Complementarity vs coordinate transformations: Mapping between pseudo-Hermiticity and weak pseudo-Hermiticity

Abstract

We investigate in this paper the concept of complementarity, introduced by Bagchi and Quesne [Phys. Lett. A 301, 173 (2002)], between pseudo-Hermiticity and weak pseudo-Hermiticity in a rigorous mathematical viewpoint of coordinate transformations when a system has a position-dependent mass. We first determine, under the modified-momentum, the generating functions identifying the complexified potentials V±(x) under both concepts of pseudo-Hermiticity η̃+ (respectively, weak pseudo-Hermiticity η̃−). We show that the concept of complementarity can be understood and interpreted as a coordinate transformation through their respective generating functions. As a consequence, a similarity transformation that implements coordinate transformations is obtained. We show that the similarity transformation is set up as a fundamental relationship connecting both η̃+ and η̃−. A special factorization η+=η−†η− is discussed in the constant mass case, and some Bäcklund transformations are derived.

Weak-Pseudo-Hermiticity of Non-Hermitian Hamiltonians with Position-Dependent Mass

Sid-Ahmed Yahiaoui, M. Bentaïba

We extend the definition of eta-weak-pseudo-Hermiticity to the class of potentials endowed with position-dependent mass. The construction of non-Hermitian Hamiltonians through some generating function are obtained. Special cases of potentials are thus deduced.

Pseudo-Hermiticity and some consequences of a generalized quantum condition

Bijan Kumar Bagchi, C. Quesne, Rajkumar Roychoudhury

We exploit the hidden symmetry structure of a recently proposed non-Hermitian Hamiltonian and of its Hermitian equivalent one. This sheds new light on the pseudo-Hermitian character of the former and allows access to a generalized quantum condition. Special cases lead to hyperbolic and Morse-like potentials in the framework of a coordinate-dependent mass model.

Pseudo-Hermitian coherent states under the generalized quantum condition with position-dependent mass

Sid-Ahmed Yahiaoui, M. Bentaïba

In the context of the factorization method, we investigate the pseudo-Hermitian coherent states and their Hermitian counterpart coherent states under the generalized quantum condition in the framework of a position-dependent mass. By considering a specific modification in the superpotential, suitable annihilation and creation operators are constructed in order to reproduce the Hermitian counterpart Hamiltonian in the factorized form. We show that by means of these ladder operators, we can construct a wide range of exactly solvable potentials as well as their accompanying coherent states. Alternatively, we explore the relationship between the pseudo-Hermitian Hamiltonian and its Hermitian counterparts, obtained from a similarity transformation, to construct the associated pseudo-Hermitian coherent states. These latter preserve the structure of Perelomov's states and minimize the generalized position–momentum uncertainty principle. On the η pseudo P T symmetry theory for non-Hermitian Hamiltonians: time-dependent systems

Mustapha Maamache

Abstract In the context of non-Hermitian quantum mechanics, many systems are known to possess a pseudo P T symmetry, i.e. the non-Hermitian Hamiltonian H is related to its adjoint H † via the relation, H † = P T H P T . We propose a derivation of pseudo P T symmetry and η -pseudo-Hermiticity simultaneously for the time dependent non-Hermitian Hamiltonians by intoducing a new symmetry operator η ˜ ( t ) = P T η ( t ) that not satisfy the time-dependent quasi-Hermiticity relation but obeys the Heisenberg evolution equation. Here, we solve the SU(1, 1) time-dependent non-Hermitian Hamiltonian and we construct a time-dependent solutions by employing this new symmetry operator and discuss a concrete physical applications of our results.
