the system were studied in a wide range of coupling constant values. Various regimes with different values of ground state entanglement were revealed, depending on the relation between competing interaction strengths. Finally, some novel effects, such as the two-peak behavior of concurrence versus temperature and coexistence of phases with different values of magnetic entanglement, were observed.

Spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg distorted diamond chain with antiferromagnetic Ising and ferromagnetic Heisenberg interactions

Bohdan Lisnyi

The exactly solvable spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg distorted diamond chain in the presence of the external magnetic field is investigated for the case of antiferromagnetic Ising and ferromagnetic XXZ Heisenberg interactions. The influence of quantum fluctuations and the distortion on the ground state, magnetic and thermal properties of the model are studied in detail. In particular, it is established that the zero-temperature magnetization curve may involve intermediate plateaus just at zero and 1/3 of the saturation magnetization. It is demonstrated that the temperature dependence of the specific heat reveals up to four distinct peaks at zero magnetic field and up to five distinct peaks at a weak magnetic field. The physical origin of all observed additional peaks of the specific heat has been clarified on the grounds of dominating thermal excitations. We have shown that the quantum fluctuations give rise to an effective geometrical frustration in this chain.

Thermal entanglement of the spin-1 Ising–Heisenberg diamond chain with biquadratic interaction

Yidan Zheng, Zhu Mao, Bin Zhou

We investigate the thermal entanglement of the spin-1 Ising–Heisenberg diamond chain, which can be regarded as a theoretical model for the homometallic molecular ferrimagnet [ Ni 3 ( C 4 H 2 O 4 ) 2 − ( μ 3 − OH ) 2 ( H 2 O ) 4 ] n ⋅ ( 2 H 2 O ) n . Two cases, i.e., the isotropic Heisenberg (Ising–XXX) coupling model and anisotropic Heisenberg (Ising–XXZ) coupling model, are discussed respectively. The negativity is chosen as the measurement of the thermal entanglement. By means of the transfer-matrix approach, we focus on the effects of biquadratic interaction parameters on the negativity of the infinite spin-1 Ising–Heisenberg diamond chain. In the Ising–XXX coupling model, it is shown that for the case with ferromagnetic coupling the thermal entanglement can be induced by the biquadratic interaction, but the external magnetic field will suppress the occurrence of the entanglement induced by the biquadratic interaction. In the Ising–XXZ coupling model, for the case with antiferromagnetic coupling, due to the biquadratic interaction the effect of the anisotropy parameter on the entanglement will be suppressed at near-zero temperature. Moreover, the biquadratic interaction makes the threshold temperature increase. The effects of the external magnetic field on the thermal entanglement are also discussed, and it is observed that the entanglement revival phenomena exist in both models considered.
