Diagnosing quantum phases using long-range two-site quantum resource behavior

Lin-Lin Su, Junfeng Ren, Wen-Long Ma +2 more

We propose and demonstrate that the behaviors of long-range, two-site quantum resources can effectively diagnose quantum phases. In an XX spin chain with symmetry-breaking quantum phase transitions, we reveal that the gradually decaying and damped oscillating modes of quantum coherence or quantum discord, along with two-site distance, can identify two spin-liquid phases, respectively. Moreover, based on our analytical results of spin correlation functions, we confirm the existence of long-range entanglement in the system and establish a connection between two-site entanglement and quantum phases. Furthermore, for the extended Ising model with topological phase transitions, we find that coherence and quantum discord behaviors can also signify topological quantum phases. In particular, we discover the quantum resource freezing phenomenon, where topologically protected long-range quantum resources may have potential applications in quantum information processing.

TRANSMITTING BIPARTITE AND MULTIPARTITE CORRELATIONS VIA SPIN CHAINS UNDER PHASE DECOHERENCE

AI Jian-feng, Jian-Song Zhang, Aixi Chen

We investigate the transfer of bipartite (measured by cocurrence) and multipartite (measured by global discord) quantum correlations though spin chains under phase decoherence. The influence of phase decoherence and anisotropy parameter upon quantum correlations transfer is investigated. On the one hand, in the case of no phase decoherence, there is no steady state quantum correlations between spins. On the other hand, if the phase decoherence is larger than zero, the bipartite quantum correlations can be transferred through a Heisenberg XXX chain for a long time and there is steady state bipartite entanglement. For a Heisenberg XX chain, bipartite entanglement between two spins is destroyed completely after a long time. Multipartite quantum correlations of all spins are more robust than bipartite quantum correlations. Thus, one can store multipartite quantum correlations in spin chains for a long time under phase decoherence.

Ground state analysis of the spin-1/2 XX chain model with anisotropic three-spin interaction

Nima Mahboob, S. Mahdavifar, F. Khastehdel Fumani

In this paper, we investigate the ground state properties of the spin-1/2 XX chain model with anisotropic three-spin interaction using the fermionization technique. By exactly diagonalizing the Hamiltonian, we analyze the dispersion relation, ground state energy, and order parameters. Our findings identify two gapless phases, distinguished by a Lifshitz transition line: one exhibiting long-range chiral correlations and the other characterized by chiral-nematic correlations. These correlations do not correspond to conventional symmetry-breaking local order parameters typically associated with gapped one-dimensional phases but instead signify emergent quantum coherence in the gapless regime. Further, we study the ground state phase diagram through the concurrence and quantum discord between nearest-neighbor spins, finding that these measures are maximized at the critical line, with an additional entangled region observed. Finally, we examine the spin squeezing parameter and entanglement entropy, demonstrating that the ground state is squeezed throughout and becomes extremely squeezed at the critical line. Notably, in the gapless chiral-nematic phase, the Heisenberg limit is achieved. By dividing the system into two equal parts, we observe significant entanglement in the gapless chiral phase. The central charge calculation confirms the critical nature of the gapless chiral-nematic phase, while the entanglement entropy follows volume-law scaling in the gapless chiral phase.
