Abstract

We investigate quantum synchronization and correlations of two qutrits in one non-Markovian environment using the hierarchy equation method. There is no direct interaction between two qutrits and each qutrit interacts with the same non-Markovian environment. The influence of the temperature of the bath, correlation time and coupling strength between qutrits and bath on the quantum synchronization and correlations of two qutrits are studied without the Markovian, Born and rotating wave approximations. We also discuss the influence of dissipation and dephasing on the synchronization of two qutrits. In the presence of dissipation, the phase locking between two qutrits without any direct interaction can be achieved when each qutrit interacts with the common bath. Two qutrits within one common bath cannot be syncrhonized in the purely dephasing case. In addition, the Arnold tongue can be significantly broadened by decreasing the correlation time of two qutrits and bath. Markovian baths are more suitable for synchronizing qutrits than non-Markovian baths.

BIPARTITE AND MULTIPARTITE CORRELATIONS OF COUPLED QUBITS IN A NON-MARKOVIAN ENVIRONMENT: HIERARCHY EQUATION METHOD

Jian-Song Zhang, Zhiyuan Huang, Aixi Chen

We study bipartite and multipartite correlations of several coupled qubits within a common non-Markovian bath using the hierarchy equation method. This method does not use the rotating-wave and Born–Markovian approximations. The interaction between the qubits and their coupling strength with the bath have remarkable influence on the dynamics of quantum correlations. The entanglement sudden death (ESD) phenomenon, the amount of stationary state concurrence and spin squeezing can be controled by the non-Markovianity of the environment and interactions between qubits. These properties may be useful for purposes of quantum information processing with multiqubit system in non-Markovian environments.

Non-Markovian Dynamics of Quantum and Classical Correlations in the Presence of System-Bath Coherence

Chuan‐Feng Li, Hao-Tian Wang, Hong-Yuan Yuan +2 more

We present a detailed study on the dynamics of two-qubit correlations in non-Markovian environments, applying the hierarchy equations approach. This treatment is free from the limitation of perturbative, Markovian or rotating wave approximations. It is shown that crossovers and sudden changes in the classical and quantum correlations can appear when the strength of the interaction between qubits is gradually reduced. For some special initial states, there are even sudden transitions between the classical and quantum correlations.

Exact dynamics of quantum correlations of two qubits coupled to bosonic baths

Chen Wang, Qing-Hu Chen

Dynamics of the quantum entanglement and quantum discord of two qubits in two independent baths and a common bath with the Lorentzian spectrum are studied exactly in the numerical sense within the hierarchy approach. The effects of the counter-rotating-wave terms from the system–bath coherence on these quantum correlations are systematically discussed and comparisons with previous ones under the rotating-wave approximation are also performed. For two independent baths, beyond the weak system–bath coupling, the counter-rotating-wave terms essentially change evolutions of both the entanglement and quantum discord. With increase of the coupling, revival of the entanglement after a period of complete disentanglement is suppressed dramatically and finally disappears, and the quantum discord becomes smaller monotonically. For the common bath, the entanglement is also suppressed by the counter-rotating-wave terms, but the quantum discord shows quite different behaviors if initiated from spin-correlated states. In the non-Markovian regime, the quantum discord is almost not influenced by the counter-rotating-wave terms and is generally finite in the long-time evolution at arbitrary coupling while in the Markovian regime, it is significantly enhanced with the strong coupling.

Enhanced quantum synchronization of a driven qubit under non-Markovian dynamics

Po‐Wen Chen, Chandrashekar Radhakrishnan, Md. Manirul Ali

Synchronizing a few-level quantum system is of fundamental importance to the understanding of synchronization in the deep quantum regime. We investigate quantum phase synchronization of a two-level system (qubit) driven by a semiclassical laser field, in the presence of a general non-Markovian dissipative environment. The phase preference of the qubit is demonstrated through Husimi Q-function, and the existence of a limit cycle is also shown in our system. Synchronization of the qubit is quantified using the shifted phase distribution. The signature of quantum phase synchronization viz the Arnold tongue is obtained from the maximal value of the shifted phase distribution. Two distinct types of qubit dynamics is considered depending on the reservoir correlation time being very short and a situation when bath correlation time is finite. In the Markov regime of the environment, the phase preference of the qubit goes away in the long time limit, whereas the long-time phase localization persists in the non-Markovian regime. We also plot the maximum of the shifted phase distribution in two ways: (a) by varying the detuning and laser driving strength, and (b) by varying the system-bath coupling and laser driving strength. Various system-environment parameters determine the synchronization regions and the qubit phase synchronization is shown to be enhanced in the non-Markov regime.

Dynamics of interacting qubits coupled to a common bath: Non-Markovian quantum-state-diffusion approach

Xinyu Zhao, Jun Jing, Brittany Corn +1 more

Non-Markovian dynamics is studied for two interacting qubits strongly coupled to a dissipative bosonic environment. We derive a non-Markovian quantum-state-diffusion (QSD) equation for the coupled two-qubit system without any approximations, and in particular, without the Markov approximation. As an application and illustration of our derived time-local QSD equation, we investigate the temporal behavior of quantum coherence dynamics. In particular, we find a strongly non-Markovian regime where entanglement generation is significantly modulated by the environmental memory. Additionally, we study residual entanglement in the steady state by analyzing the steady-state solution of the QSD equation. Finally, we discuss an approximate QSD equation.

Enhancement of Quantum Correlations in Qubit-Qutrit Systems under the non-Markovian Environment*

Abdul Basit, Hamad Ali, Fazal Badshah +1 more

Abstract We investigate the time evolution of quantum correlations of a hybrid qubit-qutrit system under the classical Ornstein-Uhlenbeck (OU) noise. Here we consider two different one-parameter families of qubit-qutrit states which independently interact with the non-Markovian reservoirs. A comparison with the Markovian dynamics reveals that for the same set of initial condition parameters, the non-Markovian behavior of the environment plays an important role in the enhancement of the survival time of quantum correlations. In addition, it is observed that the non-Markovian strength ( γ / Γ ) has a positive impact on the correlations time. For the initial separable states it is found that there is a finite time interval in which the geometric quantum discord is frozen despite the presence of a noisy environment and that interval can be further prolonged by using the non-Markovian property. Moreover, its decay can be significantly delayed .
