Abstract

Abstract We define a new family of overlaps C N , m for the XXZ Hamiltonian on a periodic chain of length N . These are equal to the linear sums of the groundstate components, in the canonical basis, wherein m consecutive spins are fixed to the state ↑. We define the boundary emptiness formation probabilities as the ratios C N , m / C N ,0 of these overlaps. In the associated six-vertex model, they correspond to correlation functions on a semi-infinite cylinder of perimeter N . At the combinatorial point Δ = − 1 2 , we obtain closed-form expressions in terms of simple products of ratios of integers.

On the emptiness formation probability of the openXXZspin-1/2 chain

Karol Kajetan Kozlowski

This paper is devoted to the study of the emptiness formation probability τ( m ) of the open XXZ chain. We derive a closed form for τ( m ) at Δ = 1/2 when the boundary field vanishes. Moreover we obtain its leading asymptotics for an arbitrary boundary field at the free fermion point. Finally, we compute the first term of the asymptotics of ln(τ( m )) for the whole massless regime −1<Δ<1.

The open XXZ chain at Δ = −1/2 and the boundary quantum Knizhnik–Zamolodchikov equations

Christian Hagendorf, Jean Liénardy

Abstract The open XXZ spin chain with the anisotropy parameter Δ = − 1 2 and diagonal boundary magnetic fields that depend on a parameter x is studied. For real x > 0, the exact finite-size ground-state eigenvalue of the spin-chain Hamiltonian is explicitly computed. In a suitable normalisation, the ground-state components are characterised as polynomials in x with integer coefficients. Linear sum rules and special components of this eigenvector are explicitly computed in terms of determinant formulas. These results follow from the construction of a contour-integral solution to the boundary quantum Knizhnik–Zamolodchikov equations associated with the R -matrix and diagonal K -matrices of the six-vertex model. A relation between this solution and a weighted enumeration of totally-symmetric alternating sign matrices is conjectured.

Emptiness formation probability of theXXZspin- Heisenberg chain at

N Kitanine, Jean Michel Maillet, N. A. Slavnov +1 more

Using a multiple integral representation for the correlation functions, we compute the emptiness formation probability of the XXZ spin-½ Heisenberg chain at anisotropy Δ = ½. We prove that it is expressed in terms of the number of alternating sign matrices.

Boundary correlations for the six-vertex model with reflecting end boundary condition

I R Passos, G A P Ribeiro

Abstract We consider the six-vertex model with reflecting end boundary condition. We compute analytically boundary correlation functions, such as the boundary polarization and the emptiness formation probability. In order to do that, we use the Sklyanin’s reflection algebra to derive recursion relations for the partition function of the model as well as for the boundary correlations in terms of the partition function. Thanks to the Tsuchiya determinant formula, these recursion relations allow the boundary correlations to be also efficiently written in determinant form.

The emptiness formation probability, and representations for nonlocal correlation functions, of the 20-vertex model

Pete Rigas

We study the emptiness formation probability, along with various representations for nonlocal correlation functions, of the 20-vertex model. In doing so, we leverage previous arguments for representations of nonlocal correlation functions for the 6-vertex model, under domain-wall boundary conditions, due to Colomo, Di Giulio, and Pronko, in addition to the inhomogeneous, and homogeneous, determinantal representations for the 20-vertex partition function due to Di Francesco, also under domain-wall boundary conditions. By taking a product of row configuration probabilities, we obtain a desired contour integral representation for nonlocal correlations from a determinantal representation. Finally, a counterpart of the emptiness formation probability is introduced for the 20-vertex model.

Sum rules for the ground states of the O(1) loop model on a cylinder and the XXZ spin chain

Philippe Di Francesco, Paul Zinn-Justin, Jean-Bernard Zuber

The sums of components of the ground states of the O(1) loop model on a cylinder or of the XXZ quantum spin chain at Delta=-1/2 (of size L) are expressed in terms of combinatorial numbers. The methods include the introduction of spectral parameters and the use of integrability, a mapping from size L to L+1, and knot-theoretic skein relations.
