Abstract

We develop a many-particle quantum-hydrodynamical model of fermion matter interacting with the external classical electromagnetic and gravitational/inertial and torsion fields. The consistent hydrodynamical formulation is constructed for the many-particle quantum system of Dirac fermions on the basis of the nonrelativistic Pauli-like equation obtained via the Foldy–Wouthuysen transformation. With the help of the Madelung decomposition approach, the explicit relations between the microscopic and macroscopic fluid variables are derived. The closed system of equations of quantum hydrodynamics encompasses the continuity equation, and the dynamical equations of the momentum balance and the spin density evolution. The possible experimental manifestations of the torsion in the dynamics of spin waves is discussed.

Quantum hydrodynamics description of spin-1 Bose–Einstein condensates

Mariya Iv. Trukhanova, Yuri N. Obukhov

Abstract We develop a novel model of the magnetized spin-1 Bose–Einstein condensate (BEC) of neutral atoms, using the method of many-particle quantum hydrodynamic (QHD) and propose an original derivation of the system of continual equations. We consider bosons with a spin-spin interaction and a short range interaction in the first order in the interaction radius, on the of basis of the self-consistent field approximation of the QHD equations. We demonstrate that the dynamics of the fluid velocity and magnetization is determined by a nontrivial modification of the Euler and Landau–Lifshitz equation, and show that a nontrivial modification of the spin density evolution equation contains the spin torque effect that arises from the self-interactions between spins of the bosons. The properties of the dispersion spectrum of collective excitations are described. We obtain the new contribution of the self-interaction of spins in the spin wave spectrum together with the influence of an external magnetic field and spin-spin interactions between polarized particles. The anisotropic spin wave instability is predicted.

Finslerian geometrization of quantum mechanics in the hydrodynamical representation

Shi‐Dong Liang, Sorin V. Sabău, Tiberiu Harko

We consider a Finslerian-type geometrization of the nonrelativistic quantum mechanics in its hydrodynamical (Madelung) formulation, by also taking into account the effects of the presence of the electromagnetic fields on the particle motion. In the Madelung representation, the Schr\"odinger equation can be reformulated as the classical continuity and Euler equations of classical fluid mechanics in the presence of a quantum potential, representing the quantum hydrodynamical evolution equations. The equation of particle motion can then be obtained from a Lagrangian similarly to its classical counterpart. After the reparametrization of the Lagrangian, it turns out that the Finsler metric describing the geometric properties of quantum hydrodynamics is a Kropina metric. We present and discuss in detail the metric and the geodesic equations describing the geometric properties of the quantum motion in the presence of electromagnetic fields. As an application of the obtained formalism, we consider the Zermelo navigation problem in a quantum hydrodynamical system, whose solution is given by a Kropina metric. The case of the Finsler geometrization of the quantum hydrodynamical motion of spinless particles in the absence of electromagnetic interactions is also considered in detail, and the Zermelo navigation problem for this case is also discussed.

A Covariant Chiral-Hydrodynamic Formulation of the Dirac Equation in Curved Spacetime

Jorge Meza-Domínguez, Tonatiuh Matos

The hydrodynamic formulation of the Dirac equation has historically been hindered by the inability to close the system of physical variables without resorting to infinite moment hierarchies. We resolve this longstanding issue by developing a fully covariant chiral-hydrodynamic formulation of the Dirac field in curved spacetime. Working in the Weyl representation, we introduce two independent null vectors, $P_L^μ$ and $P_R^μ$, which decouple the left and right chiral components. This allows us to define chiral geodesic and stochastic velocities, yielding a closed system of exactly eight real equations that corresponds directly to the Dirac field degrees of freedom. Remarkably, this formulation naturally isolates the spin-orbit coupling $(q/2)σ^{μν}F_{μν}$ while demonstrating the vanishing of the spin-gravity coupling in torsion-free general relativity. To demonstrate the analytical power of this framework, we specialize to the Schwarzschild geometry. We obtain exact radial solutions in terms of confluent Heun functions and directly compute the quasi-bound state spectrum (fermionic resonances), quasinormal mode frequencies, and greybody factors. Furthermore, by establishing an exact energy balance equation -- representing the first law of thermodynamics for Dirac fields -- we derive the Hawking radiation flux purely from chiral flux conservation at the event horizon. This work not only provides a closed hydrodynamic theory for spin-1/2 fluids but also establishes a unified framework for analyzing quantum information and fermion dynamics in strong gravitational backgrounds.

Quantum--Fluid Correspondence for Systems of Nonrelativistic Spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ Particles

Naoki Sato, Michio Yamada

We show that a charged fluid endowed with an internal spin degree of freedom naturally satisfies the Pauli equation for a nonrelativistic spin-1/2 particle, and that a collection of n such interacting fluids can be reformulated as an Euler flow in 3n dimensions, thereby providing a natural representation of a system of n Pauli particles. These results provide a fluid-mechanical derivation of the Pauli equation and extend the Madelung, or quantum-hydrodynamic, picture to many-particle quantum systems. In particular, they imply that an n-qubit quantum computer can, at least in principle, be realized as a suitable combination of n fluids, or equivalently as a 3n-dimensional Euler flow.

The symplectic geometrical formulation of quantum hydrodynamics

Andika Kusuma Wijaya, Arief Hermanto, Muhammad Farchani Rosyid

Quantum hydrodynamics described by Madelung equations is analyzed in the framework of symplectic geometry i.e. in covariant phase space approach to geometric field theory. The pre-symplectic manifolds providing the phase spaces describing the Hamiltonian dynamics of quantum fluid are constructed from the set of all solutions of Madelung equations and their corresponding Lagrangian densities. The Madelung equations under consideration are the Madelung equations associated to Schroedinger equations (in the nonrelativistic case) and Madelung equations associated to Klein–Gordon equations (in the relativistic case). The cases where the coupling with electromagnetic fields is present are also considered here. Our symplectic formulation is different from that of [M. Spera, Moment map and gauge geometric aspects of the Schrodinger and Pauli equations, Int. J. Geom. Methods Mod. Phys. 13 (2016) 1–36] in the choice of fundamental fields or variables. Here we regard density function [Formula: see text] and phase function [Formula: see text] not as canonical pair but as the fundamental fields of the theory. The Hamiltonian vector fields corresponding to an observable are obtained from the Hamiltonian equation generated by the observable. The Poisson bracket of two observables then is determined by the Hamiltonian vector fields associated to each observable. In general, the Poisson bracket of two observables is not unique due to the fact that every observable has more than one corresponding Hamiltonian vector field. It is pointed out that the Poisson bracket has a unique value over a certain subset of the set of all observables defined on the pre-symplectic manifold of the Madelung equation under consideration.

Extended hydrodynamics of degenerate partially spin polarized fermions with short-range interaction up to the third order by interaction radius approximation

Pavel A. Andreev

Abstract The possibility of the hydrodynamic description of ultracold fermions via the microscopic derivation of the model is described. Differently truncated hydrodynamic models are derived and compared. All models are based on the microscopic many-particle Schrödinger equation. Minimal coupling models based on the continuity and Euler equations are considered. An extended hydrodynamic model including the independent dynamics of the momentum flux (the pressure evolution) is derived. The influence of the spin polarization is described. The short-range interaction is considered in the isotropic limit. The interaction is considered up to the third order by interaction radius. Therefore, the single-fluid model of spin-1/2 fermions and the two-fluid model of spin-1/2 fermions are under consideration in this paper. Spectra of bulk collective excitations are derived and compared in terms of different models.
