Coherence as entropy increment for Tsallis and Renyi entropies

Anna Vershynina

Relative entropy of coherence can be written as an entropy difference of the original state and the incoherent state closest to it when measured by relative entropy. The natural question is, if we generalize this situation to Tsallis or Rényi entropies, would it define good coherence measures? In other words, we define a difference between Tsallis entropies of the original state and the incoherent state closest to it when measured by Tsallis relative entropy. Taking Rényi entropy instead of the Tsallis entropy, leads to the well-known distance-based Rényi coherence, which means this expression defined a good coherence measure. Interestingly, we show that Tsallis entropy does not generate even a genuine coherence monotone, unless it is under a very restrictive class of operations. Additionally, we provide continuity estimates for both Tsallis and Rényi coherence expressions. Furthermore, we present two coherence measures based on the closest incoherent state when measures by Tsallis or Rényi relative entropy.

Distribution of coherence in multipartite systems under entropic coherence measure

Kaifeng Bu, Lu Li, Arun Kumar Pati +2 more

The distribution of coherence in multipartite systems is one of the fundamental problems in the resource theory of coherence. To quantify the coherence in multipartite systems more precisely, we introduce new coherence measures, incoherent-quantum (IQ) coherence measures, on bipartite systems by the max- and min- relative entropies and provide the operational interpretation in certain subchannel discrimination problem. By introducing the smooth max- and min- relative entropies of incoherent-quantum (IQ) coherence on bipartite systems, we exhibit the distribution of coherence in multipartite systems: the total coherence is lower bounded by the sum of local coherence and genuine multipartite entanglement. Besides, we find the monogamy relationship for coherence on multipartite systems by incoherent-quantum (IQ) coherence measures. Thus, the IQ coherence measures introduced here truly capture the non-sharability of quantumness of coherence in multipartite context.

Genuine multipartite Rains entanglement

Hailey S. Murray, Sagnik Bhattacharya, M. Cerezo +2 more

We introduce the genuine multipartite Rains entanglement (GMRE) as a measure of genuine multipartite entanglement that can be computed using semi-definite programming. Similar to the Rains relative entropy (its bipartite counterpart), the GMRE is monotone under selective quantum operations that completely preserve the positivity of the partial transpose, implying that it is a multipartite entanglement monotone. As a consequence, we show that the GMRE bounds both the one-shot standard and probabilistic approximate GHZ-distillable entanglement from above. We also develop a generalization of this quantity that incorporates other entropies, including quantum Renyi relative entropies.
