Abstract

Abstract The remote control of coherence is a crucial step for its application in quantum computation. The maximal steered coherence (MSC) and its conversion to entanglement in multiple bosonic reservoirs are investigated. It is shown that the MSC decays with time in the Markovian regime and behaves as damped oscillations in the non‐Markovian regime. The MSC can also be connected directly to the strength of non‐Markovianity, through which it is shown that it can be noticeably enhanced by taking full advantage of the non‐Markovian effects. Besides, the MSC can be converted completely to entanglement via optimal incoherent operation applied to the steered qubit and an incoherent ancilla which is immune to decoherence, and the generated entanglement is stronger than the shared entanglement in prior. These findings suggest a potential way for remotely generating and manipulating coherence and entanglement in noisy environments.

Investigating maximal steered coherence under the common impacts of reservoir and noise

Ling-Ling Xing, Huan Yang, Gang 刚 Zhang 张

Abstract Maximal steered coherence (MSC) is a noteworthy resource measure in the field of quantum information, and it is defined under the framework of coherence measure and the formalism of quantum steering ellipsoids (QSEs). Here, we explore the MSC of a two-qubit X state under the common influences of reservoir and noise. The results disclose that the introduction of auxiliary qubits can give rise to enhancement of the MSC in both the strong and weak coupling regimes. Moreover, more auxiliary qubits can decrease the oscillation period of the MSC, and also suppress the oscillation amplitude of the MSC in the strong coupling regime. In contrast, the increases in auxiliary qubits result in the oscillation of the MSC for the setting of the initially weak coupling regime. Of particular interest is that the improvement effects of more auxiliary qubits on the MSC in the initially weak coupling regime are significantly stronger than that in the initially strong coupling regime.

Maximal-steered-coherence protection by quantum reservoir engineering

Yusef Maleki, Bahram Ahansaz

We show that the effects of decoherence on quantum steering ellipsoids can be controlled by a specific reservoir manipulating, in both Markovian and non-Markovian realms. Therefore, the so-called maximal steered coherence could be protected through reservoir engineering implemented by coupling auxiliary qubits to the reservoir.

Suppressing decoherence of noisy environment through filtering operator

Zhiming Huang

Inevitable interaction between quantum system and environment will induce decoherence which would destroy the quantum coherence (QC) of quantum system. In this paper, we examine the QC behaviors for a single qubit locally coupled to the zero-temperature multiple bosonic reservoirs. Comparing the Markovian and non-Markovian QC behaviors, it is demonstrated that QC decays as decoherent time goes by, and non-Markovian QC exhibits obvious oscillating behaviors. The oscillatory frequency and amplitude increase with growing coupling strength and number of reservoirs. In addition, in non-Markovian regime, QC vanishes at some discrete critical time points. Finally, we reveal an effective method to suppress decoherence with filtering operation.

Dynamical behavior of maximal steered coherence and concurrence under decoherence

Huan Yang, Ming‐Ming Du, Wen‐Yang Sun +4 more

Abstract In this work, by employing quantum steering ellipsoid (QSE) pictures, we investigate the dynamical characteristics of maximal steered coherence (MSC) and concurrence for an arbitrary Bell-diagonal state when the qubit-system suffers from canonical noisy channels, such as phase damping, bit flip and bit-phase flip channels. It has been found that the MSC is equal to the longest semiaxis length of the QSEs. Remarkably, the QSEs have an invariant semiaxis length under these mentioned unital channels. The dynamical behavior of MSC is dependent of the initial ellipsoid shape, and MSC is frozen to the length of invariant semiaxis ultimately. The time of frozen MSC can be derived by means of QSEs. Moreover, one can obtain that the concurrence depends on the sum of three semiaxis lengths of QSEs under these unital channels. Interestingly, the concurrence will be sudden death, if the sum of three semiaxis lengths is equal to 1. Additionally, we conclude that the time of entanglement sudden death can be deduced via QSE pictures.

Maximal steered coherence in the background of Schwarzschild space-time

Abstract In the past two decades, the exploration of quantumness within Schwarzschild spacetime has garnered significant interest, particularly regarding the Hawking radiation’s impact on quantum correlations and quantum coherence. Building on this foundation, we investigate how Hawking radiation influences maximal steered coherence (MSC)-a crucial measure for gauging the ability to generate coherence through steering. We find that as the Hawking temperature increases, the physically accessible MSC degrade while the unaccessible MSC increase. This observation is attributed to a redistribution of the initial quantum correlations, previously acknowledged by inertial observers, across all bipartite modes. In particular, we find that in limit case that the Hawking temperature tends to infinity, the accessible MSC equals to $$1/\sqrt{2}$$ 1 / 2 of its initial value, and the unaccessible MSC between mode A and $$\overline{B}$$ B ¯ also equals to the same value. Our findings illuminate the intricate dynamics of quantum information in the vicinity of black holes, suggesting that Hawking radiation plays a pivotal role in reshaping the landscape of quantum coherence and entanglement in curved spacetime. This study not only advances our theoretical understanding of black hole thermodynamics but also opens new avenues for investigating the interface between quantum mechanics and general relativity.

Maximal steered coherence in accelerating Unruh–DeWitt detectors

Huangshuai Li, Yi-Hao Fan, Shu-Ting Shen +6 more

Abstract Quantum coherence, a fundamental aspect of quantum mechanics, plays a crucial role in various quantum information tasks. However, preserving coherence under extreme conditions, such as relativistic acceleration, poses significant challenges. In this paper, we investigate the influence of Unruh temperature and energy levels on the evolution of maximal steered coherence (MSC) for different initial states. Our results reveal that MSC is strongly dependent on Unruh temperature, exhibiting behaviors ranging from monotonic decline to non-monotonic recovery, depending on the initial state parameter $$\Delta _0$$ Δ 0 . Notably, when $$\Delta _0=1$$ Δ 0 = 1 , MSC is generated as Unruh temperature increases. Additionally, we observe that higher energy levels help preserve or enhance MSC in the presence of Unruh effects. These findings offer valuable insights into the intricate relationship between relativistic effects and quantum coherence, with potential applications in developing robust quantum technologies for non-inertial environments.
