Effects of dipolar coupling on an entanglement storage device

Abstract

Abstract Quantum computation requires efficient long-term storage devices to preserve quantum states. An attractive candidate for such storage devices is qubits connected to a common dissipative environment. The common environment gives rise to persistent entanglements in these qubit systems. Hence these systems act efficiently as a storage device of entanglement. However, the existence of a common environment often requires the physical proximity of the qubits and hence results in direct dipolar coupling between the qubits. In this work, we investigate effects of the secular and the nonsecular part of the dipolar coupling on the environment-induced entanglement using a recently-proposed fluctuation-regulated quantum master equation (Chakrabarti and Bhattacharyya 2018 Phys. Rev. A 97 063837). We show that nonsecular part of the dipolar coupling results in reduced entanglement and hence less efficiency of the storage devices. We also discuss the properties of efficient storage that mitigates the detrimental effects of the dipolar coupling on the stored entanglement.

Quantum correlations dynamics of dipolar-coupled spin systems subject of a common dephasing noisy channels

A. Elamraoui, L. Jebli, Mohammed Daoud A

We address the dynamics of quantum coherence, quantum correlations, quantum steering and Bell nonlocality in a model of two interacting qubits, initially prepared in a thermal state. The two qubit are coupled via a dipolar interaction and exposed to Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya (DM) interaction and classical fluctuating fields influenced by Ornstein–Uhlenbeck (OU)-Static (ST) mixed noise in common environments. We analyse the dynamics effects on quantum resources, as Bell nonlocality, quantum steering, quantum entanglement, quantum discord and quantum coherence. We find that the dynamics of quantum correlations are not only strongly affected by the type of system-environment coupling but also by the kind of the considered noise. The entanglement diminution is over time, accompanied by damped oscillations, indicative of coherent dynamics. The DM interaction induces a decrease in quantum coherence and correlations with increasing values, leading to complete maximizing at critical thresholds. The effects of thermal effects destroy the quantum correlation. The variations in state noise disorder parameters reveal enhanced preservation and reduced oscillations as the noise disorder parameter decreases, emphasizing its crucial role in shaping quantum correlations.

Quantum entanglement induced by dissipation

Taeseung Choi, Hyuk‐Jae Lee

We solve the master equation of a two-qubit system with the induced unitary term and the dissipation term coming from the system-environment coupling. We explain under this situation how entanglement between two qubits can be generated and persist at the asymptotic time.

Entanglement persistence in contact with the environment: exact results

Jerzy Dajka, Marcin Mierzejewski, J. Łuczka

The evolution of quantum entanglement of a pair of non-interacting qubits is studied for the case where one of them is non-dissipatively but dephasingly coupled to the environment. The reduced non-Markovian dynamics of the qubits is exact for an arbitrary strength of coupling to the environment and the arbitrary frequency spectrum of environment fluctuations. While for the subohmic and ohmic environments the entanglement diminishes, for the superohmic zero-temperature environment it survives for a long time.

Stationary entanglement in strongly coupled qubits

Keyu Xia, Mihai Macovei, Jörg Evers

The dynamics of two superconducting flux qubits coupled to each other and to a common bath is discussed. We focus on the case in which the qubit-qubit coupling strength dominates over the respective qubit transition frequencies. We derive the master equation including collective effect by modeling the bath as one-dimensional open space in this ultrastrong coupling regime, and find that the coupling greatly modifies both the coherent and the incoherent dynamics of the system, giving rise to qualitatively different properties. By analyzing the steady-state and the dynamics governed by the master equation, we show that ground-state entanglement and maximum coherence between the two qubits can be induced by the environment alone. By employing in addition a single external driving field, both the entangled antisymmetric and symmetric collective states can be populated and preserved with high fidelity. Similarly, entangled states can be prepared using adiabatic passage techniques using two external fields. Our results could find applications in entangling quantum gates and quantum memories free from the decoherence.

Tunable Dynamics of a Dipolar Quantum Battery: Role of Spin-Spin Interactions and Coherence

J. Ramya Parkavi, R. Muthuganesan, V. K. Chandrasekar

This study explores the energy storage dynamics of a quantum battery (QB) modeled using a dipolar spin system with Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) interaction. We examine the performance of this system in terms of ergotropy, instantaneous power, capacity, and quantum coherence using a two-qubit model. By solving the system's time evolution under cyclic unitary processes, we analyze how external parameters such as temperature, magnetic field, and DM interaction influence the charging behavior and quantum resources of the battery. The findings demonstrate that quantum coherence and DM interaction significantly enhance the energy storage efficiency and power output of the quantum battery, offering promising strategies for designing high-performance quantum energy storage devices. Furthermore, we investigate the performance of quantum battery under the influence of a common dephasing environment, which limits the long-term work-extraction capability of dipolar quantum batteries.
