Abstract

Nonlocal quantum correlations among the quantum subsystems play essential roles in quantum science. The violation of the Svetlichny inequality provides sufficient conditions of genuine tripartite nonlocality. We provide tight upper bounds on the maximal quantum value of the Svetlichny operators under local filtering operations, and present a qualitative analytical analysis on the hidden genuine nonlocality for three-qubit systems. We investigate in detail two classes of three-qubit states whose hidden genuine nonlocalities can be revealed by local filtering.

Tight upper bound of genuine four party Svetlichny type nonlocality with and without local filtering

Sk Sahadat Hossain, Paul, Biswajit, Indrani Chattopadhyay +1 more

Identifying the nonlocality of a multiparty quantum state is an important task in quantum mechanics. Seevinck and Svetlichny [Phys. Rev. Lett. 89, 060401 (2002)], and independently, Collins and co-workers [Phys. Rev. Lett. 88, 170405 (2002)] have generalized the tripartite notion of Svetlichny nonlocality to n-parties. Here we have developed a tight upper bound for genuine four party Svetlichny type nonlocality. The constraints on the quantum states for the tightness of the bound are also presented. The method enables us to provide necessary and sufficient conditions for violating the four qubit Svetlichny type inequality for several quantum states. The relations between the genuine multipartite entanglement and the maximal quantum value of the Seevinck and Svetlichny operators for pure four qubit states are also discussed. Consequently, we have exhibited genuine four qubit hidden nonlocality under local filtering. Our result provides an effective and operational method for further study of multipartite quantum nonlocality.

Svetlichny’s inequality and genuine tripartite nonlocality in three-qubit pure states

Ashok Ajoy, Pranaw Rungta

The violation of the Svetlichny's inequality (SI) [Phys. Rev. D 35, 3066 (1987)] is sufficient but not necessary for genuine tripartite nonlocal correlations. Here we quantify the relationship between tripartite entanglement and the maximum expectation value of the Svetlichny operator (which is bounded from above by the inequality) for the two inequivalent subclasses of pure three-qubit states: the Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) class and the $W$ class. We show that the maximum for the GHZ-class states reduces to Mermin's inequality [Phys. Rev. Lett. 65, 1838 (1990)] modulo a constant factor, and although it is a function of the three tangle and the residual concurrence, large numbers of states do not violate the inequality. We further show that by design SI is more suitable as a measure of genuine tripartite nonlocality between the three qubits in the $W$-class states, and the maximum is a certain function of the bipartite entanglement (the concurrence) of the three reduced states, and only when their sum attains a certain threshold value do they violate the inequality.

Tight upper bound for the maximal quantum value of the Svetlichny operators

Ming Li, Shu‐Qian Shen, Naihuan Jing +2 more

It is a challenging task to detect genuine multipartite nonlocality (GMNL). In this paper, the problem is considered via computing the maximal quantum value of Svetlichny operators for three-qubit systems and a tight upper bound is obtained. The constraints on the quantum states for the tightness of the bound are also presented. The approach enables us to give the necessary and sufficient conditions of violating the Svetlichny inequality (SI) for several quantum states, including the white and color noised Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states. The relation between the genuine multipartite entanglement concurrence and the maximal quantum value of the Svetlichny operators for mixed GHZ class states is also discussed. As the SI is useful for the investigation of GMNL, our results give an effective and operational method to detect the GMNL for three-qubit mixed states.

Tight Upper Bound for the Maximal Expectation Value of the N$N$‐Partite Generalized Svetlichny Operator

Youwang Xiao, Zong Wang, Wen‐Na Zhao +1 more

Abstract Genuine multipartite non‐locality is not only of fundamental interest but also serves as an important resource for quantum information theory. The ‐partite scenario and provide an analytical upper bound on the maximal expectation value of the generalized Svetlichny inequality achieved by an arbitrary ‐qubit system is considered. Furthermore, the constraints on quantum states for which the upper bound is tight are also presented and illustrated by noisy generalized Greenberger‐Horne‐Zeilinger states. Especially, the new techniques proposed to derive the upper bound allow more insights into the structure of the generalized Svetlichny operator and enable us to systematically investigate the relevant properties. As an operational approach, the variation of the correlation matrix defined makes it more convenient to search for suitable unit vectors that satisfy the tightness conditions. Finally, the results give feasible experimental implementations in detecting the genuine multipartite non‐locality and can potentially be applied to other quantum information processing tasks.

Genuine Hidden Quantum Nonlocality

Flavien Hirsch, Marco Túlio Quintino, Joseph Bowles +1 more

The nonlocality of certain quantum states can be revealed by using local filters before performing a standard Bell test. This phenomenon, known as hidden nonlocality, has been so far demonstrated only for a restricted class of measurements, namely, projective measurements. Here, we prove the existence of genuine hidden nonlocality. Specifically, we present a class of two-qubit entangled states, for which we construct a local model for the most general local measurements, and show that the states violate a Bell inequality after local filtering. Hence, there exist entangled states, the nonlocality of which can be revealed only by using a sequence of measurements. Finally, we show that genuine hidden nonlocality can be maximal. There exist entangled states for which a sequence of measurements can lead to maximal violation of a Bell inequality, while the statistics of nonsequential measurements is always local.

Theory of Genuine Tripartite Nonlocality of Gaussian States

Gerardo Adesso, Samanta Piano

We investigate the genuine multipartite nonlocality of three-mode Gaussian states of continuous variable systems. For pure states, we present a simplified procedure to obtain the maximum violation of the Svetlichny inequality based on displaced parity measurements, and we analyze its interplay with genuine tripartite entanglement measured via Rényi-2 entropy. The maximum Svetlichny violation admits tight upper and lower bounds at fixed tripartite entanglement. For mixed states, no violation is possible when the purity falls below 0.86. We also explore a set of recently derived weaker inequalities for three-way nonlocality, finding violations for all tested pure states. Our results provide a strong signature for the nonclassical and nonlocal nature of Gaussian states despite their positive Wigner function, and lead to precise recipes for its experimental verification.
