Integrable hard-rod deformation of the Heisenberg spin chains

Abstract

We present integrable models of interacting spin-1/2 chains which can be interpreted as hard-rod deformations of the XXZ Heisenberg chains. The models support multiple particle types: Dynamical hard rods of length ℓ and particles with lengths ℓ^{'}<ℓ that are immobile except for the interaction with the hard rods. We encounter a remarkable phenomenon in these interacting models: Exact spectral degeneracies across different deformations and volumes. The algebraic integrability of these systems is also treated using a recently developed formalism for medium-range integrable spin chains. We present the detailed Bethe Ansatz solution for the case ℓ=2.

Integrable spin chain with Hilbert space fragmentation and solvable real-time dynamics

Balázs Pozsgay, Tamás Gombor, Arthur Hutsalyuk +3 more

We revisit the so-called folded XXZ model, which was treated earlier by two independent research groups. We argue that this spin-1/2 chain is one of the simplest quantum integrable models, yet it has quite remarkable physical properties. The particles have constant scattering lengths, which leads to a simple treatment of the exact spectrum and the dynamics of the system. The Hilbert space of the model is fragmented, leading to exponentially large degeneracies in the spectrum, such that the exponent depends on the particle content of a given state. We provide an alternative derivation of the Hamiltonian and the conserved charges of the model, including an alternative interpretation of the so-called "dual model" considered earlier. We also construct a nonlocal map that connects the model with the Maassarani-Mathieu spin chain, also known as the SU(3) XX model. We consider the exact solution of the model with periodic and open boundary conditions, and also derive multiple descriptions of the exact thermodynamics of the model. We consider quantum quenches of different types. In one class of problems the dynamics can be treated relatively easily: we compute an example for the real-time dependence of a local observable. In another class of quenches the degeneracies of the model lead to the breakdown of equilibration, and we argue that they can lead to persistent oscillations. We also discuss connections with the TT[over ¯] and hard rod deformations known from quantum field theories.

Remarks towards the spectrum of the Heisenberg spin chain type models

Č. Burdík, Jan Fuksa, A. P. Isaev +2 more

The integrable close and open chain models can be formulated in terms of generators of the Hecke algebras. In this review paper, we describe in detail the Bethe ansatz for the XXX and the XXZ integrable close chain models. We find the Bethe vectors for two-component and inhomogeneous models. We also find the Bethe vectors for the fermionic realization of the integrable XXX and XXZ close chain models by means of the algebraic and coordinate Bethe ansatz. Special modification of the XXZ closed spin chain model (“small polaron model”) is considered. Finally, we discuss some questions relating to the general open Hecke chain models.

Matrix Product Symmetries and Breakdown of Thermalization from Hard Rod Deformations

Márton Borsi, Levente Pristyák, Balázs Pozsgay

We construct families of exotic spin-1/2 chains using a procedure called "hard rod deformation." We treat both integrable and nonintegrable examples. The models possess a large noncommutative symmetry algebra, which is generated by matrix product operators with a fixed small bond dimension. The symmetries lead to Hilbert space fragmentation and to the breakdown of thermalization. As an effect, the models support persistent oscillations in nonequilibrium situations. Similar symmetries have been reported earlier in integrable models, but here we show that they also occur in nonintegrable cases.

Current operators in integrable spin chains: lessons from long range deformations

Balázs Pozsgay

We consider the finite volume mean values of current operators in integrable spin chains with local interactions, and provide an alternative derivation of the exact result found recently by the author and two collaborators. We use a certain type of long range deformation of the local spin chains, which was discovered and explored earlier in the context of the AdS/CFT correspondence. This method is immediately applicable also to higher rank models: as a concrete example we derive the current mean values in the SU(3) SU(3) -symmetric fundamental model, solvable by the nested Bethe Ansatz. The exact results take the same form as in the Heisenberg spin chains: they involve the one-particle eigenvalues of the conserved charges and the inverse of the Gaudin matrix.

Exact solutions forA-DTemperley - Lieb models

R Köberle, A Lima-Santos

We solve for the spectrum of quantum spin chains based on representations of the Temperley - Lieb algebra associated with the quantum groups for and . We employ a generalization of the coordinate Bethe ansatz developed previously for the deformed biquadratic spin-one chain. As expected, all of these models have equivalent spectra, i.e. they differ only in the degeneracy of their eigenvalues. This is true for finite length and open boundary conditions. For periodic boundary conditions the spectra of the lower-dimensional representations are contained entirely in the higher-dimensional ones. The Bethe states are highest-weight states of the quantum group, except in certain cases where the states have energy zero.
