Coherent states for a system of an electron moving in a plane: case of discrete spectrum

Abstract

Abstract In this work, we construct different classes of coherent states related to a quantum system, recently studied in [1], of an electron moving in a plane in uniform external magnetic and electric fields which possesses both discrete and continuous spectra. The eigenfunctions are realized as an orthonormal basis of a suitable Hilbert space appropriate for building the related coherent states. These latter are achieved in the context where we consider both spectra purely discrete obeying the criteria that a family of coherent states must satisfy.

Coherent states for a system of an electron moving in a plane

Abstract In this paper, we construct the coherent states for a system of an electron moving in a plane under uniform external magnetic and electric fields. These coherent states are built in the context of both discrete and continuous spectra and satisfy the Gazeau-Klauder coherent state properties Gazeau and Klauder (1999 J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 32, 123–132).

In this work, we consider a model of an electron moving in a plane under uniform external magnetic and electric fields. We investigate the action of unitary maps on the associated quantum Hamiltonians and construct coherent states of Gazeau–Klauder type.

On Coherent States of Relativistic Particles

I. M. Ternov, Vladislav G. Bagrov

Abstract Some general properties of coherent states of a particle in quantum mechanics are discussed and examples of relativistics coherent states of an electron moving in a steady and homogeneous field and in a non‐stationary external field of special kind are presented. In particular cases this field may be a plane wave, a Redmond field (a superposition of plane wave and homogenous magnetic field), a superposition of a Redmond field and a longitudinal electric field or other physically interesting fields.

TEMPORALLY STABLE COHERENT STATES FOR A FREE MAGNETIC SCHRÖDINGER OPERATOR

Kengatharam Thirulogasanthar, Nasser Saad, Attila B. von Keviczky

Abstract. Eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of the free magnetic Schrödinger operator, describing a spinless particle confined to an infinite layer of fixed width, are discussed in detail. The eigenfunctions are realized as an orthonormal basis of a suitable Hilbert space. Four different classes of temporally stable coherent states associated to the operator are presented. The first two classes are derived as coherent states with one degree of freedom and the last two classes are derived with two degrees of freedom. The dynamical algebra of each class is found. Statistical quantities associated to each class of coherent states are calculated explicitely. 1.

Coherent states and related quantizations for unbounded motions

We discuss the construction of coherent states (CS) for systems with continuous spectra. First, we propose to adopt the Malkin–Manko approach, developed for systems with discrete spectra, to the case under consideration. Following this approach, we consider two examples, a free particle and a particle in a linear potential. Second, we generalize the approach of action-angle CS to systems with continuous spectra. In the first approach we start with a well-defined quantum formulation (canonical quantization) of a physical system and the construction of CS follows from such a quantization. In the second approach, the quantization procedure is inherent to the CS construction itself.
